This is the story of martyred Iraqi moujahid Hussnayn al-Sa’adi of Harakat Hizbullah al-Nujaba, may he rest in power and in dignity and be appreciated by the Angels (A.S.) until the end of time. He was martyred in Syria on February 2nd, 2015 and it is a story that has never been told before up until now. The reason for writing it at this very moment in time is rather simplistic: We are in the midst of the first 10 days of the Muharram, that painful time when we relive the suffering of Imam Hussein (A.S.) and the Karbala 72, as well as reflect on how the sacrifices made on Youm al-Ashoura 680 A.D. (61 A.H.) affect us all today when thrown against the backdrop of the current geopolitical landscape. So what better time to recount the life of a Shahid as Husseini as Hussnayn al-Saadi than this one?! Born in Kufa and raised in Karbala, Hussnayn would begin his life as a moujahid at the tender age of 18 when the American-Zionist aggression was launched against Iraq. He joined the ranks of the Mahdi Army before heading towards Asa’ib Ahlul Haq and was known for his fiery demeanor, love of Palestine and passion for the Holy Qur’an, attributes which he put to good use on the battlefield, hyping up his fellow fighters in the confrontation against the invaders. Hussnayn would partake in liberating Basra from US-British occupation as well as several key battles in and around Baghdad.
But it wasn’t until the US-‘Israeli’ conspiracy against Syria was launched that Hussnayn’s legend really began to be etched into the stars. He was one of the founding members of the Abou Fadhl al-Abbas (A.S.) Brigade that formed in Damascus to protect the Sayyeda Zaynab (A.S.) shrine in early 2012 and after over two years of engaging in numerous fierce operations against the Takfiri terrorist scourge which led to the strategic–not to mention sanctified–site being secured, he returned to Iraq to battle the same enemy now calling itself ISIS. He initially joined the Imam Ali (A.S.) Brigade, serving as a mortar specialist and participating in the liberationist fights for Samarra, Beiji, Tikrit and Jaref al-Sakher (‘Rocky Cliff’, which Iraqis now call Jaref al-Nasr) alongside the Lebanese Islamic Resistance of Hizbullah–whose moujahideen referred to Hussnayn as a “lofty lion”–as well as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Sheikh Akram al-Kaabi, the leader of Harakat Hizbullah al-Nujaba (HHN), noticed Hussnayn and was impressed beyond words by his ferocity in the struggle against MossadDaesh and offered him a spot as an HHN commander, a position which Hussnayn happily accepted. Hussnayn would be deployed to Aleppo for a most important impending battle in January 2015: the liberation of the twin Shi’a towns of Nubl and Al-Zahra, which had been besieged by Wahahbi fanatics for nearly four years
Hussnayn was on the front lines from the start of the operation and following close to a month of savage warfare, Resistance Axis forces gained the upper hand on February 2nd, 2015 and never looked back. After liberating the imperative areas of Tal Jibeen, Al-Maalah Farms and Hardatneen, Hussnayn and his brothers set their sights on Rityan and Bayyanoun, strategic villages that the Takfiris were using to shell Nubl and Al-Zahra just about daily. HHN, Iraq’s Kata’ib Hizbullah, the Hizbullah-trained NDF and Hizbullah itself blasted through Rityan with seeming ease and were on the verge of entering Bayyanoun when terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham launched a surprise attack, martyring several fighters from each Mouqawamah organization. Before the Takfiris could dig in however and truly halt the advance, Hussnayn, who had stayed back to help a wounded comrade and wasn’t holed up with the rest of his contingent, took the reins of a gun turret and began firing at terrorist positions from all sides, sending Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham into a state of panic. Hizbullah capitalized on the chaos and spearheaded the counterattack, breaking down the Zionist-backed mercenaries’ defenses and paving the way for reinforcements from the IRGC, PFLP-GC and Syrian Arab Army to finish the job and open the gates to Nubl And Al-Zahra. That is indeed exactly what occurred.
