Bardawil: Hamas does not ponder an alternative location for its leadership

[ 04/10/2011 - 09:41 AM ]
GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, a Hamas leader, has categorically denied Lebanese press reports that the Hamas leadership was planning to move its headquarters from Damascus to Manama.
He told Quds Press that Hamas was not even thinking of the step and no one had asked her to do so.
Bardawil described as fabrication the news report that "Hamas was planning to move to Manama after previous attempts to relocate its leadership in Cairo and Amman had failed."
“This is completely untrue”, he said, adding that his movement does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.
The Lebanese paper Al-Liwa on Monday quoted “well informed Palestinian sources” as saying that Hamas leaders have decided to move their main offices to Manama in the wake of the ongoing internal unrest in Syria and that the Hamas leadership was denying the news so as to avoid any friction with the Syrian leadership.
