Sayyed Nasrallah to Arabs: Your Spring Has Begun

M.Shmaysani
Hezbollah Secretary Genetral Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah expressed support to the revolutions and the uprisings of the Arab people, particularly in Tunis, Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, and Yemen.

Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking Saturday evening during a festival organized by Hezbollah for the support of the Arab peoples’ revolutions, in the Sayed Shouhada compound in Beirut’s southern suburb.

“This solidarity is of great moral value, because what is happening today reflects perseverance and resistance of these peoples backed by faith and high morals. We recall the cruel days of the July 2006 war; the war that embodied the scandals that are unfolding now through Wikileaks. Remember how anything that had been said in any place in the world had a good impact on the resistance and its supporters; this is the case with the revolutionary peoples today. We tell them that you have our support; we are happy when you are; we pray for you to triumph; we are ready to help you in every domain that serves your interest and ours,” Sayyed Nasrallah said.
The main points of Sayyed Nasrallah’s discourse.

REVOLUTIONS ARE MADE BY THE PEOPLE NOT U.S.
His eminence stressed that the ongoing revolutions are made by the people against pro-US regimes which do not pose any sort of threat to American policies and unequivocally Israel. “America does not trigger revolutions against such submissive regimes.”

He added that it was irrational to say that these revolutions were cooked in the US kitchens, and that this would have been a probability if this or that regime was against Israel. “Not to mention that accusing AL-Qaeda and Iran (of being behind the revolutions) is absurd.”

“We have witnessed how young men sacrificed and received bullets with their bare chests; those regimes should not ignore. The rule is when such ready, steadfast, and determined people rise, no one can defeat it. This is a Divine law. Sacrifices may be huge, but with perseverance and determination, victory is a destiny. This was proved by resistance movements throughout time. As for regimes, they should have initiated dialogue and reforms away from hypocrisy, but instead they resorted to accusations, humiliation, and murder. A major victory was achieved in Egypt and Tunis, and this prompted the Libyan regime to ignite a cruel internal war, and put the regimes of Yemen and Bahrain on verge of civil war. Had it not been for the determination of the people to preserve the peaceful nature of their movements, there would have been civil wars as a result of the regimes’ performance,” Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out.

To Arab revolutionaries: Your spring has just started..Nothing will stop it…No one will take you to another spring..You shall triumph and we shall triumph God willing.

AS LONG AS US BACKS ISRAEL, IT WILL BE REGARDED AS PLAYING THE HYPOCRITE

The Hezbollah chief warned against Washington’s hypocrisy saying that the US administration was trying to appear as a defender of change and reform, “and our message today is that the peoples should not be deceived and I believe they will not be deceived because they are aware that their regimes have been for decades a US protégé. The US administration is an accomplice in the crimes committed by the regimes and any American rhetoric about human rights and condemnations of suppression and terror are null and void given the US policy vis-à-vis the Palestinian people. A few days ago, the US vetoed a resolution to stop settlement building; in Palestine, a people is being bombed, killed, and displaced; Muslim and Christian sanctities in Al-Quds are threatened while the American administration is backing the aggressor and the bone crusher (Israel).”

Sayyed Nasrallah also said that the US administration had other reasons to interfere. “They fear that oil fields would fall in the hands of sincere nations; this is the main reason for their interference. Keep your eyes on Palestine; as long as the US backs Israel then all of its claims of being with human rights are false.”

SATELLITES JAMMED DURING SAYYED NASRALLAH’S SPEECH

During his speech, a piece of paper was handed to the Sayyed, and he smiled saying: “I have just been informed that many satellite channels have been jammed; being afraid of a word reflects weakness.”

UNITY IN TUNIS AND EGYPT IS A MUST

“In Tunis and Egypt, tyrants have gone away and the main factors are: The perseverance of the peoples of the two countries despite of the sacrifices, the neutrality of the armed forces…Some thought that those peoples would have been satisfied if their rulers and their families had gone; in fact the US was bargaining on this in the framework of cutting its losses. There were surprised to see that those peoples were still pushing their demands forward, and this is where our great hope lies. We call on the people of Egypt and the people of Tunis to unite, because division could be a prelude to the resurrection of the ruling regimes, especially in Egypt given its effective role in the Arab world. Our brothers in Egypt are our hope.”

