Several Israelis have been injured after 90 rockets fired from Gaza Strip landed in Israel forcing Minister of Military Affairs Ehud Barak to declare state of emergency across Israel.

Egyptians have held an anti-Israeli protest at Cairo's Liberation Square demanding the country to recall its ambassador from Tel Aviv following deadly Israeli airstrikes against Gaza.

Ahmad al-Jaabri, the deputy commanding general of Qassam Brigades, and his body guard have been assassinated during the assault. Israel had tried to assassinate Ahmad al-Jaabri numerous times. The Israeli shelling targeted his car near a hospital in center of Gaza City.
The Israeli army announced targeting the deputy commanding general of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades in an "accurate" strike on Wednesday evening.
"The occupation has opened the gates of hell on itself," said a statement from the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, which vowed its militants would "continue the path of resistance."
Fawzi Barhum, a spokesman for the political wing of Hamas said "The occupation committed a dangerous crime and crossed all the red lines, which is considered a declaration of war,"

Israel's Shin Bet domestic intelligence service has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that it had killed Jabari because of his decade-long anti-Israel activities.
In recent days, Israeli officials had said that they were considering assassinating top Hamas officials following a wave of heavy rocket fire from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said that the military was prepared for a ground operation in Gaza, with a spokesman saying: "All options are on the table."
Following the Israeli airstrikes, Palestinians launched some 10 rockets at Beersheba, two rockets at the coastal city of Ashkelon, and two more at the Eshkol region. Residents within range of rocket fire from Gaza were requested to remain within 15 seconds of a shelter. School was called off for Thursday throughout the south, including in Beersheba, Ashdod and Ashkelon. The police raised alert levels amid fears of terror attacks.
The Israeli raids came despite the Palestinian resistance announcing commitment to stop firing of rockets at Israeli cities and towns.
In a press statement to Al-Jazeera, Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman blaimed "Israel" for not abiding by the understandings that have been reached through Egyptian mediation.

Egypt Brotherhood demanded Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to reconsider the Egyptian-Israeli relations. Mursi threatened his Great Friend Shylock Peres that he would call his Ambassador.
The FJP has urged the Egyptian president to review all ties with Israel, adding that the attacks by Israel required “swift Arab and international action to stop the massacres.”
The Egyptian Health Ministry also called on Morsi to annul all pacts with Israel.
According to Al-Mayadeen Israel awaiting a response from Egyptian President if Hamas would abide by the truce.
