Israeli Army Working Tirelessly to Avoid Surprises!

Al-Manar
Israeli Chief of Staff Benny Gantz declared that the Israeli military was working tirelessly to ensure enemy forces never surprise Israel again. He explained his operational doctrine, which is based on the concept to always be war-ready. "We've taken this approach and traslated it into an operational doctrine of readiness and alertness. It is what dictates our daily fight against tenacious threats," he said in an interview with Israeli daily Yedihot Ahronot.

He said that the Israeli army was constantly developing its adaptability to changes dictated by the challenges it faces. "We can never grow accustomed to any operational concept and we must always study given situations further and adapt to regional changes," he added.

He expressed hope Israel would not find itself once more taken by surprise by an "enemy" army. "This is why we must continue to cultivate our military superiority and the Israeli army must always be at the top of its game," he explored. "The army, and me as its chief, work tirelessly to ensure that we are not surprised again. That's our job. That's been our mission since the state's inception."

"Every commander must remember that his troops are counting on him," he said, when asked what army officers should remember in general. "Those of us who wear uniforms are obligated to make sure we are never again surprised in such a manner," he added.

NATO: ‘Taliban are returning’

Retired US Gen. Stanley McChrystal, former head of US and NATO forces (168,000) in Afghanistan recently addressed a meeting arranged by CFR, one of America’s most powerful pro-Israel think tank headed by Zionist Jew, Dr. Richard Haass. He admitted that Americans including himself did not know the past history of Afghans’ military resistance to their foreign occupiers. Watch a video below.
“We didn’t know enough and we still don’t know enough,” McChrystal said. “Most of us, me included, had a very superficial understanding of the situation and history, and we had a frighteningly simplistic view of recent history, the last 50 years.”

In 2009, Stanley McChrystal, angered the Obama’s Israel-Firster administration by demanding more American boots on ground rather than relying on drone missile strikes. He said that Vice-president Joe Biden’s (a pro-Israel Zionist Christian) recommendations will turn Afghanistan into “Choas-istan”. An irritated Obama summond the General aboard Air Force One and told him to “shut up and keep a low profile“.

Several high-ranking military officials agreed with Stanley McChrystal and predicted a failure of US-NATO mission in Afghanistan and return of Taliban rule. According to independent military sources, Taliban and their allied groups already control 80% of Afghan territory. Once Afghanistan returns to Taliban rule – the Jewish Lobby is affraid Jewish mafia will loose lucrative drugs market and expected Caspian oil supply to Israel.

Last month, senior German Gen. Harald Kujat, told the German daily Mitteldeutsche Zeitung that if US-NATO reduce their forces after 2014, Taliban will return to power. Germany has 5,000 soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Israel to Release Body of Martyred Palestinian after 35 Years

Al-Manar
Israeli authorities will hand over the body of a Palestinian killed in 1976, via Qalqiliya checkpoint on Sunday, officials told Ma'an news agency.

The remains of Hafez Muhammad Hussein Abu Zant have been held for 35 years in Israeli custody, after he was killed in an operation by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine against Israeli forces in the Jordan Valley.

DFLP official Muhammad Dweikat told Ma'an Israeli authorities informed officials Abu Zant's body had been approved for release after all the necessary examinations, including DNA tests, were complete.

The Palestinian National Campaign for the Release of Martyrs Bodies will arrange a reception for the killed fighter on Sunday, Dwiekat said.

Officials say Abu Zant was likely buried in Israel's "cemetery of numbers," a series of mass graves, marked and unmarked plots of mostly Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces over the past 60 years.

The DFLP official said the bodies of more than 350 killed Palestinians remain in the cemetery.

“No intention whatsoever!”

Via FLC

"... “No intention whatsoever,” emphasized NATO’s secretary-general, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, earlier this week in Brussels.

