In the cable, bearing the number (08BEIRUT505), April 11, 2008, Michele Sison for the Egyptian Ambassador was told by Egypt's ambassador, Ahmed Al Bidewi that Hezbollah officials assured him that the party has a private network of telecommunications, adding «How do you think we have resisted in 2006? ». According to the American Chargé d'affaires, the Egyptian Ambassador told her that PM Siniora briefed him on the map showing the spread of the network in Lebanon. And Hamadeh, who scheduled a special meeting with Sison on April 16 (08BEIRUT523). Hamadeh began the meeting by saying that «the Iran Telecom controlled Lebanon». He further added that he relayed the details of the network to the «friends» around the world, in the Arab States, France and the United States, as well as the headmaster of resolution 1559, Terje Roed-Larsen.Hamadeh saw that there are only two ways the GOL could deal with the issue of the communications network in question, by either resorting to the UNSC or use the "cloak of municipal councils friendly to the March14 to cut the lines... He wondered whether the Lebanese army and ISF had the courage to do the job, knowing that Hezbollah informed the Lebanese security officials that they would deal with any alteration to the network, as if it was an Israeli aggression. Hamadeh told Sison that he informed French FM Bernard Kouchner and advisers to French President Nicolas Sarkozy with details of the data, as well as the ambassadors of France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Beirut. Moreover, Hamadeh said that MP Saad Hariri immediately sent a special plane to Saudi Arabia to provide the King and Saudi intelligence chief Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, a copy of the maps..."
