Israel's Holocaust against Gaza
04/03/2008 03:54:00 PM GMT

What Israel is doing to these helpless Palestinians in Gaza is a virtual Holocaust or at least a Holocaust in the making.

By Khalid Amayreh

In June, 1942, in reprisal for the assassination of the Nazi commander Reinhard Heydrich, the Germans carried out a murderous rampage of murder and terror throughout Czechoslovakia. The small Czech village of Lidice bore the brunt of the German revenge, with the SS killing all the men, deported all women and children and razed the village to the ground.

Similarly, in March 1944, thirty-three German soldiers were killed when members of an Italian resistance group set off a bomb close to a column of German troops who were marching on via Rasella in Rome. Adolph Hitler got furious and ordered that within 24 hours, ten Italians were to be shot for each German soldier that had been killed. Herbert Kappler, the local German commander, quickly compiled a list of 320 civilians who were to be assassinated as vengeance. On March 24, the victims were transported to the Ardeatine caves where they were summarily executed by the SS.

Numerous other ‘pacification operations’ were carried out by the Nazi armies against civilians throughout Nazi-occupied Europe, in which men, women and children were brutally killed to avenge the death of German occupation soldiers by local resistance fighters.

Now what is the difference between these Nazi atrocities and what Israel, the “only democracy in the Middle East” is doing in the Gaza Strip, where “the most moral army in the world” is slaughtering babies as young as six-months’ old? I know that many Zionists have developed almost instinctive knee- jerk defensive reactions to any comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany. However, the truth must be proclaimed aloud, irrespective of how many Zionists will get angry.

Israel claims that it doesn’t murder innocent civilians deliberately. But this is a big, obscene lie, of which even most Israelis are aware. Mistakes happen a few times, but when the wanton slaughter of children occurs each day and every day of the year, it means it is policy.

In addition, when the number of victims, especially innocent victims, as in Gaza, even intent itself becomes irrelevant.

In the final analysis, murdering knowingly is murdering deliberately, regardless of the prevarication and the verbal juggling.

What Israel is doing to these helpless Palestinians is a virtual Holocaust or at least a Holocaust in the making.

(Watch video: Israel's Holocaust against Gaza)

(Watch video: Israel steps up Gaza attacks)

This is not a war. Wars occur between armies and states.

What is happening in Gaza is actually a merciless and brutal rampage of murder and terror waged by a Wehrmacht-like army against a blockaded, beleaguered and starved people who want to survive and be free, very much like Jews did under the Nazi occupation of Europe.

Indeed, when Israel murders a hundred Palestinian, mostly innocent civilians, for every Israeli killed, there is a name for that, it is massacre.

It is conscionable that honest people around the world, including many conscientious Jews who can’t bear watching the heinous crimes Israel is committing in their collective name, must call the spade a spade. A Holocaust, after all, doesn’t become lesser when perpetrated by Jews.

  • Vilnai

Once again, human decency is being affronted and insulted by Matan Vilnai, Israel’s deputy defense minister, who has gone as far as threatening the thoroughly tormented Gazans with a Holocaust.

Speaking to the Israeli army radio Friday morning, 29 February, Vilnai said “the more Qassam rockets fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, the Palestinians will bring upon themselves a bigger Holocaust because we will use all our power to defend ourselves.”

Is Vilnai vindicating the Nazi Holocaust?

Today, people around the world, including millions of Jews, are watching the slaughter in Gaza live on their TV screens. And no amount of spin, lie, or hasbara will make the images of mutilated babies look innocuous.

Finally, the people of the world will not be duped by the propagandistic lies about so-called rocket attacks on Israeli towns, which are meant first and foremost to create an artificial equation between the wanton extermination of Gazans and the mainly psychological discomfort experienced by some Israeli citizens as a result of the fall of these nearly innocuous fire-crackers, fired by some desperate Gazans in order to deter Israel from killing more of their children.

This is because Israel knows very well how calm and peace can be restored for both the people of Gaza and Israelis across the border: Lift the criminal siege on Gaza, allow Gazans to access food and to travel, allow them to export and import, and stop these daily massacres. And then not a single Qassam will be fired onto Israel.

True, Israel had not introduced gas chambers in Beit Hanun and Khan Younis or Rafah. But we have F-16s raining down bombs and death on sleeping children and women and innocent civilians.

