September 28, 2000, Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount in al Quds .
This visit became the pretext for organizing large scale demonstrations, the start of the al-Aqsa intifada. On September 29, Palestinians staged large demonstrations and threw stones at Israeli police at the Western Wall in Al Quds.The Israeli occupant used rubber-coated metal bullets and live ammunition against the demonstrators, killing and injuring approximately 200 protesters.

The participants of the rally also expressed their firm support of Hamas movement and the Islamic Jihad and the Palestinians in Al Quds ( Jerusalem) who are subjected to a brutal, vicious campaign by the Zionist occupant.The campaign is aimed to complete the Judaization of Al Quds, cast out( expel)the Palestinian citizens from where they have lived their lives for generations back in time.
Some of the organizers also expressed their rejection to negotiations between Fatah and the Zionist entity, stressing that such a negotiations can only result in more losses of land and Palestinian lives. Derive advantage from the Palestinians.. to benefit the Zionist occupant.
In the southern parts of Gaza, another tenth of thousands of citizens responded to a call from Islamic Jihad. Muhammad al-Hindi and Mahammad Batsh, two leaders of Islamic Jihad participated in the rally in protest against negotiations with the Zionist occupant, emphasising that negotiations with the Palestinian peoples enemy, would only serve to conceal the deception of the Zionist occupation: To continue it's violation of the Palestinian people's rights.Both leaders of the Islamic Jihad stated that the only option to liberate Palestine from the Zionist occupation is to proceed along the course of resistance.

Huge demonstrations for Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza

GAZA, (PIC)-- The PIC correspondent said that tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated on Friday around the Gaza Strip to mark the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada.
In the central Gaza Strip thousands responded to a call by Hamas to demonstrate after the Friday prayers where worshipers from different mosques marched to a meeting point at the junction of Buraij and Nuseirat refugee camps.
As well as marking the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada, the demonstrators expressed support for Palestinian captives in Israeli occupation jails, who are being subjected to a vicious campaign by their respective jail adminstrations.
Sammak said in a statement to PIC that the rallies were also in support of "our people in Jerusalem who are being subjected to a brutal campaign by the Israeli occupation authority with the aim of expelling them from Jerusalem to complete its Judaization."
He added that demonstrators also expressed their rejection of the negotiations between Fatah and the occupation stressing that such negotiations can only result in more losses to the Palestinian people and only benefit the occupation.

The two Jihad leaders, Muhammad al-Batsh and Mohmmad al-Hindi participated in the demonstration and told the PIC correspondent that the demonstration was to protest the negotiations with occupation stressing that these negotiations only serve as a cover for the Zionist occupation to violate the Palestinian people's rights.
The two leaders added that resistance was the only option to liberate Palestine from the occupation.