The reason is a brew of international political complications, worries over unleashing a civil war and plausible risks of touching off a wider Middle East conflict with archfoes Israel and Iran in the mix. In the end, Assad has more powerful friends and carries far more wild cards than Moammar Gadhafi’s Libya, analysts say....
But some see even greater dangers if Assad falls without a clear successor, such as the transition administration built by Libya’s former rebels. Syria has an array of competing factions and allegiances, including some Sunni groups falling behind Saudi Arabia pitted against Assad’s Alawite minority ...
“Israel is more worried if there is civil war,” said Meir Javedanfar, an Iranian-born regional analyst based in Israel. “During the chaos, Iranian-backed factions could take the opportunity to strike Israel. The last thing Iran wants is a Saudi-allied regime emerging in Syria. Iran will not sit by as spectators.”
Assad also still carries favor in Moscow and Beijing, which on Tuesday vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution that would have condemned Syria... both Russia and China worry that the downfall of Assad will be a severe blow to their interests in the Middle East.
... ... no one in Washington or elsewhere is raising the option of airstrikes — such as NATO’s campaign in Libya — or other types of military action to try to cripple Assad’s regime. Libya shows another likely reason why: Gadhafi’s security forces battled for six months against rebels despite being hammered by NATO strikes, and they continue to fight in pockets a month after the fall of Tripoli... “Syria is not Libya,” said Khaled Mahadeen, a Jordanian columnist and former government adviser in Amman. “Any such action will have serious repercussions across the Arab world.”...'

On Alan Hart and naked Hypocrisy

In his latest article, with the headline:  Hypocrisy at its most naked, Alan Hart, in his opening paragraph, criticized Russia and China’s veto of the UN Security Council resolution which condemned Syria over its "brutal crackdown on anti-government protesters". I don't expect MR. Linkman, to tell his readers who are the so-called anti-government protesters, and what's their real agenda.

Susan RiceAlan Mocked Susan Rice, who "will cast the U.S. veto to kill the Palestinians’ bid for Security Council recognition of their statehood (if the bid gets to the Security Council)", for saying:

"The United States is outraged that this council has utterly failed to address an urgent moral challenge and a growing threat to regional peace and security"

But he claimed the UN Security Council resolution against syria "contained a weak reference to the possibility of sanctions against Damascus". Therefore, Russia and China’s Veto reflects "short-term, short-sighted, political self-interest of leaders and their governments."

Again, no surprise, I don't expect Mr. Linkman to say the Veto reflect the Long-term, strategic Russia and China’s interests, in fighting the USA, without shotting a single bullet, that losing, what Mr. Linkman called "Bashar al-Assad’s monster regime", means removal of the corner stone of the axis of resistance, and pave a new way, for another Big Bang (USRAEL NEW MIDDLE EAST) after the failure of July's war Big Bang.

Back to Alan's claim that the Russia and China’s veto of the UN Security Council "is, of course, the same Susan Rice who will cast the U.S. veto to kill the Palestinians’ bid for Security Council recognition of their statehood (if the bid gets to the Security Council)".
"It is apparently of no concern to her and her master that the Security Council has utterly failed, time and time again, to address the criminal policies of the Zionist (not Jewish) state of Israel, policies which present a far more urgent moral challenge and growing threat to regional peace and security than what Bashar al-Assad’s monster regime is doing in Syria." he added,
He avoided telling his readers what "Bashar al-Assad’s monster regime is doing in Syria." and how it threaten the regional peace and security?. Therefore, I have to read between the lines.

Syria, as Ahmad Jibreel said from Tahran few days ago, was the the Palestininan resistance's safe haven.

Syria was "Father" Palestine's base since early 60's, almost ten years before Hafez Assad, from Syria he shot his first bullet, and paved the way to 1967 defeat. After, Black September, "Father Palestine" returned to Hafez Assad's Syria, and after his Lebanon's adventure, and Mr. Linkman's "little peace conspiracy" Arafat dropped his gun and moved to Tunis, while all other resistance factions moved north and east to continue their armed resistance.

In hosting the Resistance Leaders, supporting the resistance in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine the Syrian "Monster" foiled Mr. Linkman's "little peace conspiracy", and still threatening the new "Big Bang" (the new "Father" Palestine's bid.)

Commenting on professor Shlomo Avineri, most recent article is in Ha’aretz: No realistic chance of permanent Middle East peace.

