Member of Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc of Lebanon MP Walid Succaria said the lesson learned from the Resistance and Liberation Day is that whatever had been took by force can only be retrieved by force.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Lebanese MP stressed the necessity to build a deterrence force that prevents the Israeli enemy from thinking to launch any aggression against Lebanon.

Succaria expressed beliefs that “May 15 march near the borders with occupied Palestine represented a new Intifada in the face of all proposals and offers that may grant Palestinians a quasi-state and drop the right of return.”
While noting that US President Barack Obama intentionally forgot to mention Al-Quds during his recent speech, Succaria considered Obama’s accusations against Hezbollah of carrying out “political assassination” came in the framework of satisfying the Zionist Lobby on the US elections’ eve.

The bloc member also highlighted that the level of conspiracy targeting Assad’s regime is very huge, expressing beliefs that the security events facing Syria could take some time before being resolved. “Developments in Syria will determine the fate of the Middle East,” he said.

During the interview, MP Succaria congratulated the Lebanese people on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, paying tribute in particular to the Resistance fighters who made this day and achieved the victory.

“The policy stating that Lebanon’s strength resides in its weakness does not liberate the land. Resorting to the United Nations or to the international community protecting the Israeli enemy is also baseless. The land is to be liberated only through sacrifices of the Resistance,” he clarified.

Succaria emphasized that a part of Lebanon’s land is still under occupation and threatened by Israel. He spoke in this context of Israeli targets in Lebanon as part of the Zionist scheme targeting Lebanon and the region. He warned as well that the so-called peaceful compromises would come at the expense of Lebanon, especially with respect to dropping the right of return.

While highlighting the many challenges facing Lebanon and its future, Succaria stressed the necessity to build a deterrence force that helps the country to prevent the Israeli enemy from thinking to launch any aggression against it.

“The major factor of any country’s strength remains the unity of its front and society,” Succaria said, wishing that such unity could be achieved in Lebanon, but admitting that Lebanon remains divided between two camps, one of which is fully betting on the United States - Israel’s ally - and serving the American project which threatens Lebanon; while the second is the resistance camp which confronted the enemy and liberated the land from occupation.

LIBERATION… LESSON TO THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE

The March to Palestine, May 15, 2010

Asked about the impact of the Resistance and Liberation Day on Palestinian people in light of the recent Return to Palestine March, Lebanese MP noted that the liberation of 2000 was a lesson to the Palestinians, “just after which the second Palestinian Intifada had been launched,” Succaria recalled.

“Palestinian nation has finally perceived that the Zionist movement would never grant them their basic rights, and that they would not be able to retrieve anything without paying sacrifices, reflected by the Intifada, which played a major role in the Palestinian conflict against the Zionist enemy,” Succaria was quoted as saying.

He also expressed beliefs that the May 15 march constituted a new Palestinian Intifada in the face of all semi-solutions and all attempts to solve the Palestinian cause through compromises, that won’t see light because will be rejected by the Palestinian people themselves.

OBAMA IGNORED AL-QUDS

As for the latest two speeches of US President Obama, Succaria remarked that the first speech, which was awaited by the region’s nations, didn’t include any initiative as expected.

“Obama intended to ignore Al-Quds in his speech to say that negotiations should come first over security and land,” he noted.

Yet, the MP put Obama’s speech in the framework of his preparations for the US presidential elections. “We became used to the fact that presidential candidates compete to satisfy the Zionist movement for getting the Jewish community’s votes in the election,” he said.

Asked about Obama’s accusations for Hezbollah of performing what he called “political assassination,” Succaria said it was another attempt to satisfy the Zionists and the Jewish lobby by assailing Hezbollah, Syria and Iran.

Turning to the developments in Syria, member of Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc spoke about the possibility of creating a new front based on Syria, Iraq and Iran. “Such front could achieve military superiority and lead therefore to the end of Israel and the weakening of the American control over the region. This is what scares the US, Israel, Europe and some Arab regimes.”

While noting that this whole alliance is conspiring against Syria, Succaria highlighted that some parties want the situation in Syria to remain tensed in order to claim instability and the Syrian people’s desire to topple the regime, so that US administration can justify for itself taking some anti-regime stances.

Succaria stressed, meanwhile, the absence of any popular uprising in Syria: “The majority of the Syrian people are in solidarity with the regime. They demand reforms and this is normal. However, they reject sedition and civil war,” the MP concluded.

In a related stance, Succaria warned that Lebanon would be harmed by the Syrian instability. “Any problem in Syria is to be reflected on the whole region and on Lebanon at first,” he cautioned. “If instability in Syria continues, Lebanon would be mostly harmed as Lebanese commerce with the Gulf region would collapse since it takes place through Syria. The tourism season would also be hit.”
