After its defeat in Kobani, ISIL lost large swathes of territory in the provinces of Aleppo and Hasaka in addition to more than 50 villages and farms in the northern countryside of Raqqa.
Last week, the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) managed to control the city of Tal Abyad as well as its crossing, what blocked ISIL supply from Turkey.
The Kurdish forces controlled in the past two days Ain Issa city and the position of the brigade 93 which is 56 kilometers away from Raqqa.
Accordingly, ISIL was obliged to deploy more of its terrorists across Raqqa in order to face the advancing Kurdish fighters as the area that separates the two sides is a plain which lacks fortifications.