"In his speech to the UN General Assembly, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas once again made a common Palestinian mistake: a Palestinian leader does not have to persuade the nations of the world, but rather the Israelis. A Palestinian state will arise only if the Palestinians convince the Israelis that they are indeed ready to live in peace and mutual recognition." Shlomo Avineri

Alan wrote: "In theory that makes a lot of sense, but it ignores the fact that most Israeli Jews have been brainwashed by Zionist propaganda and, as a consequence, need to feel threatened, need to believe they are the victims and not the oppressors."

I am not surprised with Mr. Harts, even after  Gilad Atzemon's Bombshell: "The Wandering Who", is insisting that the problem is Zionism and it's propaganda brainwashing most Israeli Jews, not in Jewishness, not in Jewish culture and identity.

Alan put it another way, "most Israeli Jews do not want to believe that the Palestinians (the vast majority of them) have long been ready for peace on terms which any rational government and people in Israel would have accepted with relief."

I will put it a third way, Mr. Linkman, it's not mine, there is no peace in Jewish Language , Shalom means security for Jews and Jews only, thus said Gilad Atzemon, I would add that explain why Rabin was assassinated and the rise of Likud, "who do not want to believe that the Palestinians" (not the vast majority of them, Mr. Linkman, unless you consider the uprooted Palestinians in Diaspora and within their own land are not Palestinians) "have long been ready for peace on terms which any rational government and people in Israel would have accepted with relief.", instead of accepting "Shalom" terms they assassinated Rabin, and killed his OSLO.

Finally Mr. Linkman concluded "That being so, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of peace unless and until an American president has the freedom and the courage to use his leverage to compel Israel to end its occupation of all Arab land grabbed in 1967."

I Put it this way: That being so, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of "regional peace and security unless the Zionist Monster is killed the occupied Zionized western countries are liberated, and Palestine is liberated from river to sea.

In case you missed it: "All vows, oaths, promises, engagements, and swearing,......"

Syria to Pass List of 1100 Syrians killed by Terrorists

Local Editor

Syria will pass to the United Nations a list of names of 1100 people that it said were killed by terrorists who received arms from neighboring countries.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Moqdad stated in Geneva before representatives of 47 member countries in the Human Rights Council at the United Nations that Syria has been facing terrorist threats, and indicated that “in the coming few days we will hand in a list of 1100 martyrs who were employees and police officers, and were killed by terrorists.”

Al-Moqdad further clarified that members of the Syrian security forces have been martyred by terrorists who received weapons from Syria’s neighboring countries.

The Foreign Minister went on explaining that “throughout the last seven months my country has confronted various wars, including a media war as well as media deception and lies, and all sorts of threats.”

He recalled the reforms that President Bashar Al-Assad had announced about, and assured that Syria needed more time for implementing them as “reforms cannot be done while Syrians are being killed on daily basis by extremist terrorist groups.”

“We have received humanitarian activists and the international committee of the Red Cross, and this indicates that we have nothing to hide,” he added.

On the other hand, Iran, Russia, Cuba, and China praised the reforms that President Al-Assad had pledged to implement including lifting the state of emergency and carrying out local elections, while Britain, France, the United States called Syria to end its “criminal acts against civilians”.

Anti-Defamation League Assails Palestinian UN Membership

by Stephen Lendman

For nearly a century, ADL falsely called itself "the nation's premier civil rights/human relations agency (fighting) anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry...."

In fact, all along it fronted for Jewish supremacy. After Israel's 1948 creation, it backed Israeli rights over Arabs, including by occupation and belligerently enforced apartheid.

One of the 52 Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (CPMAJO), ADL disseminates pro-Israeli propaganda.

It also conducts smear campaigns against its critics, under the guise of fighting anti-semitism and supporting human rights equitably. Overall, its long history is shamelessly loathsome.

Earlier it did political spying for the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Later it did it against the National Lawyers Guild, ACLU, NAACP, the Rainbow Coalition, Greenpeace, the Nation of Islam, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Bay Area anti-Apartheid Network, Asian Law Caucus, CISPES, and 20 Bay area labor unions.

Currently it's assailing Palestinian UN membership. Its web site calls "Palestinian unilateralism an obstacle to peace."

It called Abbas' UN address "strident." It said "his calls for peace rang hollow amidst the extreme accusations against Israel, including charges of colonialism (and) ethnic cleansing."

