ANSARULLAH: SAUDI, ISRAELI SPIES ARRESTED IN YEMEN

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Yemeni forces have arrested a number of Saudi and Israeli spies and agents who planned to conduct sabotage operations in Yemen, a senior Ansarullah commander disclosed on Monday.

“The captured agents intended to carry out military operations in Yemen after taking control of several airports and military bases,” the commander, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told FNA today.

The Ansarullah commander underlined that the apprehended agents spied for Saudi Arabia and Israel, and said, “The identity of the captured agents will not be disclosed for now” due to security reasons.

He reiterated that the special operations were conducted in cooperation with the Yemeni army’s intelligence forces.

The clashes between the Ansarullah fighters and the Saudi-backed al-Qaeda terrorists as well as the pro-Hadi militias continue in the Southern parts of the country as Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 26 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 2,700 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued on March 26.
