Uprooted Palestinians are at the heart of the conflict in the M.E Palestinians uprooted by force of arms. Yet faced immense difficulties have survived, kept alive their history and culture, passed keys of family homes in occupied Palestine from one generation to the next.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri submitted his government’s resignation to President Michel Aoun on October 29, leaving a political stalemate as parties started mulling a very complicated cabinet creation.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed on Thursday that the US has failed to instigate against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Addressing the 33rd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Sheikh Qassem said there have been nationwide anti-corruption protests in Lebanon.
However, there has been also
“a failed attempt by the US to direct course of the events at blaming Hezbollah for the current crisis.”
“We are certain that the US will fail in its latest attempts in Lebanon,” Sheikh Qassem said, adding: “God willing, we will be part of the solution.”
Meanwhile, he praised Iran for supporting the resistance as saying:
“We recognize the Islamic Republic of Iran as the head of Axis of Resistance.”
On the other hand, Sheikh Qassem said that Hezbollah has developed its capabilities throughout the years since 1982, and managed to triumph in several wars against the Zionist entity and the Takfiri terrorists.
Referring to several regional states who have been moving towards normalizing ties with the Zionist entity, Sheikh Qassem said:
“There are no worries since these states (which seek normalization) have been exposed before it was too late, and now they are out of the equation.”
The Chairman of MTV Channel and “Studio Vision” Company, Michel Gabriel El Murr, will be tried at the Court of Appeals on December 9 on charges of public funds embezzlement and tax evasion, according to a report posted by Al-Ahed News Website.
The report clarified that El Murr is accused of infringing on the public telecommunication system by pirating the international phone calls which, by law, are monopolized by the government, adding that he was acquitted in 2018 and that the authorities appealed the verdict later.
Judiciary sources told Al Ahed Website that El Murr may never be acquitted at the Court of Appeals because documents and solid proof condemn him for depriving the state’s treasury of big amounts of money, the report added.
The story started in 2012, when El Murr purchased an E1 line which allows him to have a wide range of communication services via the Internet, installing special equipment and receivers to redirect the international phone calls from the government’s communication posts to his company.
Accordingly, his line will turn the expensive international calls to cheap local one, depriving the treasury from hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In this war, El Murr also sells the phone callers for half of the cost they pay it to the government in return for the international phone calls, according to the report.
The judiciary sources added that proofs and pieces of evidence El Murr’s E1 line witnessed a weird rise in the number of calls and the value of bills in comparison with other main companies, like LBCI and Blom Bank.
The sources pointed out that in May , 2016, the line was deactivated for two days and that El Murr realized at that time that he was caught red-handed because the number of calls after the deactivation is much less than that before it.
The following table shows how the calls fell from 5137 on 10/05/2016, one day before the line was deactivated, to 118 on the first day of the line’s reactivation.
The judiciary sources also pointed out that El Murr is accused of tax evasion because the large amounts of money he got out of this conspicuous piracy did not pass through the legal procedures of the government; thus, he avoided paying the taxes which come in this context.
Finally, the judiciary sources stressed that El Murr may never be able to be acquitted because the documents and proofs are enough to sentence him for three years in jail and force him to repay the financial losses he inflicted upon the state’s treasury (estimated to be around one million US dollars).

The death toll in the Gaza Strip exceeded 20 by Wednesday as the “Israeli” entity continued the bombing campaign it launched with the extrajudicial execution a day earlier of a senior commander of the Islamic Jihad resistance group.
Jordan has deplored the “Israeli” attacks as an aggression against innocent civilians.
But as Palestinians in Gaza braced for what could be a prolonged “Israeli” assault claiming many more lives, evidence emerged that Jordanian warplanes are taking part in military exercises alongside the “Israeli” entity’s air force.
The claim was made by a Dutch aviation analyst who posted evidence on Twitter indicating that Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16 warplanes are informally involved in the Blue Flag 2019 exercise hosted by the entity.
