Palestinians and the Zionist police clashed at Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem for a second straight day on Monday as the occupation police stormed the compound, threw stun grenades and fired rubber bullets in the courtyards.
Monday clashes left five Palestinians wounded, including an old man who is in critical condition.
"About 150 Zionist policemen stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on Monday morning, using stun grenades and rubber bullets," director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Kiswani, told Anatolia news agency.
The Zionist police arrested seven worshipers who were at the gates of the roofed mosque (south of the Al-Aqsa mosque), and wounded five others, including an elderly whose injury was described as serious in his eye.
"The Israeli police closed the gates of the mosque to prevent worshipers from coming out of it," kesrouani said, adding that the troops also prevented worshipers from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque in full.
The Zionist entity seized east Jerusalem, where Al-Aqsa is located, in the Six Day War of 1967 on Palestine and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the international community.

Al-Aqsa in Real Danger: Zionist Settlers, IOF Strom Compound, Attack Worshippers
Dozens of Palestinians were wounded as Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and assaulted worshippers in the holy complex.
Al-Manar correspondent in al-Quds reported that Israeli Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, backed with dozens of Zionist settlers and other dozens of Israeli occupation forces, stormed the holy mosque shortly after dawn to celebrate the so-called “Jewish New Year”.
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) forced the Palestinian worshippers to get out of the holy compound, as they destroyed the windows of al-Qibli Mosque (which lies near Al-Aqsa Mosque in the holy compound) , our correspondent, Deeb Hourani added.
He said that the IOF also seized the firefighting equipments in al-Qibli Mosque, where peaceful Palestinian insisted to stay and prevent the Zionists from desecrating the holy compound.
The occupation forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and stun grenades on peaceful worshippers, Hourani added.
Dozens of Palestinians were injured in the Israeli assault, including a child who was hit with a rubber-coated bullet in his chest, according to our correspondent.
The occupation forces also assaulted employees of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowment, including Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani the director of the compound, Hourani said.
Meanwhile, international news agencies adopt the Israeli story of the attack, which says that clashes between Palestinians and occupation forces erupted after “police were pursuing Palestinian suspects who had barricaded themselves in and who responded by throwing rocks and fireworks,” BBC reported.
However, our correspondent firmly denied such reports, stressing that the Palestinian worshippers are peaceful and have nothing to confront the occupation forces with but their bodies.