Wall Sreet Journal Columnist Calls for Bombings, Kidnappings and Torture of

In an editorial in the august Wall Street Journal, the flagship publication

bombing, kidnapping and torturing Palestinians:

"I can make careful use of the intelligence at Israel's disposal to identify,

booby-trapping their telephones, rocketing their cars and offices, etc. In a
word, assassinate them. Sounds good to me.

Israeli Minister in Sharon's Cabinet Wants All Palestinians Expelled
Israeli Minister Rechavam Ze'evi, who took his place in Ariel Sharon's
cabinet March 7, 2001, a former Israeli army major-general, wants the 3
million Palestinians expelled from the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Ze'evi is
the founder of the Moledet party.

Joining him in Sharon's cabinet is the Russian-Jewish immigrant Avigdor
Lieberman, the new infrastructure minister. The leader of a political party,
Mr Lieberman has called for Israel to bomb Egypt's Aswan dam.

Ze'evi will push for the invasion of Palestinian-ruled towns to end the
resistance. He "wants to cleanse the West Bank of Palestinians. The Arabs
living in the West Bank and Gaza have to be transferred..." He has been
drawing up battle scenarios for Sharon, and has joined Lieberman in demanding
assurances that Mr Sharon will invade the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He also
wants the army to unleash attack dogs on Palestinian demonstrators.

Jewish Racism and Terorrism According to Rabbi Ginsburg

Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg, head of the Kever Yossev Yeshiva (school of Talmud)
in Nablus stated, "The blood of the Jewish people is loved by the Lord; it is
therefore redder and their life is preferable."

The killing by a Jew of a non-Jew, i.e. a Palestinian, is considered
essentially a good deed, and Jews should therefore have no compunction about
it. Source: Yitzhak Ginsburg, "Five General Religious Duties Which Lie Behind

Rabbis Place Curse in a Midnight Ceremony in an Israeli Cemetery

ACRE, OCCUPIED PALESTINE - Ultra-orthodox Lubavitch activist Meir Baranes
placed a Kabbalistic curse on Pope John Paul II. Three Jewish ultra-orthodox
"haredim" took part in the pulsa de nura ("lashes of fire") ceremony in a
cemetery. Footage from the rite was broadcast on Israeli Channel 2 television
on Monday, March 20. Observers suspect that the ceremony was staged in
cooperation with Channel 2, which denied the charge.

Baranes, 32, was alleged to have initiated the ceremony. He is suspected of
belonging to a Jewish terrorist organization. Baranes said he and the others
were followers of the late Lubavitcher Rabbi, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, a
favorite of former Pres. Ronald Reagan. Reagan made the Lubavitch rabbi's
birthday "Education Day USA" by public law. The Lubavitch are highly praised
by the US media, including NY Times religion editor Peter Steinfels. The
Lubavitch operate hundreds of hate sites on the world wide web. On some of
these Jesus Christ is defamed and insulted. The Hasidic Lubavitch sect was
founded in the 18th century by Rabbi Shneur Zalman whose book, "Tanya"
decrees that all non-Jews are "supernal refuse."

"It is a shame for the Jewish people to go crawling to the gentile pope,"
Baranes said. Baranes's has published leaflets saying that the late
Schneerson is God (the Lubavitch believe Schneerson was the Messiah). He has
conducted numerous cursing ceremonies.

The midnight rite, which Israeli TV Channel 2 said was enacted last Thursday,
March 16 in a cemetery in Safed, recalled rabbinical curses cast on prime
minister Yitzhak Rabin prior to his 1995 assassination by Yigal Amir.
Participants in the cemetery sounded ritual calls on ceremonial ram's horns.
They also singled out Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat and Syrian
President Hafez Assad for curses. Source: Jerusalem Post March 23, 2000 and

We will take a child for a child, Israelis say

Tension rose anew after an outburst by Israeli Foreign Minister, David Levy,
in which he threatened to kill "child for child" if guerrillas rocketed
Israeli border towns.

The Lebanese leader Selim al-Hoss, described the Israeli official as "evil"
and "afflicted by racism and arrogance." Mr Levy, looking flushed and angry,
told the Israeli Knesset that the Jewish nation would retaliate "blood for
blood, soul for soul, child for child" if Hizbollah guerrillas in south
Lebanon fired on Israel's northern border towns.

