30 Years On, Iran Celebrates Anniversary of Islamic Revolution

Readers Number : 158

31/01/2009 Thirty years have passed on the Iranian Revolution, but its reflection is still witnessed day after day worldwide…

At a ceremony marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that Iran's Islamic revolution was not limited to its borders. "The revolution is lively and alive after 30 years," Ahmadinejad stressed.

"We are still at the beginning of the path and greater changes are ahead. This thunderous revolution will continue until justice is implemented," the Iranian president said. "Although the Islamic revolution happened in Iran it is not limited to Iranian borders," he emphasized.

Crowds chanted "Death to America! Death to Israel!" at the ceremony at Khomeini's mausoleum in southern Tehran also attended by supreme leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, government ministers and military commanders.

"Because of Islam we saw victory in Gaza and Lebanon," said the revolutionary leader's grandson Hassan Khomeini. "Iranians are proud because Khomeini was the flag bearer of this Islamic awakening worldwide."

Former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the "Gazans and Hezbollah were able to defeat the army of the Zionist regime because of the effective influence of Iran."

Meanwhile, Iranian school bells rang throughout the country Saturday morning to mark the glorious return home of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, after 15 years of exile. Trains, ships and factories also sounded their whistles as a token of marking the start of the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

On this day in 1979 the Imam arrived at Tehran International Mehrabad Airport amidst a warm enthusiastic welcome and later proceeded towards the city’s cemetery Behesht-e Zahra where he made a historic speech.

Khomeini's shrine was decorated with a large poster of the elderly bearded cleric, then 76, as he disembarked from an Air France jumbo jet helped by a steward -- an image etched in world history. "The Islamic revolution is the result of sacrifices made by martyrs," read a banner inscribed with one of Khomeini's famous quotes. "We will guard the great legacy and principles of Imam Khomeini," vowed Sayyed Khamenei on another banner of his mentor who died in 1989.

In related developments, Education Minister Ali-Reza Ali-Ahmadi rang the bell of a secondary school in southern Tehran Saturday morning. Addressing the students and teaching staff of the school, the minister said the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and vast presence of people in all aspects of life led to the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. Today, the Islamic Republic is free and independent and follows the Islamic values and principles, he added.

Gaza Genocide Turned the Holocaust Magic against the Zionist Magician

Using the Holocaust to Attack the Jews

Are all those who have accused Israel of being a Nazi state anti-Semites? Hardly. Walter Reich opines that the Holocaust is now being used to criticize Israel, not to defend it. From the former director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum:

Dozens of cities held ceremonies last week to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The good news is that the dead were remembered. The bad news is that even as the Holocaust is becoming a fixture in the world's memory, it is also being increasingly used as a weapon against the Jews and the Jewish state.

For some, ironically, the acknowledgment of the Holocaust's reality has become a screen behind which anti-Semitism has gathered new force. The hard-core Jew-haters spent decades denying that the best-documented genocide in world history ever took place. That won them such derision that even many anti-Semites have begun to admit the reality of the Holocaust -- and now are hoping that simply by doing so, they can immunize themselves from the charge that they're anti-Semites in the first place. How can you be an anti-Semite, they figure, if you recognize the Holocaust?

But as some people who don't like Jews have found, it's worth acknowledging the Holocaust if you can then turn it into a cudgel against the Jews. And that they've done, in spades. According to this crowd, the Jews today have become Nazis. The Jewish state is now supposedly carrying out a Holocaust against the Palestinians. Jews, the haters say, have always been evil, and their evil is only growing.

Of course, not all criticisms of Israel are the product of such bigoted logic. People of good will around the world are naturally shocked by the tragic and appalling deaths of Palestinian civilians, including those killed in the recent war in the Gaza Strip. Like any country, Israel can be criticized. But the massive and unceasing eruptions of outrage against the Jewish state -- in a world in which other countries and groups have, often provoking barely any outrage, engaged in immensely more destructive and immoral behavior -- can only be explained in a few ways. One is that attacking Israel has become a means of attacking Israel's ally, the United States. Another is that over-the-top attacks on Israel, particularly those invoking Holocaust language, have become a means of once again attacking the Jews.

The Anti-Defamation League has documented the way this weapon was used during the recent war with Hamas. Here are a few of the placards spotted at rallies: In Times Square, the group reported such signs as, "Israel: The Fourth Reich," "Stop Israel's Holocaust," "Holocaust by Holocaust Survivors," "Stop the Nazi Genocide in Gaza" and "Nazi Genocide, Israeli Genocide." In Chicago: "Palestinian Holocaust in Gaza Now." In a Los Angeles demonstration, the Star of David in an Israeli flag was said to have been replaced by a swastika, accompanied by the words, "Upgrade to Holocaust Version 2.0." In San Diego: "Stop the Israeli Holocaust on Gaza." And the league reported that one rally in Washington included an effigy of the Israeli prime minister wearing a swastika armband and holding a dead baby.

The Gaza war provoked similar attacks from some world leaders and people of influence. "The Holocaust, that is what is happening right now in Gaza," Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said in televised comments, according to Reuters. The New York Times quoted a Catholic cardinal who argued that Gaza increasingly "resembled a big concentration camp." And according to the Jerusalem Post, a Norwegian diplomat based in Saudi Arabia sent out an e-mail from her Foreign Ministry account in which she wrote, "The grandchildren of Holocaust survivors from World War II are doing to the Palestinians exactly what was done to them by Nazi Germany." She reportedly also attached paired photos designed to suggest that Gaza was equivalent to the Holocaust: Next to the iconic photo of the Jewish child in the Warsaw Ghetto being menaced by a rifle-toting Nazi soldier, the diplomat is said to have placed an "image of an Israeli soldier aiming his weapon at a Palestinian boy."

Are all those who have accused Israel of being a Nazi state anti-Semites? Hardly. There's genuine anger in the Muslim world, as well as in Europe and elsewhere, about Israel's actions in Gaza. The suffering is terrible. So are the images of devastation Israel left behind. And there are also plenty of people who are angry at Israel because it stands for the reviled United States.

But the reality is that much of the vitriol directed at Israel has indeed been spouted by anti-Semites. Not only have they hurled the Nazi canard at Israel, they've expressed clear anti-Semitism -- some of it openly violent or even eliminationist. The pro-Israel but reliable Middle East Media and Research Institute has been documenting anti-Semitism on Palestinian television for years, including calls for the murder of Jews. It reports that, the day before International Holocaust Remembrance Day, one Egyptian cleric admitted on an Islamist TV channel that the Holocaust had happened -- and added that he hoped that one day Muslims would do to the Jews what the Germans had done to them. To demonstrate what he had in mind, according to the institute, he showed footage of heaps of Jewish corpses being bulldozed into pits.

