Abdollahian Says Saudi Seeking Iran’s Help to End Yemen War

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Saudi was seeking Iran’s help to find solution for the crisis in Yemen.
In a meeting wiIran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian th Director General of Morocco’s Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) Khalil Al-Hashem Al-Idrisi, Abdollahian said Iran supported resolution of Yemen crisis and accepted Saudi demand for Iran’s help in this regard, IRNA news agency reported.
Meanwhile, Sputnik news quoted Abdollahian as saying that Saudi had sent an envoy to Saudi Arabia in a bid to find a way to end the Yemeni war.

Commenting on Iran-Saudi relations, the official called for close cooperation between Tehran and Riyadh, adding that dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia is beneficial to both countries, the region and the Islamic World, IRNA reported.
He said dialogue will help remove certain misunderstandings between the two countries.
Noting that Saudi Arabia is suffering from misconceptions, he said Riyadh holds the false notion that Iran in involved in secret talks with the US regional issues while the truth is Iran talked with Americans only on nuclear issues.
The official expressed the hope that ties with Saudi Arabia will resume its normal conditions.
On the other hand, Abdollahian said his country welcomes political solutions to regional crises, stressing that these solutions should be settled by regional people.
The Iranian official said that Iran did not approve of proxy war in Syria, pointing to the 1600-kilometer-long borderline Iran shared with Iraq and said what happens in Syria and Iraq effects Iran’s security as well.
Unfortunately certain regional and foreign security administrations manipulated terrorists for political purposes and provoked unrests in Syria, Amir-Abdollahian noted.
The Iranian  diplomat meanwhile, stressed that Iran has sent its military advisors to Syria upon the Damascus’ request to fight terrorism in a move to safeguard its security against the threat of terrorists and the danger of Zionist regime.
Amir-Abdollahian underlined that Iran’s proposal for resolution of Syria crisis is based on respecting the ceasefire, formation of national transition government, drafting a new constitution by Syrians themselves and holding parliamentarian and presidential elections there.
He said Syrians themselves should decide about President Bashar al-Assad future in a democratic way.
On the other hand, Deputy foreign minister expressed his satisfaction with moderate stance of Morocco towards regional developments.