It was not the minister's first outburst in recent days. Earlier in February
he threatened to make the soil of Lebanon "burn" in the event of a Hizbollah
attack. Levy's behaviour added to indignation generated by the Israeli
assault on Lebanon on 8 February, when Israeli jets bombed three power
stations, injuring at least 15 civilians.

Lebanon's Selim al-Hoss replied: "The children of Lebanon whom Levy is
threatening to kill will remain the torch of the resistance that cannot be
extinguished by hate or terrorised by aggression. Their innocence will remain
the light which eliminates the darkness of the sick spirits and exposes their
bad intentions." Source: The Independent Feb. 25 2000

"Saint Goldstein": Jewish Holy Book Praises Mass Murderer of Palestinian
Civilians.

JERUSALEM - Four former members of the Rabbi Meir Kahane's Kach Party
distributed a book in praise of Jewish mass murderer Baruch Goldstein.

The four - Michael Ben-Chorin, Netanel Uzari, Yoel Lerner, and Yosef Dayan -
issued the book in honor of Goldstein who slaughtered 40 Palestinian men and
boys while they knelt in prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque at Hebron's Machpela
Cave, on Purim 1994. (Purim is the Jewish commemoration of vengeance against
non-Jews).
The book, Baruch Hagever ("The Blessed Man"), has sold thousands of copies
among Jews, and includes an article written by Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg, the
head of an Israeli yeshiva (religious school). Ginsburg's article "sings the
praises" of the killer and calls Goldstein, a 'saint.' "The entire book is
indeed full of his praises. It should be noted that no Israeli rabbi
(including the 'moderates' among them) has said a word against the contents
of the book."

Ginsburg declares in Baruch Hagever that what Goldstein did in murdering the
unarmed Palestinian civilians at their house of worship, constitutes, "a
fulfillment of a number of commands of Jewish religious law...Among his
(Goldstein's) good deeds, as enumerated, are...taking revenge on non-Jews,
extermination of the non-Jews who are from the seed of Amalek...and the
sanctification of the Holy Name.

"The murders have led, in the rabbi's opinion, to...clear knowledge among the
Jews that 'the life of a Jew is preferable to the life of a non-Jew'...

"Goldstein is indeed being worshipped as a saint in (the Jewish settlement )
Kiryat Arba. His intercession before God is asked by pilgrims and it is
reported that he cures the ill and generally helps those Jews who ask his
help."

Rabbi Sanctions Killing to Keep Jewish Race Pure

The Israeli Chief Rabbi of the Sephardim, Eliahu Bakshi Doron, in a radio
broadcast on Tuesday, July 9, 1996, praised the Biblical figure Phinehas for
having killed the Israelite Zimri, because Zimri had sex with a Midianite
woman. Rabbi Doron said that Phinehas had committed a "pure" act. He then
referred to Zimri as "the first reform Jew."

Reform Jews allow inter-marriage between Jewish persons and those of
non-Jewish extraction, a form of integration long condemned by Orthodox Jews.
A leader of the Reform Jews, Uri Regev, called for a criminal investigation
of the chief rabbi, saying that Rabbi Doron's sanction of the murder of
Reform Jews should be prosecuted.

The Israeli Who Allegedly Scalded Moshe Dayan's Daughter was Previously
Convicted of Murdering a Palestinian

Yisrael Lederman, who was sentenced by a military court to 20 years in prison
for killing a Palestinian, is suspected of throwing boiling water on Member
of the Knesset Yael Dayan, while she was touring Hebron on Oct. 22, 1996.

Yediot Aharonot reports that Lederman had only served two years of his murder
sentence when then Israeli Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan, who once compared
Palestinians to "cockroaches scurrying in a bottle," pardoned and released
him. Two years later, Lederman snatched a baby out of the arms of a
Palestinian mother .

Rabbi Hecht, President of the Rabbinical Alliance of America, Praises Mass
Murderer and Orders Assassination

Rabbi Avraham Hecht, chief rabbi of the Congregation Sha'are Zion in
Flatbush, New York and until recently the president of the Rabbinical
Alliance of America, a national organization of 540 Orthodox rabbis, called
for the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and praised Baruch Goldstein, who
slaughtered forty Palestinian civilians while they knelt in prayer at a
mosque.