RESISTANCE FIGHTERS IN LEBANON SALUTE LIBYAN FIGHTERS

Sayyed Nasrallah said the people of Libya had followed track. “A group of young men and women rose and they were faced with bullets; war was imposed on the popular revolution. What is taking place in Libya is war imposed by the regime on a people that was peacefully demanding change; this people was forced to defend itself and war broke out in the east and the west, with warplanes, rocket launchers, and artillery and brought back to our memory the 1982 invasion of Lebanon and all of Israel’s wars. Such serious crimes should be condemned and the revolutionary people of Libya should be helped so as to persevere. We also have to understand that the US and the West have given the Libyan regime enough time to crush the revolution, but the people fought back and embarrassed the whole world, otherwise the world would have acknowledged Moammar Gaddafi’s regime again, and his money would have found its way back to the pockets of European Union’s officials as well as others’. I tell the revolutionaries in Libya: Resistance fighters who fought the Israeli aggression for 33 days salute their fellow fighters in Mesrata, Benghazi, Ajdabya, and all Libyan cities and towns. Gaddafi’s serious crime against Lebanon was the abduction of Imam Moussa Sadr and his comments on this issue are mere lies that cannot change the truth.”

WE PRAISE YEMEN’S PEACEFUL MOVEMENT

His eminence pointed out that the situation in Yemen was very complicated; however, “it is not possible to keep silent about killing and oppressing the demonstrators there. We praise the steadfastness of the Yemeni people and their commitment to their peaceful movement, although we know that Yemen is full of weapons.”

To Bahrainis I say: Do not feel down because there are lots of Sunnis who support you.Your blood and wounds will defeats the tyrants.

TO BAHRAINIS: YOUR BLOOD WILL DEFEAT TYRANTS

The secretary General spoke elaborately about Bahrain and described its people as peaceful and does not threaten any regime. “The people there have legitimate demands and the regime’s response was to kill them. The regime could have absorbed this without the need to open fire. It called for dialogue under fire, but the people in Bahrain continued their peaceful and patriotic movement away from any sectarian background. They sent them armies and created this paradox: When Libyans were being killed and bombed by tanks, the Arab League kept silent; it did not send an army to defend Libyan cities, however in Bahrain, they sent in armies to defend a regime that was basically not threatened with being toppled. The opposition in Bahrain is peaceful; but they (security forces) raided hospitals and attacked the injured and they demolished the homes of some opposition figures. This is an Israeli method. Brutality is the nature of tyrants and sacrifice is the nature of oppressed whose blood is now beleaguered by sectarianism. We praise Sunni Muslim scholars and Sunni Muslim movements in Lebanon and the Arab world for their positions, and I seize this moment to salute Turkish PM Recep Tayyib Erdogan for his stance on Bahrain’s events.”

Sayyed Nasrallah asked “some who have been silent vis-à-vis events in Bahrain” why do they keep silent? “Why is the movement condemned and the injured accused? Just because they are Shiites? If most of the opposition in Bahrain are Shiites, does this outlaw them and make them subject to fatwas? We’ve always been with the Palestinian people, but the sect of the Palestinian people was never an issue for us. Nobody asked about the confession and sect of the Tunisian and Egyptian peoples; we have an obligation to stand by the downtrodden. Iran stood by the people of Palestine, Tunis, Egypt, and Libya; was this based on secular considerations? I find it very weird to hear some people calling on Egyptians to take to the streets, Libyans to kill Gaddafi, but when Bahrain is involved, their ink dries out, and their voices dampen. What is the difference between the Al-Khalifa regime and the regimes of (Hosni) Mubarak and Gaddafi? To Bahrainis I say: Do not feel down by some sectarian fatwas because there are lots of Sunnis who support you. Defend your rights; you have a wise and brave leadership so listen to it. Your blood and wounds will defeats the tyrants and what you’re going through today is worth dying for, even if achieving your goals takes long.”
His eminence addressed the rulers of Libya, Yemen and Bahrain saying: “How do you visualize the future? No matter how stubborn you are, your fate is defeat, so respond to your people’s demands before it’s too late. There is lack of confidence between the opposition and the regime. Where is Arab mediation? The countries that sent in their armies should have sent their foreign ministers to initiate a real mediation.”

