Egyptian Minister: US Wanted Revolution to Serve America-Israel’s Benefits

International Cooperation Minister Fayza Abu Naga accused the United States of trying to control the Egyptian revolution and deviate it in a way that serves its benefits and those of the Zionist entity.
Abu Naga said, during her testimony in the investigations of the civil society organizations case, that “the United States used up all its efforts and tools to contain the revolution and deviate it in a way that could also serve the American and Israeli benefits.”

“It is hard for America and Israel to directly create and keep a state of chaos in Egypt, therefore America began funding these organizations to achieve these goals,” she explained.
Abu Naga further pointed out that “all the evidence revealed that there was an insistence on frustrating any chance for Egypt to rise as a modern, democratic country with a strong economy, which would be the greatest threat for the Israeli-American benefits in the region.”

She went on saying that “the 25th of January revolution created an opportunity for an Egyptian rise, which was a real historic chance for Egypt to occupy the position that suits its regional and international value and stance.”

The Egyptian minister added that America “found that the way to frustrate this historic chance was by creating a state of chaos, which the regional and international forces that are opponent to Egypt could use to rearrange their files after the revolution.”

In this field, investigations revealed that the United States have provided a large amount of funding to Egyptian and American organizations performing from inside Egypt since the revolution began.
An Egyptian judicial source stated on the 3rd of February that 44 people, including 19 Americas, will be prosecuted in the case.

The bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States tensed since the decision to judicially trace these activists came out, which urged a US senator to warn of a “catastrophic” alienation between the two countries.
