An engineering unit on Thursday dismantled “three explosive devices planted by an armed terrorist group” in the Homs neighborhood of Bustan al-Diwan in Syria without causing any damage or injuries, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported. SANA’s correspondent in Homs said that “the explosive devices were made manually and set to explode by remote control.” The report also said that the site where the explosives were planted is heavily populated. On the other hand, an armed terrorist group in Homs on Thursday targeted Director of Field Engineering Faculty, Brigadier General Abdul Karim al-Dairi, in al-Misherfeh Town in Homs. The terrorist group opened fire on the Officer and his companions while he was heading to work, causing him injuries. Also during the day, an armed terrorist group targeted a car, killing a chief warrant officer and injuring another member on a road at the Province. Gen. Adnan Merhi. It kept its decisions secret in accordance with the law but said in the terse statement that discussions focused on the security measures taken in the country. The meeting in Baabda presidential palace was headed by President Michel Sleiman. It was attended by Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn, Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and other ministers, to discuss the security situation in the country. Army commander General Jean Kahwaji, Internal Security Forces Director General Achraf Rifi, General Security chief General Abbas Ibrahim, State Security chief General George Qoraa and Army Intelligence commander General Edmond Fadel also participated in the meeting.