It has been bolstered by an “Israeli” military reporter.
Maps and data posted by the Dutch analyst, citing the flight tracking service FlightRadar24.com, show Jordanian military aircraft flying intermittently along the Jordan-“Israeli” entity border and over “Israeli”-occupied territory since 3 November, with additional flights reported Wednesday.
Shai Levy, a military reporter with the Israeli news website Mako, posted what he claimed was a photo of a Jordanian warplane at Israel’s Ovda airbase.
Formally the countries taking part in Blue Flag 2019 are the “Israeli” entity, Germany, Italy, Greece and the United States.
“Officially, [Royal Jordanian Air Force] is not a participant in the exercises, but evidence is strong,” the Dutch analyst observed. “I don’t expect anyone to officially confirm this.”
Tensions between the two countries have increased recently after “Israel” subjected two Jordanian citizens to prolonged detention without charge or trial.
In 2015, “Israeli” media reported that Jordanian air force pilots paid a “working visit” to the “Israeli” entity.
That year, “Jordanian fighter pilots trained closely with their ‘Israeli’ counterparts at a US-hosted air force exercise,” according to The Times of “Israel”, citing a US official.
The United Arab Emirates, which maintains a secret, though increasingly open, alliance with the “Israeli” entity, is known to have previously taken part in military exercises with the “Israeli” air force.
Requests for comment have been sent to the office of the Jordanian prime minister, who doubles as defense minister, the foreign ministry and the Jordanian embassy in Washington at their publicly listed email addresses.

للحراك الشعبي هوية مفترضة يقول الناشطون إنها تتعلق باستعادة الدولة الحقيقية. المشترك الوحيد الفعلي بين كل من يصرخون في الساحات اليوم هو المطالبة بإسقاط رموز السلطات الحاكمة في لبنان جميعاً. ويجتهد الحقيقيون منهم، وحتى المزوّرون، بالتأكيد أن لا وجود لأجندات أخرى غير المطالبة بتغيير حقيقي في بنى السلطة أو حتى النظام. ولكن، لدى التدقيق، يمكن التمييز بين مطالب ذات طابع فئوي، وأخرى لمجموعات تطالب بإنتاج آليات جديدة لقيام سلطة تمنع القهر بكل أشكاله السياسية والاجتماعية والإنسانية. أما ما يصرخ به الجمهور لجهة عدم الحاجة إلى قيادة أو ناطقين أو ممثلين يفاوضون باسمهم، فلا يعبّر بدقة عمّن يمكن تسميتهم بـ«الوجوه المعبّرة» عن تطلعات قسم كبير من المشاركين في الاحتجاجات. وهؤلاء يسردون وقائع كثيرة تراكمت حتى لامست حدّ الانفجار الكبير، قبل أن يصمتوا عندما يُسألون: كيف يتم التغيير السلمي؟ وعبر مَن؟ وبواسطة مَن؟
لنعد إلى البداية.
لا يحتاج عاقل في لبنان إلى معرفة طبيعة الانقسام القائم حول آلية إدارة الدولة. وهو انقسام له خلفية طائفية ومذهبية ومصلحية. وقد أدت التسويات بين أركان القوى النافذة إلى تعميق الخلل على صعيد البنية الإجمالية للنظام، ما جعله مُنهَكاً حتى وصلنا إلى مرحلة الموت. وهذه الحقيقة التي يعاند أركان الصيغة في رفضها. وبما أن الانهيار حاصل حتماً، فإن الغضب الشعبي الذي كان يقوم مرات بصورة قطاعية، تجمع هذه المرة على شكل احتجاج عام، شارك فيه قسم كبير من اللبنانيين، سواء من نزلوا إلى الشوارع أو الساحات أم من لازموا منازلهم. لكن الحقيقة الأكيدة أن اللبنانيين أعلنوا، هذه المرة، أن الصيغة القائمة سقطت. إلا أن أحداً لم يتحدث عن بديل جاذب لغالبية لبنانية جديدة تُتيح بناء الجديد.
