GOVERNORATES, (SANA)_Provocative media channels have shifted in their coverage of the situation in Syria from fabricating news and videos to direct interference in the course of events. The channels have begun to give veiled instructions to rioters, criminals and armed groups to head to appointed sites through airing false news and naming certain places. Analysts and academics saw that this shift in media coverage demonstrates failure in provoking chaos and demoralizing the Syrian society in service of foreign agendas, which led the foreign sides behind these channels to use them to give instructions to the tools of the conspiracy on the ground. Member of People's Assembly Khaled al-Abboud said that media has become a tool employed against Syria, indicating that these channels are engaged in misleading campaigns as part of foreign plots. Al-Abboud told SANA that these channels have gone beyond their role to perform intelligence and security missions through focusing on certain places as potential goals for saboteurs, even defining the places to be vandalized or likely to be gathering points for protestors. Nahla Issa, Deputy Rector of the Journalism Faculty at Damascus University, said that the instigative channels work as part of a scheme against Syria in order to stir disorder and confusion among the Syrian society. Issa underlined the role of national media in repelling the ferocious media campaign against Syria and shedding light on the comprehensive reform program. Political analyst Taleb Ibrahim said the media campaign against Syria has escalated through employing psychological warfare to harm the morale of the Syrian citizens. Secretary of Sweida City Council Khaled Kerbaj saw that Zionism uses media as a weapon based on promulgating lies and fabricated news to undermine the morale of people through imposing a virtual war, considering that these tactics have failed miserably due to the awareness of the Syrian people.