In designating an International Holocaust Remembrance Day back in 2005, the U.N. General Assembly acted with noble intentions, even if parts of the world body still aim to delegitimize Israel. Such commemorations help the world understand that the goal of the Holocaust was the annihilation of an entire people -- and help them appreciate the vast differences between that event and, for example, the war in Gaza. But even as the Holocaust has been increasingly acknowledged and explained, it also has been increasingly used as a cudgel to beat Jews and the Jewish state.

We the "CHOSEN" are untouchable

Because we are "untouchable": Spain to amend law to avoid trying "CHOSEN" war criminals

THUS ORDERED THE QUEEN OF ISRAEL

Miguel Moratinos has no Turkish balls

[ 31/01/2009 - 03:03 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Spanish government has decided to amend the country's law dealing with prosecuting military commanders involved in war crimes.

Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni announced the news following a meeting with her Spanish counterpart Miguel Moratinos after a Spanish court accepted a lawsuit against former Israeli war ministry Benjamin Ben Eliezer and the then head of the air force Dan Halutz on charges against humanity.

The Israeli 2nd TV channel quoted Livni as expressing satisfaction over Moratinos's decision and informed both Israeli premier Ehud Olmert and justice minister Daniel Friedman on the latest developments in this regard.

She stressed that Israel would continue in its efforts to settle such cases not only in Spain but in the whole world, the TV report said.

Spanish judge Fernando Andreu agreed to look into the case against Ben Eliezer and Halutz along with five other former Israeli officials for ordering the assassination of Hamas commander Salah Shehade that also led to the killing of 14 innocent civilians mostly women and children.

The judge said that the assault on the densely populated Gaza Strip was a "crime against humanity" and the lawsuit was in conformity with the international law that incriminates mass murder in any country.

Shehade was killed in July 2002 in the Israeli air raid that bombed his home using a one ton bomb.

We are Israel. WE ARE UNTOUCHABLE. No matter what we do the international community will not act against us. Oh, there will be talks at the United Nations but we know that the United States will intervene on our behalf. There will be Arab League discussions but we know that no state will take action against us. There will be mass protests and demonstrations; there will be activists and advocates begging for peace; there will be rallies and fundraisers to help the targets of our bombs. And we know that nothing will make a difference because we are Jews – we are victims of the Holocaust. We have suffered such that we have the right to make the rest of the world pay (even though organised Zionism officially declared war on Germany in 1933, long before Hitler's Final Solution). Because we are victims.

Yes, we know that peoples all over the world have suffered worse crimes than ours, but they were not the Chosen People. We know that over 22 million Russians were killed under Stalin, 15 million Chinese killed by the Japanese, millions elsewhere in the world who suffer the same fate in the bloodiest 20th century.

We know that Zionism is an atheist Marxist creation using Judaism as its weapon; that we were founded upon terrorism and our leaders became Israel's prime ministers and Nobel Peace Prize winners; that less than 10% of Jews worldwide supported the Zionist cause for decades until WWII.

We know that the crimes committed by Hitler equally affected Communists, gypsies, the handicapped, and political prisoners. That does not matter - we are special. The rest of the world will not touch us because they are terrified of the label "anti-Semite". World leaders: terrified of this most glorious ad hominem even though we are mostly not Semitic peoples.

Jews of Israel, the Sephardim Jews, were almost non existent when we arrived from Russia, Poland, Austria- Hungary and elsewhere in the 20th century and demanded Arab land. They had spread out and moved on. We did not come from Yemen, Ethiopia or Iraq, but who cares? We are the victims and that is all that counts.

Time and again we wonder at how far American gullibility will take us. We push it to the limits on cable television and get away with it repeatedly. We know that the majority of the world is aware we blatantly lie when we express our "deepest regrets" because "terrorists" were hiding in the villages we destroy. We even have the gall to pick the precise same targets as a decade ago, ignoring the cries of outrage from America and the West. We'll just repeat the mantra "a tragic mistake".

Honestly, we too are rather surprised to see that America patiently sits back and buys our words each time.

We have trained our diplomats well, not only in the art of deception to the media, but by using powerful strong arm behind the scenes tactics to mould the views of US Congressmen and women in our favour.

We have worked on this for decades and it has been perfected for the one place it counts: our bank America. We rely upon those weapons; we need to create constant conflict so as to receive a perpetual $13 billion annual aid package from the US, including unsecured loans that we have never been, nor ever will be, required to pay back.

We are living a dream: what we want is given to us on a silver patter because we are Jews, and we have the Holocaust.

The above is only daring in that it is never voiced publicly in the West. The world is watching as Israel incinerates the Lebanese, next the Syrians and Palestinians, then Iran.

Diplomats call for peace, a cease -fire, and negotiations. They speak the language of non committance. It takes a few brave men and women in leadership positions to dare to speak the truth; losing that AIPAC support in government is the kiss of death, and academics who dare write the facts know that their tenured careers are over. Israel is in the position of dominating the US government to an extent never before seen in history, creating a regime who will fully fund a "new Middle East" which in reality means Eretz Israel consisting of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia and even Cyprus by some accounts. There is nothing speculative about these plans for hegemony – everything has been laid out, written down, and presented for years.

This war will not end with a cease-fire next week. This war will not end with a security zone controlled by the UN. This war will not end of Hezbollah and Hamas disappeared tomorrow. This war will not end as long as leaders and diplomats continue to fear the trump card charge of anti-Semitism by Israel.

So when hundreds of children are torn apart by uranium tipped missiles provided courtesy of the US government, look in the mirror.

Have you dared to offend Israel? Have you risked? Ask yourself what role you may have played in contributing to this global disaster.

Nothing will change until you do.

Top Hamas Leader: We are Victors, It is time for our people to have new leadership

Hayya: It is time for our people to have new leadership carrying their concerns

[ 31/01/2009 - 08:12 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, a prominent Hamas leader, stated Friday that it is time for the Palestinian people to see a new leadership carrying their burdens and concerns at home and abroad and protecting their resistance, adding that the Palestinian people would not condone anymore a leadership that accepted humiliation.

