The US efforts to intimidate, warn or threaten Russia and to push it to change its stance from the Syrian crisis proved futile.
Washington continues to launch a fierce political and media campaign against the Syrian government, after its military offensive against Shayrat military airbase. Not to forget the military buildup and continuous support to the Kurds in Northern Syria.
Furthermore, Washington has activated its plans in attempt to implant security zones on at least two regions in Syria: the bordering line with Jordan; and the Raqqa area that represents a natural extension to Takfiri occupied areas in Iraq.
Washington aims at establishing isolated areas in the two regions after crushing ISIL, Daesh, to secure a totally American controlled area where the Syrian government would have no say in determining the future of the area. The US administration wants to impose a de facto situation where it could decide the future of the region in accordance with its plans vis a vis both the Kurds and the Turks.
In another vein, the US administration has been repeatedly alarmed by the Israelis about what they depict as an escalation in the activities of both Hezbollah and the Iranian revolutionary guards in the region adjacent to occupied Golan heights. Washington’s clear top priority now is to contain what it calls the extension of the Iranian influence in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
A third very important factor that supersedes the other two is the growing concern of US administration and the decision making circles of the Russian culminating involvement in Syria. Such involvement undermines the American strategic plans not only in Syria, but in other areas of vital interests to the US in the whole region.
Moscow, however, has never shown any indication to bow down to the American heightened rhetoric; contrary it asserted its solid position and pledged more support to the Syrian government and took effective measures to make sure its message reached the White House.
The Russian message was clear that Washington cannot act as a sole player or as if the world is being run or dictated by one ruler and insured that only a multi-polar system could function properly to maintain political solutions, stability and peace.
It is time that the White House understands the message and accepts the new reality; is not it the US who keeps preaching in the flexibility and real politick? Why not comply with the theory it keeps preaching. Many influential powers in the world believe it is the due time for that.
