AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Islamic Jihad movement accused the PA preventive security apparatus of arresting five of its cadres in Al-Khalil, describing the act as deliberate to “poison” the reconciliation.
A responsible source in the movement in Al-Khalil said in a statement on Monday that the arrests only deepen the division, which was hoped to have been buried following the signing of the reconciliation agreement in Cairo last week.
He warned of the continuation of such a trend, pointing to the arrest of five Jihad cadres in Al-Khalil at dawn Sunday at the hands of a big force of the preventive security apparatus including three who were ex-prisoners in Israeli jails.
The source also warned of the continued detention of Jihad cadres who were previously arrested by Ramallah’s security apparatuses.
He raised doubts over the PA detentions for coinciding with the escalating campaign against Jihad cadres at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.
Meanwhile, the same apparatus in Jenin city summoned the youngest son of Sheikh Jamal Abul Haija, the Hamas leader who is serving nine life sentences in addition to 20 years in Israeli prisons and who is currently held in isolation in Nafha desert prison.
Sources close to the family told the PIC reporter that the apparatus sent a written summons to Hamza Abul Haija, 18, on Saturday.
They said that several mediations were made to convince the apparatus not to summon Hamza since his mother was hospitalized a few days ago with brain tumor and because of the reconciliation atmosphere but the apparatus insisted and summoned him again on the phone on Monday.
