PLC to review secret negotiation documents on Thursday

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Legislative Council will convene a meeting Thursday to discuss documents Al-Jazeera TV aired detailing negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel. Rights groups have taken steps to legally attack illegal negotiators.

"The council's presidency has invited representatives to attend a special meeting the Palestinian parliament will hold Thursday in Gaza city to discuss the dynamics of the documents Al-Jazeera TV has published concerning negotiations with Israel," the PLC media department said.

Al-Jazeera has been gradually revealing since Sunday some of its claimed 1,600 secret documents leaking negotiations that conceded most of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians' right of return.

Meanwhile, a Gaza refugees committee announced a popular trial will be held during the first week in February against unauthorized Fatah negotiators who compromised the right to return of Palestinians.

The trial will be convened in the PLC square in Gaza and will involve private and national organizations. A court order is currently in progress.

"We coordinated with rights experts to participate in the trial; coordination is still under deliberation," said Maeen Madiris, chairman of the popular committee for refugees in Gaza.

The prosecution says generally accepted Palestinian rights cannot be compromised, negotiated or even thrown on the negotiation table. The documents Al-Jazeera leaked Tuesday detailed that negotiators conceded on those constants.

"These rights are collective, and not individual. No one has the right to waive them," Madiris said.

The cases will be based on properties and villages lost as documented by Al-Jazeera.