This came during a massive rally called for by the Hamas Movement in the Gaza city with the participation of the visiting Turkish delegation. The rally was held in support of Hamas political leader Khaled Mashaal's call for forming a new authority for the Palestinian people and to pay a tribute to the position of Turkish premier Recep Erdogan in Davos.

In a speech delivered before the rally, Dr. Hayya underlined that Hamas had always extended its hands for the national dialog and called for the rebuilding of the PLO.

The Hamas leader stressed that the Palestinian people after all these sacrifices would not accept a leadership compromising the national constants and rights, noting that the PLO was silent during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip awaiting the chance to announce the defeat of Gaza.

Hayya hailed the Turkish premier for the honorable positions he voiced in all forums and meetings in defense of Gaza and its people.

Top Hamas Leader: We are Victors

31/01/2009 A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip exploded in a field near the city of Ashkelon, the army said on Saturday, but there were no casualties or damage reported.
It is the third rocket attack since ceasefires on January 18.
Israel had launched its war on Gaza on the 27th of December allegedly to stop rocket fire into occupied territories and change the status-quo in the Strip.

A senior member of the Hamas leadership on Friday made his first public appearance since independent ceasefires were declared by Israel and Hamas.

Khalil Al-Hayya told supporters at a rally that the group had achieved victory in the war and was now engaged in a political battle.
"We promised to come out to you either as martyrs or as victors," Hayya told supporters. "Today I come out to you and you are victors."

Hayya reassured Palestinians whose houses had been destroyed by Israel. "The reconstruction is coming, do not be worried about that," he said, adding the Hamas government intended to pay the salaries of its employees. "I tell the resistance fighters, I tell the Qassam fighters, do not drop your weapons, do not put your weapons aside and do not abandon your trenches," Hayya said.
"I assure our people that the leaders who led the battle of victory are now leading the battle of politics. We are still in the midst of the battle and we are engaging politically," he said.

Hamas had not yielded on its demands that the Israeli blockade of the Gaza be lifted and Gaza's borders opened to normal trade, he said.

Hayya reaffirmed his group's demands to conclude a prisoner swap with Israel that would see the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners for the return of Israeli captured soldier Gilad Shalit. "Gilad Shalit will never see the light and life until our prisoners see the light among their families," he said.

BARAK: ISRAEL TO HIT HAMAS AGAIN IF NECESSARY
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Friday that Israel will strike Hamas again if necessary and if Hamas continues to fire rockets at “southern Israel.”
"Hamas was hit like it was never hit before," the defense minister told Channel 10 TV. "If we need to hit Hamas again, we will."

Israel launched its offensive on Dec. 27 against Gaza and killed within 22 days more 1,350 civilians, half of them women and children, and injured over 5,000 people with internationally banned white phosphorus weapons. Thirteen Israelis were also killed, three of them civilians.

Abu Zuhri: The victory of Gaza is a turning point in the Arab-Israeli conflict

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated that the victory of Gaza is a turning point in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, adding that the next stage is the stage of the victory of the resistance.

Is an Israeli Jewish sense of victimization perpetuating the conflict with Palestinians?

By Mary Rizzo • Jan 31st, 2009 at 17:55 • Category: Analysis, Israel, Mary's Choice, Newswire, Palestine, Religion, War, Zionism

By Akiva Eldar

A new study of Jewish Israelis shows that most accept the 'official version' of the history of the conflict with the Palestinians. Is it any wonder, then, that the same public also buys the establishment explanation of the operation in Gaza?

A pioneering research study dealing with Israeli Jews' memory of the conflict with the Arabs, from its inception to the present, came into the world together with the war in Gaza. The sweeping support for Operation Cast Lead confirmed the main diagnosis that arises from the study, conducted by Daniel Bar-Tal, one of the world's leading political psychologists, and Rafi Nets-Zehngut, a doctoral student: Israeli Jews' consciousness is characterized by a sense of victimization, a siege mentality, blind patriotism, belligerence, self-righteousness, dehumanization of the Palestinians and insensitivity to their suffering. The fighting in Gaza dashed the little hope Bar-Tal had left - that this public would exchange the drums of war for the cooing of doves.

"Most of the nation retains a simplistic collective memory of the conflict, a black-and-white memory that portrays us in a very positive light and the Arabs in a very negative one," says the professor from Tel Aviv University. This memory, along with the ethos of the conflict and collective emotions such as fear, hatred and anger, turns into a psycho-social infrastructure of the kind experienced by nations that have been involved in a long-term violent conflict. This infrastructure gives rise to the culture of conflict in which we and the Palestinians are deeply immersed, fanning the flames and preventing progress toward peace. Bar-Tal claims that in such a situation, it is hard even to imagine a possibility that the two nations will be capable of overcoming the psychological obstacles without outside help.

Scholars the world over distinguish between two types of collective memory: popular collective memory - that is, representations of the past that have been adopted by the general public; and official collective memory, or representations of the past that have been adopted by the country's official institutions in the form of publications, books or textbooks.

The idea for researching the popular collective memory of Israeli Jews was raised by Nets-Zehngut, a Tel Aviv lawyer who decided to return to the academic world. At present he is completing his doctoral thesis in the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University's Teachers College. The study, by him and Bar-Tal, entitled "The Israeli-Jewish Collective Memory of the Israeli-Arab/Palestinian Conflict," examines how official collective memory in the State of Israel regarding the creation of the 1948 refugee problem has changed over time.

Bar-Tal became enthusiastic about the idea and, with funding from the International Peace Research Association Foundation, he conducted a survey in the summer of 2008 among a representative sample of 500 Jewish Israeli adults. The study demonstrated that widespread support for the official memory testifies to a lower level of critical thinking, as well as belief in traditional values, high identification with Jewish identity, a tendency to delegitimize the Arabs, and support for taking aggressive steps against the Palestinians.

In a telephone interview from New York, Nets-Zehngut says it is very clear that those with a "Zionist memory" see Israel and the Jews as the victims in the conflict, and do not tend to support agreements or compromises with the enemy in order to achieve peace. This finding, he explains, demonstrates the importance of changing the collective memory of conflicts, making it less biased and more objective - on condition, of course, that there is a factual basis for such a change.

Bar-Tal, who has won international awards for his scientific work, immigrated to Israel from Poland as a child in the 1950s.

