Hezbollah vehemently denounced on Thursday the stances made by the head of the “Future Party” Saad Hariri against the Islamic Republic in Iran and said they were part of the American scheme to create sedition in the region.
Speaking on Thursday during the Saudi-Lebanese Forum, Hariri claimed that the biggest challenge facing the Arab world is what he called Iran's persistent violations. “Lebanon and several Arab countries, in the Gulf and probably outside the Gulf, are suffering… from the flagrant Iranian intervention in the Arab internal issues,” he went on to say.

BETWEEN HARIRI AND GATES
A statement released by Hezbollah media relations said that Hariri’s stances against the Islamic Republic of Iran were a translation of the latest stances of American Defense Minister Robert Gates from Riyadh concerning the Iranian role in the region.
“These stances came as part of an uncovered and blatant attempt to hide the American interference in the region’s affairs as well as a bid to confiscate the people’s will for freedom and their intention to get rid of the American hegemony,” the statement emphasized.
According to the statement, Hariri’s latest stances come also to divert attention from the Israeli enemy’s persistence in its aggressive practices against the Palestinian nation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank alongside its aim to Judaize Al-Quds.

HARIRI BETTING ON JULY WAR
Hezbollah highlighted that the stances made by Hariri do not reflect the real position of Lebanon, its role and interests. “However, they are consistent with the goals of the American scheme aimed at creating sedition and dividing the region’s people,” it added.
While noting that one of the goals of the scheme was to change the direction of the conflict with the Israeli enemy after its defeat in July 2006, Hezbollah pointed out that the WikiLeaks documents have revealed how Hariri was betting on this war to turn Lebanon into an American-Israeli protectorate.

WHO’S THE FOOLISH?
In another statement, Hezbollah criticized the stances made by the head of the caretaker government Saad Hariri concerning the situation of the Lebanese people in Ivory Coast in light of the latest developments there.
“We have been exerting efforts, together with Lebanon's friends, to rescue our people in Ivory Coast from the consequences of the foolish political decisions taken without the State's consent,” Hariri claimed during a speech at a dinner organized by Lebanese Forces and Mustaqbal engineers.
“Hariri’s claims that the policy adopted since the crisis erupted is foolish is another desperate attempt to escape from his responsibilities as the head of the caretaker government, after he entirely turned his back to such a national cause and abandoned the simplest role he should assume,” Hezbollah emphasized.
“Where was the head of this government throughout the crisis? What did he do to deal with it? Why didn’t he listen to the appeals of the Lebanese in Ivory Coast and their demands?” Hezbollah wondered. “He didn’t act as a responsible concerned with the situation of his people,” it added.
Hezbollah stressed that the policy that was adopted since the beginning is the one that protected Lebanese from danger. “The national responsibility and wise policy requires serious work to help Lebanese, not opening debates by Hariri and his bloc to exploit the pain of Lebanese in the internal politics,” the statement pointed out. “This proves once again the maliciousness in dealing with national causes at the expense of the Lebanese pain.”