لكن، ماذا عن التدخلات في الحراك القائم، قبل اندلاعه وبعده؟ وهل صرنا في وقت مسموح فيه السؤال عن بعض الأمور وعرض بعض التفاصيل التي تفيد في الإجابة عن أسئلة كثيرة حول هوية المستفيدين والمستغلّين؟ وكذلك حول قدرة أهل الحراك على حمايته من الخطف أو الأخذ صوب مواجهات تخدم أركان الصيغة الساقطة أو رعاتهم الخارجيّين؟ وطالما يصعب توقع تفاهمات وطنية كبيرة على صيغة جديدة قريباً، فإن البلاد أمام خيارين: إما ترميم الحكم الحالي في انتظار لحظة تغيير جذرية تحتاج إلى عناصر جديدة؛ وإما الاستمرار في حال الفراغ القائمة على صعيد الحكم، مع ما يصاحبها من مخاطر الفوضى وما هو أكثر (بالمناسبة، هل كنا نحن خلف الفوضى القائمة عندما حذّرنا منها باكراً؟).

عند هذه النقطة، يبدأ الانقسام الكبير في المقاربات مع من يعتقدون، واهمين، أن المسألة محلية مئة في المئة، ويتماهون مع شعراء الكبة النية والتبولة وفخر الصناعة اللبنانية والوحدة الوطنية وبقية الزجل السخيف!
لا بأس، هنا، من الحديث بصراحة عن التدخلات. داخلياً، هناك قوى وجهات مختلفة صاحبة مصلحة في استخدام الاحتجاج لإحداث تغييرات تصبّ في مصلحتها، أبرزها قوى 14 آذار التي خسرت الكثير منذ عام 2005. وهي لم تخسر محلياً فقط، بل خسرت كل عناصر الدعم النوعي في الإقليم والعالم، وتشعر بوهن كبير نتيجة التراجع الذي أصاب المحور الإقليمي – الدولي الذي تنتمي إليه. هذه القوى تريد نسف التسوية الرئاسية التي قامت في الأعوام القليلة الماضية، لكنها لا تريد نسف النظام لأنها، تاريخياً، من المستفيدين منه. وهذه حال وليد جنبلاط وسمير جعجع وفريقهما، كما هي حال قوى وشخصيات «خرجت من المولد بلا حمص» رغم انخراطها في الصراع الداخلي. ويضاف إلى هؤلاء خليط من الشخصيات التي يمكن أن تُطلق عليها تسميات كـ«التكنوقراط» و«الاختصاصيين» ممن ينتشرون في كل مفاصل لبنان تحت عناوين المنظمات غير الحكومية والمجتمع المدني وتوابعهما. وهؤلاء، باتوا اليوم في صلب الحركة السياسية الطامحة إلى امتلاك مواقع في السلطة. وهم يقولون، صراحة، إن عجزهم عن إنتاج أحزاب سياسية يجعلهم أكثر حرية في العمل ضمن أطر ذات بُعد مهني أو قطاعي أو مدني.
اليوم، يمكن أيّ مواطن الانتباه إلى أن كل من مرّ على قوى 14 آذار لا يشعر بالذعر جراء ما يحصل في الشارع، وإلى أن يتصرف على أنه جزء من الحراك الشعبي. وحتى من يتجنبون الظهور مباشرة في الساحات، ولو بغير رضى، لا يتصرفون كما لو أن ما يجري يستهدفهم. بل يتصرفون من موقع الداعم. وفي كل مرة يُتاح لهم التحدث، يعلنون «تبني مطالب الناس». وهو لسان حال كل من في هذا الفريق. كما تجدر ملاحظة أن كل من له علاقات جيدة مع السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة وأميركا وفرنسا وبريطانيا، يتصرف براحة وفرح إزاء ما يحصل في الشارع. وهؤلاء ليسوا سياسيين فقط، بل بينهم أيضاً اقتصاديون وإعلاميون وناشطون وناشطات وخبراء!