In other words, asking UN member states to grant Palestinians long denied rights is "strident." Wanting peace is "hollow" rhetoric, and rightfully charging Israel of colonialism and ethnic cleaning amounts to "extreme accusations."

In contrast, he praised Netanyahu for "focus(ing) on Israel's desire for peace (and) called on the Palestinians to come back to negotiations."

In fact, like earlier Israeli leaders, Netanyahu deplores peace. They didn't negotiate. Neither does he. Israel demands, take it or else.

ADL offered its sanitized version of "(f)acts on the Palestinian campaign to unilaterally declare statehood," saying:

1. Israel supports "an independent Palestinian state created through bilateral negotiations."

In fact, Israel, at best supports a cantonized Palestine after all valued land Israel wants is stolen. Moreover, Palestinians got statehood in 1988. At issue now is full UN membership. A simple two-thirds majority is needed. Israel has one vote, not veto power or right to dictate terms.

2. Palestinians going it alone violates Israeli/Palestian agreements, "and effectively marks the end of the peace process."

False. As explained, Palestine IS a state. Now it wants full status rights like the other 193. Peace is an entirely separate issue. Palestinians have wanted it for decades. Israel categorically refuses.

3. UN membership "will contravene 'land-for-peace.' "

In 1948, Israel stole 78% of historic Palestine, then the rest in 1967. Palestinians want 22% back free from occupation. An overwhelming number of states support them. Israel and Washington remain obstacles to peace and reconciliation throughout the region.

4. Core issues will remain unresolved, "including borders, refugees and Jerusalem."

Borders must be negotiated. Israel is the only nation without fixed ones. Diaspora Palestinians automatically will be able to return to free Palestine. Jerusalem is an international city under UN trusteeship. Agreement must be reached for Israel and Palestine to share it as their capital. It's not Israel's alone, nor should it ever be.

5. Palestinians acting unilaterally won't assure "a viable and sovereign state."

False. However, it's no protection from Israeli attacks or assurance its occupation will end easily or quickly.

ADL added that Israel expressed "willingness to make concessions for peace." In fact, Israel concedes nothing and deplores peace.

ADL calls Palestinians acting unilaterally "a provocative and hostile action." In other words, after 63 years of futility, pursuing long denied rights is confrontational.

As a result, "Israel has no choice but to oppose UDI by the Palestinians." In fact, except for its General Assembly vote, Israel has no more say than other GA members.

All have equal voting rights unlike the Security Council where one nation can subvert the will of all others. Washington takes full advantage, especially on issues affecting Israel.

ADL urged the international community to reject Palestinian wishes. It also encouraged PA officials to repudiate reconciling with Hamas and deal only with Israel. ADL, in fact, encourages failure to keep Palestinians permanently occupied with no rights.

ADL Message to Abbas

In an open letter to Abbas, ADL director Abraham Foxman railed against PA officials demonizing Israel, saying:

"You say you will not come to negotiate until Mr. Netanyahu says in advance that Israel will concede all the territories and stop all settlements."

In fact, Abbas and other PA officials made one demand - stop settlement construction on stolen Palestinian land. Otherwise no talks. Netanyahu flatly refuses.

"Trust is a two-way street. Let's stop this demonizing. Let's move forward. If you sit down to talk, you may learn that you have far greater reason to trust (Netanyahu) than you thought."

Since the 1970s, "trusting" Israeli leaders got Palestinians nothing except to enforce their own occupation. Netanyahu is Israel's worst ever prime minister. He never gave an inch and won't now.

Yet Foxman urged Abbas to "come(e) back to the table, by negotiating in food faith and by reaching an agreement that finally ends the conflict and provides for a Palestinian state and a Jewish state living side-by-side in peace and security."

Palestinians never wanted less. Israel adamantly refuses. Dealing with racist warmonger Netanyahu assures failure and betrayal. Palestinians aren't trying to isolate and delegitimize Israel.

Under leaders like Netanyahu and extremist Knesset members, Israel is doing it to itself. It's moved so far out of the mainstream, in fact, it may end up self-destructing.

Why else would growing numbers of fed up Israelis be voting with their feet and leaving. Foxman didn't comment nor about Israel's hardline intransigence, refusing ever to negotiate in good faith.