All of this (March 14) uproar will not affect the resistance. We will not be provoked because the plot to sew Sunni-Shiite sedition is still standing.

RESISTANCE ARMS POINTED AT ENEMY; JUST STAY AWAY FROM IT

On Lebanon, the resistance leader said the minority’s March 13 rally and the anti-resistance campaign to disarm it - through different media – is cutting edge proof that the arms of the resistance is not pointed at any internal side. “You (March 14 minority) have been instigating, provoking, and stirring up strife day and night unchallenged. Everything that’s been said was repetition of previous accusations, and accordingly, there is nothing to argue about. The resistance question is not addressed with instigation; we are not afraid to engage in dialogue because we have evidence and our lessons in defending nations are being taught in the most important military schools in the world. All of this uproar will not affect the resistance; we will move forward with training, acquiring more arms, organizing our ranks, and committing to the golden rule (Army-people-resistance). Tomorrow, when any future Lebanese government decides to dig for oil and gas in south Lebanon, it will only have the resistance to defend this Lebanese right. How else will we defend our oil? With lyrics and poems or ties and jackets (referring to former PM Saad Hariri’s show of taking off his tie and jacket during the March 13 rally in defiance to the resistance arms)? I’m only saying this to freshen up the atmosphere; everyone has the right to put on and take off whatever clothes they want. We will not go through this again, so make as mush speeches as you want; you have nothing new in your rhetoric worth discussing. We will not be provoked because the plot to sew Sunni-Shiite sedition is still standing; they had hoped that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the unjust indictment would drag Lebanon into this kind of sedition, but they have failed. We regard the indictment as worthless and we assure that no Sunni-Shiite sedition will take place in Lebanon. There is nothing to worry about. The resistance is fine, the arms are fine, its supporters are fine, and the eyes of the resistance and its arms are set on the enemy, but just stay away from it.”

Those who advised to go on with the war have blood on their hands and they should be prosecuted.

WIKILEAKS REVELATIONS EXPOSED LEBANESE CONSPIRATORS ON RESISTANCE

On Wikileaks revelation pertaining to Israel’s war on Lebanon in 2006, Sayyed Nasrallah said the documents can be divided into two categories. “The first comprises documents wired by former US Ambassadors to Lebanon Jeffrey Feltman and Michel Sisson who relayed the hopes and sentiments of some Lebanese officials. The second part consists of a number of demands; a request by X to occupy the southern town of Bint Jbeil (referring to former Labor Minister Boutros Harb) or to destroy Hezbollah, or to extend the war and stop it under conditions…this is instigation! Someone was instigating Lebanon’s enemy to kill, bomb, and destroy Lebanon and a part of its resistance, people and army. On the other hand, what was quoted can be divided into two parts: The first consists of people who reviewed their positions and decided to stand by the resistance. The other part consists of people who are still practicing and saying what they said in the Wikileaks documents. This is why we will address in a very civilized manner; through judicial channels. Those who advised to go on with the war have blood on their hands and they should be prosecuted.”

HEAVY PRESSURE ON MIKATI AS HE TRIES TO FORM A GOVERNMENT

The Hezbollah leader warned of great pressure being exerted on PM Nagib Mikati ever since the March 14 minority declared they will not participate in it. “Certain Ambassadors have been demanding Mikati not to form a uniform government. The problem is not about internal problems. The new majority has rightful demands; this happens in the process of forming any government. We will work on forming a new government under Mikati, and this is a political challenge that we (in this majority) are willing to take.”

Sayyed Nasrallah concluded by paying tribute to the martyrs of Arab uprisings and the steadfast peoples. “Your spring has just started..Nothing will stop it…No one will take you to another spring..You shall triumph and we shall triumph God willing.”