في المقابل، يمكن أيّ مواطن الانتباه إلى أن كل خصوم 14 آذار، من حزب الله إلى حركة أمل والتيار الوطني الحر وكل من هو في موقع الحليف للمقاومة، يتصرفون بقلق كبير إزاء الحراك. ويمكن من دون جهد كبير ملاحظة أن الشعارات والهتافات التي سيطرت على المشهد الإعلامي الخارج من الساحات، ركّزت – ولا تزال – على هذا الفريق ورموزه، كما يمكن بسهولة ملاحظة حال القلق، بل وحتى الذعر، التي تسود لدى جمهور هذه القوى في الشارع. ويمكن، أيضاً، ملاحظة أن الناس العاديين الذين يقفون إلى جانب المقاومة، والذين بكّروا في النزول إلى الساحات للمشاركة في الاحتجاجات، خرجوا منها تباعاً بمجرد أن سمعوا ملاحظات مقلقة من السيد حسن نصرالله حيال ما يجري وما يُخطَّط له.
كذلك يمكن، من دون جهد استثنائي، ملاحظة أن وسائل الإعلام والإعلاميين الذين بنوا امبراطورياتهم وشركاتهم الموازية عبر الاستفادة من هذا النظام ومن كل من تعاقب على الحكم فيه، ومعهم جيش من رجال الأعمال العاملين في لبنان وخارجه، يقفون إلى جانب الحراك، بل يتغنون به بلا تردّد. ويفاخرون بحروبهم ضد الفساد، وهم الذين استغلوا كل أنواع التسهيلات المصرفية والإعلانية والقانونية للحصول على مكتسبات لا يمكنهم الحصول عليها في ظروف طبيعية.
اجتماعات لغالبية الجمعيات غير الحكومية في مكاتب للاتحاد الأوروبي والأمم المتحدة والوكالة الأميركية
خارجياً، لم تبق جهة تعادي المقاومة إلا ورحبت بما يجري، من دون أي استثناء. من عواصم سياسية ومؤسسات اقتصادية أو إعلامية أو خلافها. ويذهب كثيرون في المحور السعودي – الأميركي إلى اعتبار ما يجري على أنه مرحلة الانتفاضة ضد النفوذ الإيراني في لبنان (اقرأ حزب الله وسلاح المقاومة). بينما كانت روسيا، ومعها الصين وإيران، تبدي خشية سابقة (نشرت «الأخبار» مقابلة مع السفير الروسي في بيروت قبل اندلاع الحراك حذّر فيها من فوضى تعد لها أميركا في لبنان).
ببساطة، يمكن قراءة ما يعتقده الأطراف من نتائج لهذا الحراك. وهذا ما يجعلهم يرحبون به أو يحذرون منه، من دون أن يعني ذلك أن النتائج ستصيب في نهاية المطاف ما يريده كل منهم. وهذا رهن أداء الأكثر حضوراً ونفوذاً في الساحات، ومدى قدرتهم على تنظيف صفوفهم من اللصوص.
