RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Senior Islamic Jihad official Khader Adnan, a prisoner in PA jails, went on open hunger strike in protest at his detention without any guilt.
The Islamic Jihad Movement held the PA fully responsible for the life of Adnan and demanded his immediate release.
In this regard, many families and relatives of prisoners in West Bank jails voiced their fears that the PA could have bad faith towards the national reconciliation and demanded Hamas Movement not to sign any agreement with Fatah in this regard before their sons are released from its prisons.
Abu Mohamed, one of many examples whose sons are arbitrarily detained in PA jails, considered the detention of Palestinians for political reasons while there is talk about reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah "unreasonable and unacceptable".
He affirmed that Palestine's finest men are locked up in West Bank jails and all of them are either brothers of martyrs and prisoners, or doctors, professors, engineers, charity workers, students, and religious figures.
These families also expressed their belief that the political arrests in the West Bank destroy the social fabric and the morals of Palestinian citizens there.
