RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Ofer jail have appealed to all local and international human rights groups to save the life of their comrade Yasser Al-Rajoub after his health seriously deteriorated.
Fuad Al-Khuffash the director of the Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights said in a press release on Wednesday that the Israeli prison administration finally sent Rajoub’s medical report which revealed he has lung cancer and was in need of urgent chemotherapy. He added that the administration was delaying his treatment.
He quoted the prisoners in the jail as saying that they noticed speedy deterioration in the health condition of Rajoub, from Doura in Al-Khalil and a brother of two Palestinian leaders one of them affiliated with Hamas and the other with Fatah. He added that Rajoub was suffering breathing difficulty, and loss of weight and consciousness.
Khuffash said that the increasing number of Palestinian prisoners with cancer should be investigated.
Rajoub, who is serving a six months administrative detention term, was previously held for 14 years in occupation jails.