هل من خطة غربية؟
إلى جانب كل ما سبق، وبرغم الحساسية المُبالغ فيها عند مشاركين أو ناشطين في الحراك إزاء الحديث عن استغلال لهم أو وجود مؤامرة، صار من الواجب ذكر العديد من العناصر التي لا يرغب كثيرون في سماعها، ومنها:
أولاً، ما إن انطلق الحراك حتى انطلقت ماكينة عمل فريق الخبراء والناشطين والاختصاصيين المرشحين لتولي مناصب حكومية بديلة. وبعد مرور نحو شهر على الحراك، خرجت الأحاديث إلى العلن، عن اجتماعات عقدت في مكاتب هؤلاء، بحضور ممثلين عن «الجمعية الدولية للمدراء الماليين اللبنانيين -LIFE»، وناشطين ممن كانوا منضوين في مجموعة «بيروت مدينتي» التي خاضت الانتخابات البلدية الأخيرة في العاصمة، إضافة إلى ممثلين عن حزب الكتلة الوطنية بقيادته الجديدة وناشطين عادوا وانضووا في تجمعات مثل «وطني» الذي تتصرّف النائبة بولا يعقوبيان كما لو أنها قائدته، وممثلة عن جمعية «كلنا إرادة» التي تعرّف عن نفسها بأنها مجموعة من الشخصيات اللبنانية العاملة في القطاع الخاص خارج لبنان، وتهتم بأن تشكل «مجموعة ضغط» من أجل الإصلاح السياسي والاقتصادي في لبنان.

ولم يكن قد مرّ وقت طويل على انطلاق التجمعات الكبيرة في الساحات، حتى انعقدت الاجتماعات بصورة مختلفة، وأكثر كثافة، بمشاركة غالبية الجمعيات والمنظمات غير الحكومية أو التي يحب روّادها تسمية أنفسهم بالحراك المدني. وكان بعض الاجتماعات يُعقد في مكاتب تخص ممثليات للاتحاد الأوروبي أو الأمم المتحدة أو الوكالة الأميركية للتنمية الدولية، وهي الجهات التي تموّل غالبية هذه الجمعيات. ويحضر اللقاءات إلى جانب ممثلي هذه الجمعيات، موظفون من المؤسسات الغربية والدولية، وفي بعض الاجتماعات حضر دبلوماسيون من رتب متدنية.
خارج لبنان، كانت الحركة تدبّ في ثلاث عواصم رئيسية. في واشنطن، دعت مراكز دراسات أميركية إلى عقد ندوات حول الأزمة اللبنانية، وإرسال رسائل إلى الإدارة الأميركية والكونغرس، إضافة إلى لقاءات عقدها ناشطون من قوى سياسية، بينهم فريق التقى صهر الرئيس الأميركي جاريد كوشنير الذي وعد بنقل الصورة إلى الرئيس دونالد ترامب. وقد تم جمع الوفد اللبناني الذي التقاه من عدة ولايات أميركية. أما في باريس، فإلى جانب التحركات الشعبية التي قامت دعماً للحراك في لبنان، عُقدت سلسلة اجتماعات مع مسؤولين في وزارة الخارجية، وأخرى مع المعنيين بملف لبنان والشرق الأوسط في جهاز الاستخبارات الفرنسية الخارجية الذي يديره السفير الفرنسي الأسبق في لبنان برنارد إيمييه. أما المدينة العربية التي تحسّست حكومتها من النشاط العلني، فكانت إمارة دبي التي رفضت إعطاء الإذن لمجموعة لبنانية بالتظاهر تضامناً مع الحراك الشعبي، ثم نبّهت الحكومة هناك «المتبرعين» من تحويل أي أموال عبر المصارف العاملة في الإمارة إلى لبنان، مع إبراز خشية أن تكون الأموال ذاهبة عن طريق الخطأ إلى جهات معادية.
اللافت للأمر أن مجموعة «life» كانت حاضرة في غالبية هذه الاجتماعات والتحركات. لكن الأهم، هنا، هو أن ممثلي هذه المجموعة سارعوا، منذ اليوم الأول، إلى الحديث عن الحكم البديل. في بيروت أثارت مندوبة «كلنا إرادة»، وآخرون من «بيروت مدينتي»، إمكان الشروع فوراً في خطة لتنظيم إطار تنسيقي، والإعداد لورقة عمل تحت عنوان «حكومة الإنقاذ البديلة». وفشلت مساعي هذه المجموعة في جذب شخصيات وقوى وجماعات مشاركة في الحراك. بينما تعمّدت إبعاد مجموعات أخرى، لا سيما من هم أقرب إلى الحزب الشيوعي. والحجة الدائمة، هي نفسها التي استُخدمت مع الفرنسيين أثناء التحضير لزيارة الموفد الفرنسي، بأن الشيوعيين ليسوا أصحاب نفوذ قوي، وأنه يمكن الاستعانة بشخصيات مدنية واقتصادية تمثلهم، ويكون هؤلاء من أصحاب وجهات النظر الأقل تطرفاً تجاه التغيير الجذري في النظام الاقتصادي.
