Iran has launched the production line of ScanEagle drones,
Navy Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced
Monday, adding that the Islamic Republic has downed three drones of this
type.
On the sidelines of the Seminar on Geography, Development, Defense and
Security, rear admiral Ali Fadavi, said "the production line of ScanEagle drones
has been has been installed in Iran, and stressed that the information of the
two captured drones has been decrypted.”
The U.S. ScanEagle drone, one of which was recently captured by the IRGC in
the Persian Gulf, was the third aircraft of its kind downed by Iranian forces,
Fadavi was quoted as saying.
On Dec. 4, Iran's naval force of IRGC had downed an U.S. drone over the
Persian Gulf in Iran's waters.
The Navy Commander stated that since long time IRGC Navy and Air Force has
brought ScanEagle into use, the products being operated for missions. He also
said that ScanEagle is a hi-tech device, with 30 hours flight endurance.
This drone has broken the flight record with 1.5 millions of hours.
