[ 08/03/2011 - 02:44 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The department of research and documentation in Jerusalem center for social and economic rights said that the Israeli municipal council in the Palestinian holy city started recently to replace the Arab names of some alleys and streets of the old city with Hebrew names.

The department added that Israeli civil servants from the municipal council installed a sign on the wall of a Palestinian house on Bab Al-Jadeed street in the old city of Jerusalem saying that the name of the street is Der Bacillus.

It emphasized that this Israeli action is considered an assault on private property and a gross distortion of Jerusalem's history.
