[ 28/10/2010 - 11:35 AM ] OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Haaretz newspaper said that senior Fatah officials gave lectures and presentations to Israeli security and intelligence officers and recruits as well as heads of settlements in one of the Israeli military post in the West Bank.
The newspaper noted that these lectures and presentations are organized by the Israeli army and the civil administration in the West Bank and aimed at keeping the attendees informed on recent changes and developments in the West Bank and to explain to Israeli soldiers the complications they may face their missions in areas populated by Palestinians.
Haaretz described this security cooperation between the Palestinian authority (PA) and Israel as unprecedented and in constant progress, affirming that the two sides exchange information and the PA hands over to Israel all the weapons it confiscates.It pointed out that despite this cooperation, the Israeli army carried out military drills in recent days to confront any possible deterioration in the situation in the West Bank in which the PA security forces could turn their guns against Israeli soldiers.
In a separate incident, four Palestinian citizens through to be affiliated with Hamas Movement were kidnapped by PA security militias in the cities of Al-Khalil, Beitlehem and Nablus, according to local sources on Thursday.
For their part, the families of Palestinian prisoners in PA jails in the West Bank said they are banned from visiting their sons in prison and there is a news blackout imposed on what is happening to their detained sons.
The father of detainee Ahmed Abu Turki told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the PA security apparatuses stepped up its arbitrary measures against detainees in their jails and sent dozens of them, including his son, to solitary confinement in Jericho prison.
He appealed to human rights organizations and the Red Cross to urgently intervene and disclose the fate of all detainees in PA jails, especially those who were transferred to Jericho prison.