Of Goldstein, Rabbi Hecht said, "I think Goldstein is a great man, a holy
man," Hecht says. "If I ever visit [Hebron], I'm going to visit his grave."

Rabbi Hecht's assassination decree was issued on June 19, 1995 in the
basement of a Manhattan synagogue, during a meeting of the International
Rabbinical Coalition (IRC) , a 3,000-member international organization
founded in 1993 to encourage the mass expulsion of the Palestinian people
from their land.

Hecht, a member of the IRC's eight-person American rabbinic steering
committee, declared that returning any part of Israeli territory seized from
the Palestinians is a violation of Jewish religious law. Hence, assassinating
Rabin--"and all who assist him"--is not only permissible, but necessary.

In his own defense, Rabbi Hecht stated, "All I said was that according to
Jewish law, any one person--you can apply it to whoever you want--any one
person who willfully, consciously, intentionally hands over human bodies or
human property or the human wealth of the Jewish people to an alien people is
guilty of the sin for which the penalty is death.

"And, according to Maimonides--you can quote me--it says very clearly, if a
man kills him, he has done a good deed."

Death," October 9, 1995.

Jewish settlers renew attacks on Palestinians in Al-Khalil

[ 06/12/2008 - 11:41 AM ]

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Jewish settlers from the Abraham settlement in Al-Khalil city on Saturday set fire to a Palestinian home after breaking into and ransacking it, local sources reported.

They said that a number of settlers stormed the home of Nidal Al-Eiwiwi and wreaked havoc in it then started fire in the house after leaving it.

The blaze destroyed a number of rooms before the fire brigade arrived and extinguished it. A number of citizens were treated for suffocation while trying to put off the fire due to the heavy smoke that billowed from the targeted home.

Herds of fanatic settlers have been waging destructive attacks on Palestinians in the Old City of Al-Khalil, mosques and property for the past five day with no serious intervention on the part of the Israeli occupation authority to curb the attackers.

No other word than 'pogrom' for settler acts in Hebron

"...Surrounding them are a few dozen masked Jews seeking to lynch them. A pogrom. This isn't a play on words or a double meaning. It is a pogrom in the worst sense of the word..."

[aaaaaaab.jpg]

(...what does it say on that wall?...)

ANALYSIS

Contibuted by Lucia

By Avi Issacharoff

An innocent Palestinian family, numbering close to 20 people. All of them women and children, save for three men. Surrounding them are a few dozen masked Jews seeking to lynch them. A pogrom. This isn't a play on words or a double meaning. It is a pogrom in the worst sense of the word. First the masked men set fire to their laundry in the front yard and then they tried to set fire to one of the rooms in the house. The women cry for help, "Allahu Akhbar." Yet the neighbors are too scared to approach the house, frightened of the security guards from Kiryat Arba who have sealed off the home and who are cursing the journalists who wish to document the events unfolding there.

The cries rain down, much like the hail of stones the masked men hurled at the Abu Sa'afan family in the house. A few seconds tick by before a group of journalists, long accustomed to witnessing these difficult moments, decide not to stand on the sidelines. They break into the home and save the lives of the people inside. The brain requires a minute or two to digest what is taking place. Women and children crying bitterly, their faces giving off an expression of horror, sensing their imminent deaths, begging the journalists to save their lives. Stones land on the roof of the home, the windows and the doors. Flames engulf the southern entrance to the home. The front yard is littered with stones thrown by the masked men. The windows are shattered and the children are frightened. All around, as if they were watching a rock concert, are hundreds of Jewish witnesses, observing the events with great interest, even offering suggestions to the Jewish wayward youth as to the most e
ffective way to harm the family. And the police are not to be seen. Nor is the army.

Ten minutes prior, while the security forces were preoccupied with dispersing the rioters near the House of Contention, black smoke billowed from the wadi separating Kiryat Arba and Hebron. For some reason, none of the senior officers of the police or the army were particularly disturbed by what was transpiring at the foot of Kiryat Arba. Anyone standing hundreds of meters away could notice the dozens of rioters climbing atop the roof of the Abu Sa'afan family home, hurling stones. Only moments later did it become apparent that there were people inside the home.

