Jerusalem, Gaza siege focus of Haneyya talks with King of Bahrain

MANAMA, (PIC)-- Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya had an in-depth discussion with King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa in Manama on Saturday over a number of important topics.
The discussion focused on Jerusalem and the Israeli Judaization attempts of the holy city and the rising settlement activity in addition to the siege on Gaza and its power crisis.
Haneyya called for greater Arab and Islamic moves to save Jerusalem and to boost its inhabitants’ steadfastness.
He also explained the situation in Gaza as a result of the Israeli blockade and war that left hundreds of victims and vast destruction.
For his part, the Bahraini monarch hailed the Palestinian people’s steadfastness and struggle, and declared full support for the Palestine cause.
He stressed his country’s support for the issue of Jerusalem in its capacity as a “central issue”, describing it as a red line.
Haneyya arrived in Bahrain earlier Saturday from Qatar at the second leg of his tour that started about a week ago.

MANAMA, (PIC)-- Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya arrived in the Bahraini capital Manama on Saturday from Doha, Qatar on the second leg of his tour.
Haneyya is expected to meet with King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa on Saturday evening, Taher Al-Nunu, the Palestinian government’s spokesman who is accompanying Haneyya on his tour, said in a statement.
Haneyya announced in Doha that the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani had promised to reconstruct Gaza Strip, and stressed the importance of expediting an end to the Gaza siege.
He told the Friday congregation that Sheikh Hamad would generously reconstruct all destroyed homes in Gaza and would contribute in a number of other projects.

[ 04/02/2012 - 10:28 AM ] DOHA, (PIC)-- Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya said the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani promised him to reconstruct what was destroyed by the Israeli occupation during the war on the Gaza Strip.
"With openhanded and generous support from Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin-Khalifa Al Thani, the destroyed homes in Gaza will be reconstructed and a lot of projects will be established," premier Haneyya said in his Friday khutba (sermon) in Mohamed bin-Abdulwahab Mosque in Doha.
Haneyya thanked Qatar and its leadership for supporting Gaza people for more than three years and hailed the Doha-based Al-Jazeera satellite channel for its positions in favor of the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian leader also told the congregation about the dangers threatening the occupied city of Jerusalem and warned that the holy city is facing the most malicious Judaization campaign ever carried out since its occupation by the Zionists.
"I am not saying that as a media stunt, but honestly Jerusalem is in real danger, and I place this matter in your hand so that we can work together to save it," he added.
The premier also talked about the Israeli blockade on Gaza and urged the Qatari people to intensify their efforts to break it.
He also urged Egypt and the Arab and Islamic countries to come together to support Gaza in the face of Israel's siege and aggression.