الأمين العام لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي في فلسطين زياد النخّالة يؤكد للميادين أن قرارنا بالرد على اغتيال الشهيد أبو سليم تم اتخاذه فوراً، كاشفاً أن” إسرائيل” نقلت إلينا طلباً لوقف إطلاق النار، موضحاً ان” من شروطنا لوقف اطلاق النار وقف الاغتيالات ووقف إطلاق النار على مسيرات العودة”، وتزامن بثّ المقابلة عبر الميادين مع نقل الإعلام الإسرائيلي شروط التهدئة التي وضعها النخّالة.
النخالة للميادين: سرايا القدس لم تستنفذ كل ما في جعبتها من صواريخ وأسلحة
أكد الأمين العام لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي في فلسطين زياد النخالة أن سرايا القدس اتخذت القرار الصائب بالرد على اغتيال اسرائيل للشهيد أبو سليم.
وفي حوار خاص مع الميادين قال النخالة إن قرارنا بالرد على اغتيال الشهيد أبو سليم تم اتخاذه فوراً بعد دقائق على عملية الاغتيال، مؤكداً أن سرايا القدس لم تستنفذ كل ما في جعبتها من صواريخ وأسلحة في مواجهة “إسرائيل”.
وإذّ شدد على أن قرارنا كان منذ البداية استهداف العمق الاسرائيلي بالصواريخ، توجه القيادي الفلسطيني بالتحية والتقدير للمقاومين الذين يواجهون إسرائيل ويقصفونها بالصواريخ”.
وأضاف “أقول لعائلات الشهداء إننا على موعد مع النصر و بهم سننتصر”.
النخالة أكد أن سرايا القدس وقيادة الجهاد الاسلامي هي التي حددت هذا القرار ونحن نتحمل المسؤولية بالكامل، موضحاً في ردٍّ على سؤال للميادين أن “باقي فصائل المقاومة موجودة على الأرض لكن سرايا القدس حاليا تتقدم المواجهة”.
وأردف قائلاً “أنا لا أقبل بمقولة أن الجهاد هو ولي الدم لأنني اعتقد أن الشعب الفلسطيني هو ولي الدم”.
النخالة شدد على أننا قادرون في حركة الجهاد على إدارة المعركة لوقت طويل ضمن خطط موضوعة سلفاً، وسنثبت للجميع أننا قادرون على مواجهة المعركة مع العدو وإدارتها بنجاح.
ولفت الأمين العام لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي في فلسطين أن “ردّنا من غزة على اسرائيل يشمل الرد على العدوان الإسرائيلي الأخير على دمشق“، مشدداً على أننا “لم نطلب من حلفائنا في محور المقاومة المساعدة في المعركة الحالية ضد “إسرائيل”.
وفي السياق، أعلن النخالة أننا لم نصل إلى مرحلة الحرب الشاملة بين محور المقاومة و “إسرائيل”.

وفي وقتٍ أوضح فيه أن “سرايا القدس لا تطلق رصاصة واحدة على “إسرائيل” دون قرار من القيادة التي تتحمل مسؤولية ذلك”، وفي حال تم الاتفاق على وقف إطلاق النار وأخلّت الأخيرة بأي بند منه سنكون بحلٍّ من الاتفاق”.
