Dissident to Al-Manar: Syria Doesn’t Live Revolution, but Transitional Phase

The Syrian Dissident Al-Tayyeb TiziniA local Syrian opposition figure may believe the current regime doesn’t fulfil his political requirements, however, both sides express commitment to fight the so-called “Israel”.

Al-Manar Website met Al-Tayyeb Tizini, a professor of philosophy at the University of Damascus, and one of the opposition figures in Syria, granting him the opportunity to express wrath towards the security situation and to assure that resisting the Zionist enemy is the choice of the whole Syrian people.

During an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Tizini held the Syrian regime responsible for the security deterioration, and noted that "the Syrian revolution will stay on the track until victory”!

The dissident confirmed however that what is required in Syria is the reform, but it became crystal clear during his speech that the eye is not on the reform process, but the efforts are exerted to make the whole problem confined to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Syrian philosopher pointed out that reform process should have to start in Syria since years, even though Assad “was the pioneer to introduce the reform process since coming to power in 2000, until he was besieged by those officials surrounding him.”

“President Bashar al-Assad has a good heart, but the problem lies in those around him,” Tizini told Al-Manar Website.

During the interview, the opposition figure said that Syrian officials had contacts with him since a period of time, offering that he participates in formulating “a political exit for the crisis away from military option,” before communication were cut off between both sides.
Being asked whether the ongoing violence and mass murdering in Syria, supported by foreign countries, could be named as “revolution,” the philosophy teacher answered that “it is not a whole sense revolution, but the current incidents are ready to turn into a revolution.. It is a transitional period.”

Tizini held the Syrian regime responsible for the security events in Syria: “Today, the situation requires the State to fulfill its duties, or else, it should step down.”

Answering a question on the opposition response to the regime calls for dialogue amid the bloodshed and chaos for the sake of a “homeland”, he said: “Let us ask: who started the shedding of blood?,” offering one loose alternative to solve the crisis: “Re-uniting the people.”

Tizini justified the foreign intervention by the fragility of the Syrian components.

Syrian People, Resisting People

What provokes the Syrian opposition figure more is the talk on open international war against Syria due to its stances supporting the Resistance.

“The Syrian people – and not the Syrian regime - have the credit in supporting the resistance forces in the region,” he stressed, recalling that the people of Syria have opened their homes to host the displaced Lebanese during the July 2006 War on Lebanon.