In the midst of Hizbullah’s brilliant on-the-fly maneuver though, Hussnayn’s position was ultimately (and unfortunately) discovered. He was shot dead by Jabhat al-Nusra snipers – once in the chest, once in the stomach and twice in the head – but not before he bought the Lebanese Islamic Resistance all the time it needed to turn the tables. If it wasn’t for Hussnayn’s quick thinking , only ALLAH (SWT) knows where Nubl and Al-Zahra would be now. It was the kind of development that had to have occurred right then and right there, in that very nanosecond, or everything would be different, not to mention worse. And like the legendary Hizbullah heroes Ali “Bilal” Saleh (R.A.) who led the Wadi al-Hujeir struggle and Commander Khaled Bazzi (A.S.) who led the Bint Jbeil fight, Hussnayn al-Sa’adi gave his life so his brothers could live to see the subsequent day and their righteous mission could be achieved. It’s the kind of story that will be passed down from generation to generation by we Iraqis and all other resistant peoples of our region.
You will now and forever remember that you read Hussnayn’s harrowing story of resistance and selflessness from us. In contrast, where you shall not be reading it is in the NYT, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC or Fox News. Nor will you hear praises sung about him by the First World Left, quite to the contrary actually. They will probably call him a “Sectarian Shi’ite Imperialist Invader of the Reconstituted, Ever-Encroaching Iranian Safavid Empire” or something to that absurd effect. I say this not because we should even want the Zionist media and its “leftist” auxiliaries telling the stories of our people but because we absolutely, positively SHOULD NOT. It is the mainstream global press that led the (dis)information campaign against Iraq and its First World Left counterparts who have been the bulwark of the (dis)information campaign against Syria today. It is WAY overdue that we all STOP saying “Zionist media is silent” or “Zionist media won’t report this”. Of course they are silent and of course they won’t report this! The international vultures’ press, which shapes the thought patterns and viewpoints of every people in every corner of the planet, save a few, is the core cog in World Zionism’s hegemonic machine. And it has no other function except brainwashing the masses, upholding the system of this machine and keeping any “Goy” who stands up against this machine out of the public eye, so other “Goyim” who are on the verge of escaping “The Box” don’t get any pesky Mouqawamist ideas.
Case in point: WE, as in the people of the Arab-Islamic world and its Diaspora, alongside our sincere Western comrades who follow our lead and don’t appropriate our identities, need to tell the stories of heroes like Hussnayn. Us and only us. So when like-minded individuals wake up from their Zio-induced slumber and go to their favorite internet search engine looking for truth about the Iraqis assisting the Syrian government in the fight against Empire-spawned Takfiri terrorism, they will see OUR work. They will then tell their brethren who are on the same wavelength to look at OUR work and it is here that the cycle of counter-propaganda and revolutionary information warfare is established, thus crippling the dominance of the Zionist media. If you’re Palestinian, tell Palestinian stories. If you’re Syrian, tell Syrian stories. If you’re Iraqi, tell Iraqi stories. If you’re Yemeni, tell Yemeni stories. We can then bounce our vibes off one another because all of our struggles are linked together. This will create a vortex of Haqq and leave ‘Israel’ and its lies caught in our sophisticated, veracious crossfire as well as birth a whole new generation of truth-seekers. And what better way to christen such an awakening than a crash-course in the Culture of Resistance vis-à-vis the dauntlessness of Harakat al-Nujaba Commander Hussnayn al-Sa’adi?
I will not say that you left us too soon o’ Son of Kufa! O’ Son of Karbala! O’ Protector of Imam Hussein’s (A.S.) Legacy! O’ Acolyte of Ashoura! O’ Guardian of Iraq! O’ Lover of Syria! O’ Liberator of Nubl and Al-Zahra! No, you left us right when you were supposed to, laying your life on the line for our beloved Iraq, for our steadfast Syrian family and for the precious cause of Resistance. And the world at large will know your story now. So enjoy the Akhira’s green gardens and the crystal-clear streams running in them habibi Hussnayn, and rest deeply knowing that while you have certainly been avenged because Nubl and Al-Zahra were freed barely 24 hours after your sacrifice, a greater vengeance is on its way as Aleppo approaches its hour of liberation. To have chronicled your glorious life and even more glorious martyrdom ’twas, is, and will always be, and I do mean will ALWAYS be, an honor. #RIPHussnaynAlSaadi #LongLiveIraq #LongLiveSyria
