Saad Hariri Steps Down as PM-Designate

Hariri, who spent one-fourth of his seventy-thirty days abroad under the pretext of private vacations, made use once again to his own "logic" to "justify" his stepping down, hinting that the national oppositions was responsible of his "failure" for the mere reason that it rejected abandoning its fundamental rights.
"Given that my commitment to forming a government of national unity has run up against difficulties that everyone now knows about, I announce that I have informed the president of the republic that I have abandoned trying to form a government," the former PM-Designate told journalists following talks with President Michel Sleiman at his summer residence in Beiteddine.
"I hope that this decision will be in the interests of Lebanon and will permit a re-launch of dialogue," Hariri said.
One day earlier, Hariri revealed that he would take "decisive steps" in the coming two or three days that are in the best interest of the country. "When it comes to principles I am very stubborn and will never ignore political issues related to Lebanon's independence and stability," Hariri told an Iftar in Qoreitem on Wednesday.
Hariri was tasked to start negotiations to form a new government on the 27 of June, days after the Lebanese accepted the bone crushing legislative elections' results, and following significant improvement in Saudi-Syrian relations' all indications that Lebanon will have a government very soon. Yet, the much-awaited partnership cabinet didn't see light…