"I grew up in a society that for the most part did not accept the reality that the authorities tried to portray, and fought for a different future," he says. "I have melancholy thoughts about nations where there is an almost total identity between the agents of a conflict, on the one hand, who nurture the siege mentality and the existential fear, and various parts of society, on the other. Nations that respond so easily to battle cries and hesitate to enlist in favor of peace do not leave room for building a better future."

Bar-Tal emphasizes that the Israeli awareness of reality was also forged in the context of Palestinian violence against Israeli citizens, but relies primarily on prolonged indoctrination that is based on ignorance and even nurtures it. In his opinion, an analysis of the present situation indicates that with the exception of a small minority, which is capable of looking at the past with an open mind, the general public is not interested in knowing what Israel did in Gaza for many years; how the disengagement was carried out and why, or what its outcome was for the Palestinians; why Hamas came to power in democratic elections; how many people were killed in Gaza from the disengagement until the start of the recent war; and whether it was possible to extend the recent cease-fire or even who violated it first.

"Although there are accessible sources, where it is possible to find the answers to those questions, the public practices self-censorship and accepts the establishment version, out of an unwillingness to open up to alternative information - they don't want to be confused with the facts. We are a nation that lives in the past, suffused with anxiety and suffering from chronic closed-mindedness," charges Bar-Tal.

That describes the state of mind in 2000, when most of the pubic accepted the simplistic version of then-prime minister Ehud Barak regarding the failure of the Camp David summit and the outbreak of the second intifada, and reached what seemed like the obvious conclusion that "there is no partner" with whom to negotiate.

Bar-Tal: "After the bitter experience of the Second Lebanon War, during which the memory of the war was taken out of their hands and allowed to be formed freely, the country's leaders learned their lesson, and decided that they wouldn't let that happen again. They were not satisfied with attempts to inculcate Palestinian awareness and tried to influence Jewish awareness in Israel as well. For that purpose, heavy censorship and monitoring of information were imposed" during the Gaza campaign.

The professor believes that politicians would not have been successful in formulating the collective memory of such a large public without the willing enlistment of the media. Almost all the media focused only on the sense of victimization of the residents of the so-called "Gaza envelope" and the south. They did not provide the broader context of the military operation and almost completely ignored - before and during the fighting - the situation of the residents of besieged Gaza. The human stories from Sderot and the dehumanization of Hamas and the Palestinians provided the motivation for striking at Gaza with full force.

Nets-Zehngut and Bar-Tal find a close connection between the collective memory and the memory of "past persecutions of Jews" ("the whole world is against us," and the Holocaust). The more significant the memory of persecution, the stronger the tendency to adopt Zionist narratives. From this we can understand the finding that adults, the religious public and those with more right-wing political views tend to adopt the Zionist version of the conflict, while young people, the secular public and those with left-wing views tend more to adopt critical narratives.

The atmosphere in the street and in the media during the weeks of the Gaza war seems to have confirmed the central finding of the study: "The ethos of the conflict is deeply implanted in Jewish society in Israel. It is a strongly rooted ideology that justifies the goals of the Jews, adopts their version, presents them in a very positive light and rejects the legitimacy of the Arabs, and primarily of the Palestinians," notes Bar-Tal.

For example, when asked the question, "What were the reasons for the failure of the negotiations between [Ehud] Barak and [Yasser] Arafat in summer 2000?" 55.6 percent of the respondents selected the following answer: "Barak offered Arafat a very generous peace agreement, but Arafat declined mainly because he did not want peace." Another 25.4 percent believed that both parties were responsible for the failure, and about 3 percent replied that Arafat did want peace, but Barak was not forthcoming enough in meeting the needs of the Palestinians. (Sixteen percent replied that they didn't know the answer.)

Over 45 percent of Israeli Jews have imprinted on their memories the version that the second intifada broke out only, or principally, because Arafat planned the conflict in advance. Only 15 percent of them believe the viewpoint presented by three heads of the Shin Bet security services: that the intifada was mainly the eruption of a popular protest. Over half those polled hold the Palestinians responsible for the failure of the Oslo process, 6 percent hold Israel responsible, and 28.4 percent said both sides were equally responsible.

Among the same Jewish public, 40 percent are unaware that at the end of the 19th century, the Arabs were an absolute majority among the inhabitants of the Land of Israel. Over half of respondents replied that in the United Nations partition plan, which was rejected by the Arabs, the Arabs received an equal or larger part of the territory of the Land of Israel, relative to their numbers; 26.6 percent did not know that the plan offered the 1.3 million Arabs a smaller part of the territory (44 percent) than was offered to 600,000 Jews (55 percent).

Bar-Tal claims that this distortion of memory is no coincidence. He says that the details of the plan do not appear in any textbook, and this is a deliberate omission. "Knowledge of how the land was divided could arouse questions regarding the reason why the Arabs rejected the plan and make it possible to question the simplistic version: We accepted the partition plan, they didn't."

However, his study shows that a larger percentage of the Jewish population in Israel believes that in 1948, the refugees were expelled (47.2 percent of respondents), than those who still retain the old Zionist version (40.8 percent), according to which the refugees left on their own initiative. On this point, not only do almost all the history books provide up-to-date information, but some local school textbooks do as well. Even on the television program "Tekuma" ("Rebirth," a 1998 documentary series about Israel's first 50 years), the expulsion of the Arabs was mentioned.

Nets-Zehngut also finds a degree of self-criticism in the answers relating to the question of overall responsibility for the conflict. Of those surveyed, 46 percent think that the responsibility is more or less evenly divided between Jews and Arabs, 4.3 percent think that the Jews are mainly to blame, and 43 percent think that the Arabs and the Palestinians are mainly to blame for the outbreak and continuation of the conflict. It turns out, therefore, that when the country's education system and media are willing to deal with distorted narratives, even a collective memory that has been etched into people's minds for years can be changed.

Bar-Tal says he takes no comfort in the knowledge that Palestinian collective memory suffers from similar ills, and that it is also in need of a profound change - a change that would help future generations on both sides to regard one another in a more balanced, and mainly a more humane manner. This process took many decades for the French and the Germans, and for the Protestants and the Catholics in Northern Ireland. When will it finally begin here, too?

Killing Palestinians Doesn't Count

A relative of Palestinian farmer Anwar al-Beram cries during his funeral in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip January 27, 2009.

Jan 29, 2009

On January 27th media headlines trumpeted that Palestinians had broken the latest cease-fire: a bomb had killed one Israeli soldier and injured two or three.