A Final Comment

On October 4, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) granted "Partner for Democracy" status to the Palestine National Council (PNC), the PLO's legislative body.

It's only the second time such status was awarded. PNC Speaker Salim Al-Za'noon called the decision "historic," saying it could contribute to regional peace.

On October 5, UNESCO's executive committee agreed to vote on admitting Palestine as a member. UNESCO's end of October general conference will consider it. France called the move "premature."

Hillary Clinton arrogantly wants UNESCO to reconsider it, saying:

"I would urge the governing body of UNESCO to think again before proceeding with that vote because the decision about status must be made in the United Nations and not in auxiliary groups...."

Israel also opposes it. According to Haaretz, a Foreign Ministry response called it "rejection of the path of negotiations, as well as of the Quartet plan to continue with the political process....A decision like this will not advance the Palestinians in their aspirations to statehood."

As explained above, Palestinians got statehood in 1988. Now they want full UN membership. Washington and Israel are going all out to subvert it.

In the end, they'll likely succeed unless Abbas petitions the General Assembly under the 1950 Uniting for Peace Resolution, giving the GA power to override Security Council rejection.

It's up to him and other PA officials - either go for what's easily achievable in days, or bow to Washington and Israeli interests. Smart money says the latter.

Wall Street Runs America

Wall Street Runs America

 - by Stephen Lendman

Major Wall Street banks occupy and control Washington. They recycle their officials in and out, make policy, and enforce it with money power supremacy for virtually everything they want.

Political Washington salutes and obeys. Money power in private hands and democracy can't co-exist. It buys what it wants at the expense of government of, by and for the people. It never was and isn't now.

On December 23, 1913, Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act, violating the Constitution's Article 1, Section 8, giving Congress sole power to coin (create) money and regulate the value thereof.

Abolishing or nationalizing the Fed and giving people money power back through Congress is step one to regaining rights not possible under banker controlled government.

That's issue one Occupy Wall Street protesters and others spreading across America in dozens of cities must address.

Occupy Together is an "unofficial hub" for burgeoning initiatives heading everywhere "in solidarity with Occupy Wall St."

Word spreads. Hidden anger surfaces. Small numbers grow. So does commitment to stay the course. Activists and ordinary people know something's wrong they want changed. Key is understanding money power in private hands. Change depends on ending a system destroying futures for working Americans.

Major Wall Street firms comprise an illegal private banking cartel monopoly controlling the nation's money, price, supply and availability. For a century, it looted America's economy for its own self-interest.

It's run by unelected, unaccountable crooks in league with corrupt politicians taking bribes in the form of campaign contributions to go along.

Behind closed doors, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and other giants run America, waging financial warfare for profit.

In theory, the Fed was established to stabilize the economy, smooth out the business cycle, manage healthy, sustainable growth, and maintain stable prices.

Instead, it caused multiple recessions, the Great Depression, and today's Greatest Global one. It also caused monetary inflation and America's declining standard of living, notably in recent decades.

In fact, a 1913 dollar today isn't worth a plug nickel, and given reckless Greenspan/Bernanke money creation it's value is eroding entirely. Notably the Fed caused:
  • rising consumer debt;
  • record budget and trade deficits;
  • a soaring national debt equaling GDP and heading higher;
  • escalating personal and business bankruptcies, both up around 35% in 2009; near record levels persisted in 2010;
  • millions of home foreclosures in America's worst ever housing Depression;
  • unemployment at nearly 23%;
  • loss of the nation's manufacturing base;
  • shocking levels of poverty in the world's richest country;
  • an unprecedented wealth gap; and
  • a hugely unstable economy lurching from one crisis to another; it lets money power in private hands profit, as they say, all the way to the bank by buying valued assets cheap to consolidate to greater size and get open checkbook trillions for speculation and big bonuses.
Easy money, market manipulation, deregulation, reckless speculation, counterproductive fixes, and unsustainable debt caused today's crisis.
Why else would gold and silver prices soar. Bad policy assures worse trouble ahead. Instead of washing out excesses, they increase over time. Eventually, an unsustainable house of cards collapses, especially when credit contraction persists.