I quickly descend to the wadi and accost three soldiers. "What do you want from me? The three of us are responsible for the entire sector here," one said, his hand gesturing towards the entire wadi.

"Use your radio to request help," I said. He replies that he is not equipped with a radio.

A group of journalists approach the house. A dilemma. What to do? There are no security forces in the vicinity and now the Jewish troublemakers decided to put the journalists in their crosshairs. We call for the security guards from Kiryat Arba to intervene and put a halt to the lynch. But they surround the home to prevent the arrival of "Palestinian aid."

The home is destroyed and the fear is palpable on the faces of the children. One of the women, Jihad, is sprawled on the floor, half-unconscious. The son, who is gripping a large stick, prepares for the moment he will be forced to face the rioters. Tahana, one of the daughters, refuses to calm down. "Look at what they did to the house, look."

Tess, the photographer, bursts into tears as the events unfold around her. The tears do not stem from fear. It is shame, shame at the sight of these occurrences, the deeds of youths who call themselves Jews. Shame that we share the same religion. At 5:05 P.M., a little over an hour after the incident commenced, a unit belonging to the Yassam special police forces arrives to disperse the crowd of masked men. The family members refuse to calm down. Leaving the home, one can hear a settler yell at a police officer: "Nazis, shame on you." Indeed. Shame on you.

Israeli settlers “at war” with the Palestinians in Hebron

Friday December 05, 2008 00:45author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies

On Thursday, Palestinian sources in the city of Hebron, located in the southern part of the West Bank, reported that extremist Israeli settlers carried out a series of violent attacks against Arab residents and set a number of homes, cars and olive trees on fire.

File - Armed settlers in Hebron
File - Armed settlers in Hebron

The attacks were escalated after the army evacuated the settlers from the home of Al Rajabi, a Palestinian family, after the settlers illegally occupied the property since last year.

The sources stated that settlers, stationed in five illegal outposts in the Old City of Hebron, set ablaze two Palestinian homes and one shop in Wad Al Hasseen area, close to Al Rajabi home. The settlers also violently attacked a number of residents.

In Tal Romedia area, the settlers chased dozens of Palestinian children and hurled stones and empty bottles at a number of homes.

The settlers also attacked and attempted to break into another Palestinian home in an area adjacent to Al Rajabi home while Israeli soldiers fired gas bombs and rubber-coated bullets; several injuries were reported among the residents.

In Al Sahla area, close to the Ibrahimi Mosque, a Palestinian child and her father were wounded after extremist settlers attacked and punched them.

The settlers also set a Palestinian firefighter vehicle on fire as the firefighters were attempting to extinguish several fires the settlers caused to Palestinian homes.

Hebron governor, Dr. Hussein Al A’raj, held the Israeli occupation responsible for the violence in Hebron and demanded the army to put an end to the attacks carried out by the settlers and their supporters. Al A’raj added that the areas in question are under Israeli security control; therefore it is the duty of the Israeli Defense Forces to protect the unarmed Palestinian residents and their property.

He also said that the Fourth Geneva Conventions clearly state that civilians and their property living under occupation should be protected at all times.

Israel's Military on Alert for Settler Violence

05/12/2008

Israeli occupation security forces
braced on Friday for more violence after Israeli hardliners went on the rampage against Palestinians in retaliation for the eviction of settlers from a disputed house in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil.

The entire southern West Bank was declared a closed military zone to prevent Israelis from converging again on the flashpoint city where a mob of Israeli extremists on Thursday shot and wounded three Palestinians, hurled rocks at others and torched homes, fields and cars.

Authorities feared the violence would continue as right-wingers vowed to exact revenge for Thursday's forceful eviction of some 250 settlers from the house that had come to symbolize hardliners' determination to fight for what they claim their God-given right to all the biblical land of Israel - including Palestinian territories.

"Already now there is great fear of a Jewish terrorist attack directed against Muslims," the Israeli daily Maariv warned.

Authorities were also worried about a Palestinian backlash amid simmering anger over the perceived failure of Israeli security forces to protect them from the rampaging mob in Al-Khalil.

Security was beefed up around occupied Jerusalem's mosque compound ahead of Friday prayers and access was restricted to Muslims holding Israeli identity cards and aged over 45 in the case of men, with no age restrictions for women.