Virtually every media outlet reported this action as a major breach in the ceasefire that had begun on January 18th: CNN, AP, NPR, the New York Times, The Washington Post, Fox News, ABC, CBS, the Christian Science Monitor, the LA Times, the McClatchy Newspapers, etc, all pinned the resumption of violence on Palestinians.

There’s just one problem. Israeli forces had already violated the ceasefire at least seven times:

  • Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer in Khuza'a east of Khan Yunis on Jan 18
  • Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer east of Jabalia on Jan. 19
  • Israeli naval gunboats shelled the Gaza coastline, causing damage to civilian structures
  • Israeli troops shot and injured a child east of Gaza City on Jan 22
  • Israeli gunboat fire injured 4-7 Palestinian fishermen on Jan 22
  • Israeli shelling set a Palestinian house on fire on Jan 22
  • Israeli tanks fired on the border town of Al Faraheen, causing damage to homes and farms on Jan 24

Yet, Americans who rely on American media for their news on Israel-Palestine are being led to believe that Palestinians initiated the violence (the death of one Israeli soldier) that has now led to Israel’s latest onslaught:

By the end of the day, according to reports, Israeli forces had already killed a 27-year-old Palestinian farmer by tank fire; had closed the crossings into Gaza, denying the entire population (1.5 million) access to desperately needed shipments of food, medicine, and other humanitarian aid; had launched a military drone that fired a missile into the city of Khan Yunis, injuring a Hamas member on a motorcycle and apparently at least one Palestinian child nearby; had sent 20 tanks and seven military bulldozers into Gaza; and had occupied a Palestinian home near the town of Deir Al Balah.

This is not the first time that the media have reversed the chronology of Israeli-Palestinian violence. While the media widely reported that Israel’s three-week-long massacre of Palestinians begun on Dec. 27th was a reaction to Palestinian rockets, the fact is that Israel had initiated the violence by breaking the truce on Nov. 4th by killing six Palestinians and injuring another six, and on Nov. 5th by killing yet another Palestinian. Only after this Israeli violence (and its continued suffocating closure of Gaza, another extremely significant truce violation) did Hamas rocket fire resume.

For Hillary, too, Palestinians don’t count

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held her very first news conference at the State Department, announcing:  "We support Israel's right to self-defense. The [Palestinian] rocket barrages which are getting closer and closer to populated areas [in Israel] cannot go unanswered."

Most Palestinian rockets are homemade projectiles constructed of scrap metal. They began to be launched only after Israeli invasions of Gaza and the West Bank had killed and injured hundreds of civilians. In six years, these rockets have killed a total of 28 Israelis. Israel killed at least 40 Palestinian men, women, and children in a few minutes on Jan. 6th when it struck a UN school. During its Dec-Jan invasion Israeli forces killed over 1,300 Gazan men, women, and children and injured over 5,000; Palestinian resistance fighters killed 9 Israelis, 4 of them civilians.

Hillary is only able to get away with such absurd and offensive statements, giving a green light for further carnage, and Israel is only able to continue its murderous rampages, because mainstream media coverage of Israel-Palestine is so abysmal.

It is time for all of us to tell the media we want the facts on Israel-Palestine, and to tell our neighbors, our Congressional representatives, and our new president what they are. We voted for change. It’s time we got it.

"There are only two powers in the world…the sword of the oppressor and the spirit of the oppressed. In the long run, the sword is always defeated by the spirit."
- Napoleon Bonaparte

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands."
–Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.

"May the Holy Name visit retribution on the Arabs' heads, and cause their seed to be lost, and annihilate them, and cause them to be vanquished and cause them to be cast from the world. It is forbidden to be merciful to them, you must give them missiles, with relish - annihilate them. Evil ones, damnable ones."
– Ultra-Orthodox Shas Party spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, in a sermon discussing Passover and God's wrath at Israel's enemies, 8 April 2001. Some months ago he distinguished himself by describing Arabs as "snakes" whom "God regrets having created".

"On the morrow of a persecution in Europe in which they had been the victims of the worst atrocities ever known… the Jews' immediate reaction to their own experience was to become persecutors in their turn… In 1948, the Jews knew, from personal experience, what they were doing; and it was their supreme tragedy that the lessons learnt by them from their encounter with the Nazi German Gentiles should have been not to eschew but to initiate some of the evil deeds that the Nazis had committed against the Jews…." "Right and wrong are the same in Palestine as anywhere else. What is peculiar about the Palestine conflict is that the world has listened to the party that has committed the offence and has turned a deaf ear to the victims."
–Professor Arnold Toynbee, famed British Historian, in "A Study of HIstory"

Note:

Israel and its subservient American supporters always and deliberately sabotage and embarrass U.S. Presidents, U.N. officials, and American or European peace envoys, whenever they visit Israel or the region or placate and appease the Arab world that they're looking to jump start the "thief of land piece by piece peace process".

Last night, January 28, ABCNEWS reported that a CIA chief in Algeria drugged and raped two Muslim women. What was most curious was the timing of the story given that the investigation began last fall. It smacks of a conspiracy to embarrass Obama's outreach to the Muslim world and the fact that he gave his first TV interview to an Arab Satellite network where he spoke fondly of his family's Muslim heritage, his respect for the Muslim world and his desire to develop a harmonious relationship between the U.S. and Muslims worldwide.

So Obama thinks he can bypass Israel and reach out directly to the Muslim world. Not a chance. Many Presidents have tried and failed. These American Presidents just don't get it.

As soon as Obama's MidEast envoy arrived in Israel, Israel launched a massive naval and air strike on Gaza hoping to derail his mission even before it began. He was asking for a forceful ceasefire and his answer was more dead Palestinians.

While UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon was in Israel for ceasefire talks Israel deliberately bombed the U.N. headquarters of its Relief Agency burning it and its warehouses stocked with food supplies. All he could do was express outrage and leave deeply embarrassed knowing full well he's impotent to deal with Israel. Israel doesn't just kill Palestinian children it demands the rest starve to death.

An example from the past is the experience of Former Secretary of State James Baker's deep frustration that whenever he visited Israel for peace discussions he would always be met with a new illegal settlement in the occupied territories.

On May 22, 1992 he expressed his anger by saying:

"Every time I have gone to Israel in connection with the peace process on each of my trips I have been met with the announcement of new settlement activity. This does violate United States policy…. I don't think there is any greater obstacle to peace than settlement activity that continues not only unabated but at an advanced pace."

