Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said negotiation with the United States is forbidden.
In a meeting with a group of commanders and staff of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Navy here on Wednesday, the Leader said negotiation with the US is banned because of the many disadvantages it has and the advantages it absolutely lacks.
“There is a reason for our objection to negotiations with the US; the US engagement in talks with Iran means infiltration. They want to pave the way to impose themselves,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
He went on to stress that “during the nuclear negotiations, the US administration made attempts to infiltrate at any spot they were able to.
"Thanks God, the Iranian side was vigilant enough, but still at certain points they somehow managed to get chances and did a move contrary to our national interests,” his eminence stated.
The Supreme Leader said talks with the US is forbidden for the considerable harm it does and the good it never does.
“This is different from engaging in talks with a government which lacks the same equipment or motivation ( as US).”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the current problem affecting the country was coming from lax and perhaps permissive individuals who fail to understand the point.
Certainly, the Supreme Leader said, such persons are in minority compared to the massive wave of revolutionary people but they are active, they keep writing, repeating the same thing and persisting with the help of enemies.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that at the present juncture, enemies were trying to transform the revolutionary attitudes of officials and religious beliefs of people.
Urging the youth to stay quite vigilant, he noted that he has nothing to worry about in this regard thanks to the awareness of universities and army forces.
