GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Buthayna Shaaban, the political and information advisor to the Syrian president, called on Tuesday for dealing with the Palestinian cause as the world did with the issue of South Africa in the past.
These remarks were made during a reception and a charity evening held by Al-Quds international institution - Syria branch on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan in order to raise funds to finance projects in the occupied city of Jerusalem and mobilize all efforts to confront the ongoing Zionist attacks on the city.
In her speech, Dr. Shaaban, also the head of the board of trustees in Al-Quds institution, said that as the world stood up against the apartheid system, the occupation and the ethnic cleansing in South Africa, it should do the same thing with these issues in occupied Palestine.
“We must support the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem and help them to remain steadfast in the face of the ongoing Israeli attacks,” the Syrian advisor underlined.
She added that the exposure of Israeli crimes against the Palestinians in the media and the growing calls for boycotting Israel for its endless violations of human rights especially its building of the apartheid wall reflected the fact that the Palestinian cause became a global issue because it is a cause of justice and defense against discrimination and ethnic cleansing.
