GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Taleb Abu Shaar, the minister of endowments and religious affairs in Gaza, has warned of the total collapse of the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem as a result of a natural or induced geological phenomenon.
Abu Shaar, in a press statement on Sunday, said that the Israeli occupation authority's (IOA) excavations under the holy site were meant to weaken its foundations.
He referred to a statement by the Arab geologists union that warned of the seriousness of those diggings along with the IOA nuclear tests under the Negev desert with the aim of inducing earthquakes leading to the demolition of the Aqsa.
The hole in one of the streets of Silwan, south of the Aqsa Mosque, recently was the result of a land cave-in in a clear indication that the area was gradually being affected by those factors, the minister said.
He expressed regret at the Arab silence over what is going on in occupied Jerusalem, and asked the Arab and Islamic countries to immediately act to punish the occupiers for their escalating crimes against the Aqsa, Jerusalem and Jerusalemites.
