OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Palestinian Jerusalemites confronted Zionist settlers who stormed their neighborhood in Silwan, south of occupied Jerusalem, at a late hour on Saturday but were quelled by Israeli border policemen.

Local sources said that 20 citizens were hurt in the incident three of whom suffered gunshot wounds, two were directly hit by a teargas canister and a stun grenade while the others suffered breathing problems.

They said that the citizens threw stones at the police cars as the policemen cordoned off the Rajabi neighborhood.

Silwan is a hotbed of tension as the inhabitants try to ward off the ceaseless Israeli attempts to judaize their town.