النخالة قال إن الدور المصري إيجابي وهم يبذلون جهداً لايقاف العدوان الإسرائيلي علينا، كاشفاً عن وضع مسودة الاتفاق على وقف إطلاق النار، متوقعاً أن يتلقى الرد الليلة.

النخالة أكد”لمن يقول إن المعركة الحالية هي معركة سرايا القدس نقول إنها معركة الشعب الفلسطيني”، معتبراً أنه عندما توافق “إسرائيل” على إدخال اموال المساعدات هدفها ترويض المقاومة”.
وحول مسيرات العودة قال “قررنا حماية مسيرات العودة لذلك هي ضمن شروط وقف إطلاق النار”.
المسؤول الفلسطيني قدّر الدور اليمني “نقول لهم أنتم على حق ونحن معكم في مواجهة العدوان عليكم، ووجّه النخالة “التحية الكبيرة لتونس وللرئيس قيس سعيد الذي وجّه تحية للشعب الفلسطيني”.

The Gaza-based Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement says it is holding fire after ‘Israel’ accepted its key demands, including stopping targeted killings, as part of an Egypt-mediated truce aimed at ending the military confrontation between the two sides.
Speaking on Thursday morning, the Islamic Jihad’s spokesman, Musab al-Braim, confirmed earlier reports of the truce, saying the ceasefire came into force at 5:30 a.m. local time (3:30 GMT), Reuters reported.
Braim said that the Zionist entity had agreed to both end its targeted killings of Palestinian resistance fighters and lethal gunfire at weekly Palestinian demonstrations against occupation near the fence separating the Gaza Strip from the Israeli-occupied territories.
“The ceasefire began under Egyptian sponsorship after the Occupation (Israel) submitted to the conditions set by Islamic Jihad on behalf of Palestinian resistance factions,” Braim told Reuters.
Earlier, Egyptian sources said the “ceasefire agreement comes as a result of Egypt’s efforts” and has been endorsed by “Palestinian factions including Islamic Jihad.”
The Zionist entity had agreed to the Islamic Jihad’s key demands in exchange for the resistance group to stop firing rockets into the occupied territories and ensure Gaza rallies are peaceful.
There has been no confirmation so far from the ‘Israeli’ side.
Nonetheless, shortly after the ceasefire, rocket warning sirens were reportedly sounded south of the occupied lands.
The escalation erupted early on Tuesday, when ‘Israel’ assassinated senior Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu al-Ata, along with his wife, in a targeted strike on their home in Gaza.
A similar strike also hit the home of another Islamic Jihad commander in Syria on Tuesday, but missed the target.
‘Israel’ continued its deadly air raids on the besieged coastal sliver, killing 30 other Palestinians and injuring 97 others over the past two days.
Ata’s assassination sparked Palestinian retaliatory attacks into the occupied territories.
A total of 300 rockets are estimated to have been launched from Gaza, reaching as far as Tel Aviv and shutting schools in the occupied territories’ central and southern areas.
An article posted by i24news mentioned the investigations, done by the Islamic Jihad resistance movement in Gaza into the assassination of the military commander Baha Abu Al-Atta, revealed the entrance of an Israeli drone to the bedroom of his apartment few minutes before the attack.
The report added that the Zionist drone entered Abu Al-Atta’s apartment to accurately check the presence of the target and transmitted images to the command few minutes just before it exploded, causing a light damage.
Few moments later, a warplane fired two missiles at the bedroom (of Abu Al-Atta’s apartment), destroying it completely, according to the report which added that the Israeli drones had always monitored the house before the assassination and that the martyr entered his house half an hour before the assassination.
Shin Bet chief Nadav Argaman boasted, during a joint press conference with the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and the Cjief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, that the enemy forces managed to reach even the bed of the martyr Abu Al-Atta.
It is worth noting that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah had warned against the threat posed by the Israeli drone violations, vowing to confront this danger.