The combination of monopoly money power in private hands combined with financialization at the expense of industrial America produced policies wrecking the country and futures of ordinary workers.

Job creation is moribund. Industrial America keeps imploding. High-paying jobs are exported. Economic prospects are grim. Workers are exploited for greater profits, and no one's sure how to revive stable, sustainable long-term growth.

America's FIRE sector (finance, insurance, and real estate) fueled casino capitalist speculation over capital goods investments in plant, equipment, transportation, and public utilities that earlier fueled business cycle expansions.

Instead of making better things for better living, America's financialized economy proliferates unbridled greed, fueled by limitless amounts of privately created money destroying the country.

Headquartered on Wall Street, America and global economies are strip-mined for profit. Investors and workers are ripped off. Money is manipulated to make more of it at their expense.

In league with political Washington, profits are privatized, losses socialized. Main Street is sacrificed for Wall Street. It's grand theft on an enormous scale, transferring wealth to giant banks, other corporate favorites, and super-rich elites already with too much.

Since the 1970s, wages stagnated and lost purchasing power. Inflation rose. Benefits like retirement savings eroded. Household debt rose to compensate. Two wage-earners now keep up with one years back.

Accumulating enormous excesses, monopoly money power caused 2008's global collapse. Capitalism's dark side and destructive contradictions were exposed, particularly its financialized form.

Money power in private hands is exploitively destructive. Global populations are harmed. As a result, poverty in developed countries soared. In underdeveloped ones it deepened, leaving millions facing destitution and human misery, even death.

Money power buys influence. Wall Street rules America and the world. Deregulated excess produced unprecedented fraud and grand theft, insider trading, misrepresentation, Ponzi schemes, false accounting, market manipulation, toxic financial products, unprecedented profits, and massive public deception.

Deregulation facilitated it. Whatever Wall Street wants it gets. Without money power, Washington can't or won't intercede enough to matter. Trying produces days like 2010's May 6 "flash crash," cratering the Dow 1,000 points, then recovering losses in minutes. Wall Street's power creates or destroys financial assets with keystroke ease.

If Congress had money power and regulatory backbone, too-big-to-fail banks wouldn't exist. Public banks would operate with small private ones. Every state would prosper like North Dakota, the only one with a state-owned bank.

During the height of 2008's financial crisis, North Dakota had its largest ever surplus. Global contagion cratered other states. If they operated like North Dakota, prosperity would replace gloom.

If federal, state or local governments lend their own money, profit isn't at issue so rates can be low and affordable to businesses, farmers, and private individuals. Moreover, for federal, state, and municipality needs, government-issued credit is interest-free.

In addition, public banks don't have to earn profits. They're not beholden to Wall Street or shareholders. Only federal, state or local community creditworthiness matters.

In over 235 years, neither America or any state went bankrupt. Only poorly governed Arkansas defaulted during the Great Depression. Under publicly run banks, sustained prosperity is possible inflation free as long as recycled money goes for productive economic growth.

Whenever it was tried, it worked impressively, including in colonial America for a generation, and today in North Dakota. Why not everywhere across America including Washington.

Sound monetary policy isn't rocket science. It's common sense, serving public interest needs, not shareholders or Wall Street profiteers seeking maximum profits for private gain.

Without knowing the merits of public over privatized banking, Occupy Wall Streeters know a better way is vital.

In days, New York protests went viral, erupting in dozens of cities nationwide. The hacktivist "Anonymous" group urges "(e)veryone, everywhere (to occupy) their towns, their capitals and other public spaces."

It's a collective 99% majority against "corruption, greed and inequality." A minority 1% wants privatized money power for more of it. Everyone else demands change.

Putting their bodies on the line despite police brutality is key. So far spreading activism is impressive. Growing and sustaining its energy is crucial.

Famed Chicago activist Saul Alinsky (1909 - 1972) knew the best way to beat organized money is with organized people, "getting it altogether" for change.

Calling conflict "the essential core of a free and open society," he said "(i)f one were to project the democratic way of life in the form of a musical score, its major theme would be the harmony of dissonance," working for the common good.

It's core issue is returning money power to public hands as a first step to having government of, by and for the people serving everyone.

If that's not worth sustained struggle, what is?
