Hamas: Deportation threats pave the way for liquidating Palestine cause

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Hamas movement said that it was seriously considering the Fatah-controlled militias' threats to deport Hamas leaders and supporters outside their homeland.

The movement said in a press release on Monday that the threats were similar to those of the Israeli occupation authority (IOA).

It charged that the threats were in blatant violation of the national, ethical, and humanitarian principles, adding that it was not acceptable that those apparatuses would turn into a tool in the hands of the IOA, which targets banishing national leaders to pave the way for liquidating the Palestine cause.

Hamas urged the Palestinian masses to display protest and anger over such "madness", and to demand that all those who participate in such threats or try to implement them should be brought to account.

The movement described as "national betrayal" any attempt to exile national figures out of their homeland.

People's Party calls for legal action against those who voiced exile threats

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Senior member of the Palestinian People's Party Waleed al-Awad called in a statement Sunday for immediate legal action against the Fatah officers who recently threatened to exile dozens of Hamas leaders in the West Bank.

“We condemn threats by some Palestinian security agency officers in the West Bank towards several Hamas movement leaders after recently summoning them to security headquarters to exile them from the West Bank to any place they choose.”

Awad warned that the move signals a dangerous development in Palestinian internal relations. Exiling and depriving Palestinians the right to return to their homes is a political, national, and moral crime that is illegal for any Palestinian party to engage in, Awad added.

The People's Party politburo member demanded an end to the PA's political detention of Palestinians. “[The Palestinians] must end division and restore national unity to cope with challenges the Palestinians face in order to face potential Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.”
