RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The inhumane conditions of Palestinian minors held in Israeli prisons must be given broader attention, said the Center for Defense of Liberties and Civil Rights.
This came in a report the rights center issued on Wednesday after it dispatched its legal expert for a visit to Israel’s Rimonim prison where she met with several minors.
During the interview, the minors expressed strong discontent of the length of delays in court hearings, particularly those who expected to receive light sentences.
The CDLCR lawyer also met with some of the adult prison population during the visit. They said the prison conditions have worsened with a string of measures of collective punishment by the prison administration after prisoners carried out wide-scale protests in at least four prisons.
The measures include a ban on family visits and on purchasing meat and vegetables from canteen and medical neglect.- IOF soldiers round up eight West Bankers
