[ 15/03/2011 - 05:03 PM ]

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Israeli navy gunboats forced a commercial ship flying the Liberian flag to sail to one of its ports after taking control of it 200 nautical miles west of the Israeli coast.

An Israeli army spokesman claimed on Tuesday that the ship was carrying weapons and combat means to the Gaza Strip.

He added that the ship named "Victoria" was taken without much ado and that it was being towed to an Israeli harbor.

Yediot Ahronot said that the ship set sail from the Turkish port of Mersin and was heading to Alexandria port in Egypt.