Not even an American President can face down Israel given its ownership of Congress, the massive Jewish ownership and directorship of the media, and a tsunami of a well funded, organized, rapid response attack army spread across all institutions and in every state. It's become shamefully apparent that Washington D.C. is the capitol of Israel not of America.

Two days ago The Guardian newspaper had a story entitled "Fuelling the Cycle of Hate" The first paragraph of the article reads:

"Israeli soccer matches were suspended during the assault on Gaza. When the games resumed last week, the fans had come up with a new chant: "Why have the schools in Gaza been shut down?" sang the crowd. "Because all the children were gunned down!" came the answer."

Such is the nurtured hate among Israel's youth by a nation that can only see its worth, value, and supremacy in the cold blooded genocide and murder of little children. A rogue nation of mostly vampires who vote with blood stained ballots dipped in the hearts and minds of innocent children who find no safety from bombs, rockets, missiles, and bullets whether they are in their homes, schools, hospitals; and most shockingly, not even in their graves, for they bomb graves too. What kind of a people are capable of bombing little graves?

Never in the sixty years since Israel's genocidal establishment and massive ethnic cleansing of Palestinians has the world, especially the western world that gave birth to this illegitimate nation, been given the opportunity to study and understand the historical context of Israel's formation and the dispossession of millions of Palestinians from their homes and land to be condemned to live in refugee camps and tents for decades.

Israel's military prowess unleashed at opportune times to kill, destroy, bulldoze, and sabotage every U.N. Resolution, every peace effort, every aspect of humanitarian law and respect for the life of the "other" be it an American, European, or Palestinian is only exceeded by its media, public relations, propaganda machine, and it powerfully intimidating lobbies, like AIPAC, that have silenced the conscience of governments and western citizenry.

It is the untouchable nation, a nation above all divine and human law, a nation that can drop with total impunity a white phosphorous missile upon a U.N. school massacring children who'll never see daylight again.

We're all complicit and guilty in our fear, silence, and aversion to face an aggressive intimidating political and media power that slimes those who dare to speak for peace, justice, and the sanctity of all lives. We seek comfort and security in our cowardly silence. We wish to avoid the career ending smear of the Neo-Scarlet Letter: A for Anti Semite, although hardly any Jew living today is a Semite.

We must find our voice, we must find our courage to fight the corruption of truth, history, and establish our commitment that all lives are sacred and equal; that there are no chosen people, no supremacy or superiority of one race to another, that all mankind is treated equally under divine and human laws; that the white man's superiority complex doesn't become the dark man's eternal burden.

I congratulate and respect Professor Tariq Ramadan's initiative and all who support it around the world.

Please sign this laudable effort, it's the least we can do to regain some semblance of our humanity. In addition please boycott all Israeli goods products. If you can, complain to the store owners and managers that you won't be buying such products. To identify products from Israel look at the BAR CODE on the product and look for the number "729", usually precedes the remaining numbers)

It's shocking but not unexpected that the most impotent, incompetent, and corrupt governments toward the massacre and suffering of the Palestinians are the Arab leaders themselves; none more so than the "moderates" who'd rather fight their fellow Muslims than switch from their subservience to the Israeli American axis.

Zionism is a political, moral, and spiritual corruption of Judaism. Like Nazism it's based on the supremacy of one race above another. Like Nazism, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and theft of property is a de facto ideology to create a "Jewish Only" State at the expense of expelling Muslims and Christians from the Holy Land. Like Nazism, its power stems from a powerful military and a most powerful propaganda machine that indoctrinates the masses with the ideology that killing a people is an act of self defense that ultimately will benefit the world and protect western civilization.

Zionism is pure unadulterated racism and a system of Apartheid that many morally courageous Jews in and out of Israel believe has threatened not only Israel but Jews around the world and for generations to come. God forbid, one can blame Zionism for any future persecution of Jews.

Has the west lost its conscience? Has its threshold for inquisitiveness, knowledge and reasoned study been lost? Has its threshold for empathy and caring for the less fortunate, the oppressed, the killed, the homeless, the injured, the hungry, the poor, sick, and the hungry been sabotaged by the daily bombardment of noise that our brains become teflonish or simply tabula rasas for the lie du jour.

We shall all die. The ultimate question upon our death would be—did we see an evil and tried to stop it; did we see a chance to do good and not do it.

The Holy Land is worthy of our love, caring, and any sacrifice that will bring peace and justice to all who claim it Holy.

Count me among those who've found the courage and voice of my conviction that Israel's atrocities must stop, that we do all we can in civil disobedience to change the policies of our paralyzed governments, and that we spread the word to Jews and gentiles around the world—Join us to Free Palestine—Join us to save the world
from its inhumanity.

God bless, Amen.

Israel And The Logic of Being Untouchable

‘I, the LORD your God will send my terror ahead of you and throw every nation you encounter into confusion…I will drive out all these peoples before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you. Every place you set your foot will be yours…Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. No one will be able to stand against you and I, the LORD your God will put terror and dread of you on the whole land, wherever you go….”

–“Yahweh”, the god of Israel speaking to the Israelites through Moses, Books of Exodus and Deuteronomy

It is a scene (much like that infamous one involving the severed horse’s head in The Godfather) that has doubtlessly been burned into the memories now of hundreds of millions of people worldwide. In the movie The Untouchables (dealing with the same theme of murderers and thugs) Robert DeNiro (playing real-life gangster Al Capone) dressed in the finest clothing money can buy is giving a speech in a fancy dining room full of his fawning criminal associates. The opulence and sophistication of the environment clash with the known fact that the room is peopled with individuals who–for all intents and purposes–are nothing but professional thugs and terrorists, despite their fancy threads, diamond pinky-rings, expensive cigars and $1,000-a-bottle champagne.

Having finished his “motivational” speech amidst the applause and appreciative laughter of all those listening, without warning he puts the “finishing touches” on his message by taking a baseball bat to the back of the head of one of his fellow travelers and beats him to death to the astonishment and horror of all.

Despite the fact that the first KA-BLAM to his victim’s skull no doubt sent him on to meet his maker in haste, DeNiro keeps wailing away, blow after blow after blow without mercy. When he finishes, he stands there, shifting his furious, menacing gaze from person to person, the unmistakable message on his face being–This is what happens when you get on my bad side fellas…

Such is the world of gangsters and terrorists. They know only one language and one way of life, which is to live by the sword. Thus they can only hold their organically-chaotic world together with fear and violence, and what this means more often than not is that the top dog of the pack has to make an example of one of the others (and even when nothing wrong has been done) just to remind the crew what the law of the jungle is all about and how not only is he to be feared, but indeed feared at all times.