Most Israeli media hailed security forces for finally removing the settlers from the Al-Khalil house on Thursday following an Israeli high court order on November 16.

Israeli police used stun grenades and tear gas to evict the settlers, dragging out several who refused to move, in an operation lasting less than an hour.

But Israeli authorities also came under harsh criticism for failing to protect Palestinians who live around what has been dubbed "the House of Contention."

"If the serious aggressions carried out by settlers continue, it will sabotage the peace process," said Nabil Abu Rudeina, spokesman for Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas.

A videotape distributed by Israel's B'Tselem human rights group shows a settler shooting two Palestinians and a guard from the nearby Kiryat Arba settlement firing into the air as relatives of the victims overpowered the gunman.

B'Tselem said it delivered the video to Al-Khalil police, demanding that the assailant be immediately brought to justice and that the involvement of the security guard be investigated.

The conservative English-language Jerusalem Post printed a picture of Israeli soldiers aiming their guns at Palestinians trying to reach their homes near the disputed building, and another showing relaxed-looking soldiers chatting with masked youths, apparently settlers, some of whom are holding rocks.

In 1994, an Israeli extremist massacred 29 Palestinian worshippers at the Tomb of the Patriarchs, a site holy to Jews and Muslims.

The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank to be illegal, and the Palestinians say they are the biggest obstacle to Middle East peace talks.

B'Tselem footage shows settler shooting two Palestinian at close range
Link to this video

The Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has released graphic video footage showing settlers fighting with Palestinians in Hebron and shooting two men at close range in the hours after a settler house was evacuated by police yesterday.

The film, recorded by a Palestinian resident in Hebron, shows settlers attacking his house, which was in a valley close to the three-storey building where dozens of settlers were evicted by Israeli riot police. In the hours after the eviction, Jewish settlers rioted in Hebron, throwing stones at police and Palestinians and setting fire to Palestinian trees and attacking Palestinian homes. Most of the violence took place between the evicted house and the nearby hardline Jewish settlement of Kirya Arba.

The footage shows a settler firing a handgun and injuring two Palestinians, Hosni Abu Se'ifan, 40, who was hit in the chest and is now in a stable condition in hospital, and his father, Abd al-Hai Abu Se'ifan, 65, who was hurt in the arm. Others from the family then overpower the gunman until armed Israeli security guards from the Kiryat Arba settlement arrive and shoot several rounds over the heads of the Palestinians. The Abu Se'ifan family have frequently been targeted by settlers in the past.

B'Tselem handed the video to Israeli police in Hebron last night and was "demanding that the assailant is immediately brought to justice and that the involvement of the security guard be investigated".

"Additionally, the security forces must investigate the failures that allowed settlers to riot throughout the afternoon and evening in Hebron's Palestinian neighbourhoods," the rights group said.

Since early last year B'Tselem has given out more than 100 small video cameras to Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank to allow them to record human rights abuses, and particularly the increasingly violent clashes with settlers. The group says the video recordings encourage accountability and are frequently used as evidence to bring cases against soldiers and settlers who break the law.

There are around 470,000 Jewish settlers living in the West Bank and east Jerusalem and their numbers are increasing every year, even though all settlements in the occupied territories are illegal under international law.

The settlers at the Hebron house claimed they had bought the building legally nearly two years ago from a Palestinian and said they had documents and videotape as proof. However, the Palestinian has since denied selling the building to the settlers and last month the Israeli supreme court said the house should be evacuated until the ownership dispute was settled. The 15 settler families were joined by dozens of supporters ahead of the eviction and the house quickly became their latest symbol of defiance against the Israeli government.

Confession of guilt?

Bush admits that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and the intelligence was faulty.

Watch part two

President George W. Bush admitted in an interview with US network ABC on Monday that "The biggest regret of all the presidency has to have been the intelligence failure in Iraq."

The intelligence failure he was referring to was the faulty evidence that accused Saddam Hussein's regime of possessing weapons of mass destruction, an accusation that was used as the official reason for the US administration's invasion of Iraq back in 2003.

The admission comes a bit late: the invasion left more than half a million Iraqis killed and over 4000 American soldiers. And he spend $40 billion on home land security. But President Bush says he will leave the presidency with his head held high.

