Israel Reinforces Special Training ahead of ’Nakba Day’

Nakba Day 2011, Lebanese-Palestinian bordersIn run-up to May 15, the Zionist occupation army is seeking to avoid repercussions of “Nakba Day” protests expected next month and has sent snipers for special training to sharpen their skills ahead of planned demonstrations along the borders of Occupied Territories, the ‘Israeli’ daily Jerusalem Post reported Monday.

A few weeks ago, the Zionist military and Police went on high alert to prevent the Global March to Jerusalem organized inside the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and many other points of the Occupied Territories including Jerusalem (al-Quds).

However, the ‘Israeli’ Occupation Forces is concerned that it will face on May 15 a repeat of last year’s Nakba Day when Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Syria organized mass protests across the borders with Palestine, and one of them, Hasan Hijazi, succeeded in about crossing inside the occupied territories from Syria.

Ahead of the planned demonstrations, the Zionist military recently completed the erection of a new fence along the Syrian border as well as the creation of new minefields aimed at preventing infiltrations. It has been also training its sniper units to target protesters’ legs in a “nonfatal way.”

According to the JPost, the Zionist government has passed on messages to UNIFIL in Lebanon in recent weeks warning that it will use force to prevent an infiltration of its border. Last year, the Lebanese Armed Forces were heavily deployed along the border and actively prevented demonstrators from approaching the border.

The JPost noted in its report that Zionist military and the civil administration are coordinating with Palestinian Authority security forces in the West Bank, in order to enable Palestinians to protest in a way that will not lead to an escalation in violence. Expected hotspots will once again include the Kalandiya crossing between Jerusalem (al-Quds) and Ramallah.

“Nakba Day”, or the “Day of Catastrophe”, marks the illegitimate creation of the Zionist occupying entity over the holy lands of Palestine, which led to the evacuation of a whole people from its homeland, to live as refugees in camps distributed across the world countries.