And this is the unfortunate thing about terrorism–It works. It keeps people on their toes and at the same time off balance. For those living in close proximity to such circumstances, every moment is spent in dread and under the assumption that this day may be the last, that something might be said or done as seemingly insignificant as forgetting to cross a “t” or dot an “i” that results in someone getting whacked.

This is a theme worth consideration, and particularly when wading through the oceans of ‘expert’ analysis concerning Israel’s latest orgy of bloodletting in Gaza. Whether such cerebral commentary emanates from slightly-horrified people on the left or from orgasmic cheerleaders on the right, all seem to be micro-analyzing the event, theorizing what the “real” motivations were for bringing it about as well as projecting and predicting “this and that” with regards to future political machinations and circumstances involving the Jewish state and her neighbors.

Predictably, some of these “experts” think the bottom line is all financial in nature and see dollar signs as the reason, always safe waters in which to swim these days since you can’t be accused of being a bigot for pointing out the fact that the love of money is the root of all evil. The argument of course is that Israel is not the master but rather the unwitting slave (surprise, surprise) meaning a vassal state of mega-corporations, and– against her otherwise-humanitarian, peace-loving nature, of course–she is acting as the reluctant-yet-obedient hired gun in doing to Gaza what Halliburton and others did to Iraq in exploiting the various petroleum commodities deep underground. Others of the “Military-Industrial-Complex-is-the-root-of-all-evil-and-the-hidden-hand-in-all-things” crowd add even more smoke to an already-confusing battlefield-of-ideas by claiming that the 6,000 people in Gaza killed or maimed in Operation Cast Lead were in effect “lab rats” in testing out new weaponry America is hoping to sell to other countries, also a safe theory to stand behind, as it makes Uncle Sam the bad guy rather than poor, little Israel.

Of course, these ideas and many others may have some truth to them. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day, and if it is one thing all should have learned by now it’s that the ruling elite always find ways of squeezing every drop of blood they can out of the proverbial turnip and if there is to be violence somewhere then by all means it should be capitalized in maximizing every opportunity possible.

However, keeping the discussion in that over-intellectualized/ultra-technical realm, where complex themes are bantered about with even more complex language tends to distract otherwise concerned and interested persons from seeing that there are other motivating factors responsible for the bloodbath not as complicated as some might imagine. The problem however in this regard is that we’re not allowed to talk about these things, because they veer sharply into that uneasy realm of religion and how “matters of faith” can and do result in real-world actions on the part of true believers. Complicating this even further is the fact it is not just ANY religion under the microscope here, but rather the “gorilla in the room” tearing the place to pieces in one of its all-too-typical rampages. And if this weren’t bad enough, it is not just ANY gorilla of the ordinary, run-of-the-mill variety, but rather the “mother of them” all–King Kong Incarnate, and that gorilla’s name is Judaism.

Of course, over-propagandized people (and particularly those of the “Judeo-Christian” flavor) coming into contact with such an outlandish theory as this for the first time will no doubt ask how a “peace-loving/God-fearing religion” such as Judaism could find any moral justification for going in an slaughtering entire towns and cities of people, men women and children.

Well, the answer to that is as easy as the proverbial pouring water out of a boot with the directions on the heel. All one need do is spend 15 minutes strolling down memory lane and read that “Holy Book” known as the Old Testament and all its tales of Deity-inspired genocide against ‘the other’ for the prize to that million dollar question.

And at the risk of appearing like a broken record, what people must understand is that any kind of working comprehension concerning events in the Middle East must begin with the awareness that the Jews are creatures of their Old Testament, its various commandments, characters and covenants. The way they understand the big ol’ universe, as long as they do what their god Yahweh tells them with regards to slaughtering those who have fallen out of favor with him, then he will reward his chosen people with all sorts of perks, a few of which include ruling the world with a rod of iron and, relevant to this discussion–filling others with “terror and dread“.

Terror and dread. There isn’t a right-thinking human being in the world having witnessed what Israel did to the civilian population of Gaza recently who doesn’t understand this concept now. Every single Prime Minister, president, sultan, emir, and even the Pope himself, having watched this event and the complete lack of conscience on the part of–not just the Jewish state in the Middle East, but indeed the Jewish people worldwide, did a quick count of Israel’s 200 nuclear weapons, Jewish control of finance and economics in their respective countries and who then understood the very powerful yet subtle message being sent. Just as those seated around the table when that guy’s brains were beaten out all over the place, every person of measurable power in the world now understands how easily they could wind up in place of the Palestinians in Gaza if they don’t play their cards right. We can also be sure that this bloodshed–taking place as it is right before the “peaceful” transition of power in America where a dark-skinned man with a Muslim-sounding name took over was meant to convey a particular message as well lest he have any lingering questions about what kind of dog he is dealing with.

What it all boils down to, after all the fancy talk and theories, is that the reason this attack took place is because the great experiment in Jewish self-rule in the Middle East is failing. By virtue of the corruption, blackmail and bribery that must take place in lieu of Yahweh’s Old Testament miracles in keeping this sickly stillborn known as the Jewish state alive, the fact is that Yahweh is not living up to his promises. The stories in the Old Testament that revel in the Israelites’ defeat of the various peoples living there are over and done with in a few sentences. The Israelites invade, kill everyone and everything, collect the spoils, burn the cities and with no losses.

Now however, 60 years later, it is still dragging on with no signs of letting up. All those promises by their god to “drive out” the various peoples living there has not happened. The assurance that “Every place you set your foot will be yours“ has turned out to be one giant goose egg.…The plan to make their territory extend “from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea” is so much like that infamous “Special report” Geraldo Rivera did years ago when he opened Al Capone’s secret vault, only to find nothing. The “No one will be able to stand against you and I, the LORD your God will put terror and dread of you on the whole land, wherever you go” is not materializing…

On the contrary, the Palestinians and other “Ishmaelites” in the area are not giving up. The “terror” and “dread” Yahweh is supposed to be sowing in their hearts and minds is not there, save for a few corrupt leaders who fear losing their multi-million dollar paychecks courtesy of Uncle Sam. The people themselves–be they Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad or whatever–do not fear the Jews as the Jews dream. The spell that the god of Israel is supposed to cast over Israel’s foes has no power. The harder the Arabs are hit… the more miserable their lives are made, the stronger their resolve to survive and as a result the Jews are getting batty. Every rock-throwing child or bottlerocket-launching member of Hamas is a living testimony to the fact that the god of the Jews is a fantasy, a mirage and a tin god with no real power outside of his ability to destroy their humanity. Whereas the “Christian” world cowers in fear merely at the prospect of being called names by the Jews, Palestinian Muslim children stare down Israeli tanks KNOWING they will be blown to bits and have no fear in their hearts, and again, in effect making a liar out of Yahweh and his promises of “putting terror” into the hearts of Israel’s enemies.