In the interview he talked about the highs and lows of his eight years in office.
And he acknowledged what the rest of the world already has taken for granted for quite some time: That he may have been unprepared for what happened under his rule.

In this edition of Inside Story we ask if Bush's statements reflect any feelings of guilt and if he can be held accountable for launching a war under a false pretext?

Israel Preparing to Strike Iran without US Assent

04/12/2008

The Israeli forces are drawing up options for a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities that do not include coordination with the United States, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

While its preference is to coordinate with the US, defense officials have said Israel is preparing a wide range of options for such an operation. "It is always better to coordinate," one top Defense Ministry official explained last week. "But we are also preparing options that do not include coordination."

Israeli officials have said it would be difficult, but not impossible, to launch a strike against Iran without receiving codes from the US Air Force, which controls Iraqi airspace. Israel also asked for the codes in 1991 during the First Gulf War, but the US refused. "There are a wide range of risks one takes when embarking on such an operation," a top Israeli official said.

Several news reports have claimed recently that US President George W. Bush has refused to give Israel a green light for an attack on Iranian facilities. One such report, published in September in Britain's Guardian newspaper, claimed that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert requested a green light to attack Iran in May but was refused by Bush.

In September, a Defense News article on an early warning radar system the US recently sent to Israel quoted a US government source who said the X-band deployment and other bilateral alliance-bolstering activities send parallel messages: "First, we want to put Iran on notice that we're bolstering our capabilities throughout the region, and especially in Israel. But just as important, we're telling the Israelis, 'Calm down, behave. We're doing all we can to stand by your side and strengthen defenses, because at this time, we don't want you rushing into the military option.'"

The "US European Command (EUCOM) has deployed to Israel a high-powered X-band radar and the supporting people and equipment needed for coordinated defense against Iranian missile attack, marking the first permanent US military presence on Israeli soil," Defense News wrote. The radar will shave several precious minutes off Israel's reaction time to an Iranian missile launch.

In a related article at about the same time, TIME magazine raised the possibility that through the deployment of the radar, America wants to keep an eye on Israeli airspace, so that the US is not surprised if and when the IAF is sent to bomb Iran, a scenario Washington wants to avoid.

The US army sent 120 EUCOM personnel to Israel's Nevatim Air Base southeast of Beersheba to man the new radar.

Last week, Iran's nuclear chief Gholam Reza Aghazadeh revealed that the country was operating more than 5,000 centrifuges at its uranium enrichment plant in Natanz and would continue to install centrifuges and enrich uranium to produce nuclear fuel for the country's future nuclear power plants.

"At this point, more than 5,000 centrifuges are operating in Natanz," said Aghazadeh, who is also the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran. This represents a significant increase from the 4,000 Iran had said were up and running in August at the plant.

The Islamic republic has said it plans to move toward large-scale uranium enrichment that will ultimately involve 54,000 centrifuges.

The IAF was preparing for a wide range of options, OC Air Force Maj.-Gen. Ido Nehushtan recently said, adding that all it would take to launch an operation was a decision by the political echelon. "The air force is a very robust and flexible force," he told Der Spiegel. "We are ready to do whatever is demanded of us."

On Monday, Tehran dismissed the possibility of an Israeli strike, saying it didn't take Israel seriously. "We think that regional and international developments and the complicated situation faced by Israel itself will not allow it to launch military strikes against other countries," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi told reporters in Teheran, according to the Press TV Web site. "Israel makes threats to promote its psychological and media warfare," he said.

Do you still remember us?

We are still under siege,

darkness.....

And hunger.....

Do you still remember us?!

To get water we have to walk so far.....

To fill a bottle or a jar......

Do you still remember us?!

We still have No food.....

Or medicine to be fed.....

Our kids.....

are dying every day.....

in their beds.....

And many have just tears to shed.....

Do you still remember us?!

Death!

is everywhere.....

that sometimes we have No place,
to make
Our prayer.....

Do you Really still remember us?!

We have nothing but pain.....

illness.....

And daily sadness......

to Share.....

So do you still remember us?!

At least in your prayer?!

Gaza children implore you!
They are dying due to the blockade!

There is 'growing humanitarian crisis,'
happening in Gaza.....

There is an EXTREME restricted access,
to food, water, and medicine!!
