Russia-China: ‘No regime change in Syria’

On Tuesday, both Russia and China vetoed a ZOGs-sponsored UN Security Council resolution to slap ‘crippling sanctions’ against Syrian regime of President Bashar Assad if it didn’t immediately halt its military crackdown against armed insurgents supported by the US-Israel-France.

The vote was 9-2 with four abstenions – India, South Africa, Brazil and Lebanon. It was China’s sixth veto and Russia’s 124th.

America which has used 50 vetoes (out of total of 87) to shield the Zionist entity - says both Russia and China are supporting the wrong side. United States ambassador Susan Rice showed her country’s subservience to Israel by walking out when Syrian ambassador Bashar Ja’afari blamed western powers for turning blind eye to Israeli barbarism of last six decades.

“A certain state has used its veto power 50 times to protect Israel and still threatens to use it again. This could amount to be an accomplice in genocide. This conduct is equal to turning a blind eye to and supporting the Israeli massacre in the occupied Arab territories and it used the developments in Syria to divert the international public opinions away from the legitimate Palestinian demands,” he said.

Syria under Hafiz Assad’s Ba’athist regime was American Ally all the way into 1990s. However, later Damascus started cozing-up with Tehran. In 2005, US-Israel blamed Syria for the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri to shield Israel and recalled its ambassador from Damascus. Later, US-Israel changed their tune and first blamed Tehran and later Hizbullah for the assassination.

The Jewish Lobby played a major role in blocking US-Syria diplomatic relation. In January 2011, Washington sent Robert Stephen Ford as its ambassador to Damascus after five years ahead of anti-government riots. Ford was appointed by Barack Obama during the recess of Senate from December 22, 2010 to January 5, 2011 without Senate’s approval. Ford is member of the powerful Zioncon think tank CFR and the convicted pro-Israeli Jew Elliot Abrams praised Ford twice recently in the CFR magazine.

In July 2011, Syria’s government accused Robert Ford and French ambassador Eric Chevallier of meeting “saboteurs” in the flashpoint city of Hama and inciting protests against President Bashar al-Assad.

“The US ambassador met with saboteurs in Hama – who erected checkpoints, cut traffic and prevented citizens from going to work,” the interior ministry said in a statement.

“The ambassador incited these saboteurs to violence, to demonstrate, and to refuse dialogue,” with the government, it added.

Later both ambassadors were pelted with eggs and tomatoes in Christian neighborhood in Damascus.
Russia, which stands firmly against any mention of sanctions citing the example of Libya where the NATO countries largely overstepped the UN mandate in a military operation against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime, said the text of the document was “unacceptable” despite several changes to the draft.

Interestingly, both Russia and China went along United States in case of four Crippling Sanctions against Islamic Republic.