And indeed, if this is all mere fantasy, if there is no “Yahweh” and there is no “terror” being put in the hearts and minds of Israel’s enemies, what else is there? What other surprises are there in store? What other ideas upon which the Jewish state and Jewish identity have been founded are also rooted in fantasy? By extension, the moment Yahweh is revealed for the fraud he is, they cease being the “chosen” people “destined” to rule the world while “making footstools” of all their enemies…

…and it is the prospect of this, the possibility of falling from grace and being forced to face the reality that they are not the most beautiful and cherished creatures in the garden, that they are not the god-men they envision themselves being but rather mere mortals is too much reality for them to handle…

…which is why innocent men, women and children have to be bombed into oblivion, to keep the delusion alive and to stave off coming to grips with the truth that they–the Jews–are a mad people who have formed their identity around mad notions rooted in superiority and unadulterated narcissism. By virtue of this latest slaughter that figured (with the now-official blessings of worldwide Jewry) deliberate targeting of women and children, phosphorous bombs, using the bodies of dead children for target practice or loosing attack dogs on their remains, what the Jewish state and its supporters throughout the world are saying in effect is–

“We are barbarians…We hold no value in the lives of Gentiles who were created by the god of Israel to serve us…You will see things our way and you will participate in our delusion even if it means the consummation of all life on earth, and by our actions you now know we are willing to do it…”

None should be particularly surprised to learn of this. If it is one theme shoved down the throats of the Gentile world now for the last 4,000 years it’s that Israel, both as a people and now as a nation–is not like “other” nations. As she is fond of telling the rest of the world, her fabric and being cannot be compared to anything else. She is, as former Defense Minister Moshe Dayan called her, “a mad dog“, and as notable individuals from Menachem Begin to Elie Wiesel to Rabbi Mendel Schneerson have stated–“ontologically different”…that her people are “of a totally different quality from the other nations of the world“ since a non-Jewish soul comes from “three satanic spheres” while the Jewish soul “stems from holiness”.

In short, they make up this class of creation known as “the Untouchables,” and along with that comes a peculiar “logic” that escapes the understanding of the rest of us.

Yes, sometimes it really is as simple as that, something that does not need a whole hell of a lot of expert analysis and decoding. And remember, since 9/11, boiling it all down to whacked-out religious reasons is not just perfectly acceptable, but absolutely obligatory. We are not just permitted, but rather COMMANDED to put aside all “technical” explanations involving factors such as economics, history, colonialism or politics into the equation when trying to understand in a rational way this thing called “Islamic” terrorism. No, when it comes to understanding Ahab the Arab and why he wants to kill everyone, things such as “jihad”, “fatwa” and “72 virgins” will suffice, thank you very much.

Perhaps it was the remarks attributed to Mr. War Criminal Ariel Sharon himself who best encapsulated the Untouchable mindset as well as the idea that “Jews will be Jews” in an interview taking place in 1982-

“…You can call me anything you like. Call me a monster or a murderer. Call Israel by any name you like, call it a Judeo-Nazi state. Why not? Better a live Judeo-Nazi than a dead saint. I am not after the admiration of the gentiles. I don’t need their love. I don’t need to be loved by Jews either…”

“Even if you’ll prove to me that the present war in Lebanon is a dirty immoral war, I don’t care. Moreover, even if you will prove to me that we have not achieved and will not achieve any of our aims in Lebanon, that we will neither create a friendly regime in Lebanon nor destroy the Syrians or even the PLO, even then I don’t care. It was still worth it. And do you know why it is all worth it? Because it seems that this war has made us more unpopular among the so-called civilized world…”

“We’ll hear no more of that nonsense about that unique Jewish morality and all the bullshit talk about a unique people being a light upon nations. No more uniqueness and no more sweetness and light. Good riddance…I personally don’t want to be any better than Harry Truman who killed half a million Japanese with two fine bombs…”

“Tell me, do the baddies of this world have a bad time? They hunt and catch whatever they feel like eating. They don’t suffer from indigestion and are not punished by Heaven. I want Israel to join that club. Maybe the world will then at last begin to fear us instead of feeling sorry. Maybe they will start to tremble, to fear our madness instead of admiring our nobility. Let them tremble, let them call us a mad state. Let them understand that we are a wild country, dangerous to our surroundings, not normal, that we might go crazy, that we might go wild and burn all the oil fields in the Middle East, or that we might start World War Three just like that…”

“Let me tell you what is the most important thing, the sweetest fruit of the war in Lebanon: It is that now they don’t just hate Israel. Thanks to us, they now also hate all those Jews in Paris, London, New York, Frankfurt and Montreal, in all their holes, and I am telling you, it is a pleasure to watch. They are being identified with us and that’s a good thing…Their cemeteries are being desecrated, their synagogues are set on fire, all their old nicknames are being revived, they are being expelled from the best clubs, people shoot into their ethnic restaurants murdering small children, forcing them to remove any sign showing them to be Jews, forcing them to move and change their profession…”

“We are Judeo-Nazis, and why not? If your nice civilized parents had come here and had killed six million Arabs here or even one million, what would have happened? Sure, two or three nasty pages would have been written in the history books, we would have been called all sorts of names, but we could be here today as a people of 25 million…”

“Even today I am willing to volunteer to do the dirty work for Israel, to kill as many Arabs as necessary, to deport them, to expel and burn them, to have everyone hate us, to pull the rug from underneath the feet of the Diaspora Jews, so that they will be forced to run to us crying. Even if it means blowing up one or two synagogues here and there, I don’t care. And I don’t mind if after the job is done you put me in front of a Nuremberg Trial and then jail me for life. What you don’t understand is that the dirty work of Zionism is not finished yet, far from it…”