Sayyed Nasrallah’s remarks came in response to an Israeli drone attack on Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh) on August 25, 2019.
An Israeli drone come down in Dahiyeh’s Mouawwad neighborhood at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday (August 25, 2019), and another exploded in the same area half an hour later. The attack caused damage to Hezbollah’s Media Relations office which is located in the area.
The wave of Color Revolutions sweeping the globe in recent years claimed its latest victim on Sunday. Bolivia’s Evo Morales, who was unwilling to subordinate his nation’s sovereign rights to US interests, was removed from office.
Numerous foreign officials – from the UK’s opposition leader, Jeremy Corbyn, to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro – described Morales’ departure as a coup d’etat.
The charge is not at all surprising. Morales, Bolivia’ s first indigenous president, was reelected three times since taking office in January 2006.
The consecutive electoral victories made him Latin America’s longest-serving democratic leader.
During his time in office, Bolivia enjoyed an unprecedented level of political and social stability, recording an economic growth rate of between 4% and 6%.
But following the latest elections in October, the opposition and regional US vassals began screaming bloody murder.
Amid allegations of fraud, the Washington-based Organization of American States [OAS] was mandated to carry out an audit of the election results.
Claiming irregularities, the OAS recommended that Bolivia hold fresh elections. Morales agreed, but just hours later, Bolivian military chiefs stepped into the fray and ‘asked’ the incumbent to resign.
Faced with a violent onslaught against his supporters in a country with an unstable ethno-political makeup, Morales put the wellbeing of the Bolivian people before his desire to remain in power and stepped down.
However, his resignation has not extinguished the possibility of further unrest. Bolivia remains vulnerable to a high risk of violence, as gangs roam capital La Paz to attack businesses and set property ablaze.
To what extent the situation escalates will depend largely on how far the victors of the revolution are willing to go in persecuting Morales supporters. And despite the mainstream narrative, there is no shortage of Bolivians who still see the former president as a champion of the poor, who ushered in a period of steady economic growth.
Meanwhile, in Washington, smothering that kind of sentiment is exactly what is required.
For those roaming the US halls of power, the departure of Morales brings them “one step closer to a completely democratic, prosperous, and free Western Hemisphere.”
With those words, President Donald Trump once again invoked the so-called Monroe Doctrine.
Swimming against the tide
Evo Morales was the last survivor of the ‘Pink Tide’, which ushered in left-wing governments across Latin America two decades ago, starting with the consecutive elections of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela and Lula da Silva in Brazil.
Among one of the main driving forces behind the rise of these progressive leaders is the very powerful anti-American sentiment in the region, which was instigated by bloody escapades like the infamous Operation Condor.
This US-backed action throughout the 1960s and ‘70s centered on economic warfare, political murders, coups and the sponsorship of brutal, far-right regimes in an effort to clear the American continent of all undesirables – or as Trump so eloquently put it, ‘free’ the Western Hemisphere.
In 2017, a tribunal in Rome convicted former heads of state and top security chiefs from Latin America over their involvement in atrocities committed during Operation Condor.
Among those officials were Bolivia’s former dictator, Luis Garcia Meza, and interior minister Luis Arce Gomez.
Interestingly, the court also exposed the involvement of current Trump administration whisperer and former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger.
One of the declassified documents admitted as evidence during the trial reveals that Kissinger not only encouraged the brutal repression in individual Latin American states, but also advised regimes to join their efforts.
“If there are things that have to be done, you should do them quickly,” Kissinger is quoted as saying during a June 1976 exchange with Argentina’s then-foreign minister, Admiral Cesar Guzzetti.
“We want you to succeed,” Kissinger said. “We do not want to harass you.”
Those struggling to understand the Trump administration’s foreign policy need to look no further than Henry Kissinger.
The former American diplomat devoted much of his career to advancing the Monroe Doctrine – Washington’s longstanding claim to the Western Hemisphere as an exclusive zone of US interests.
In his 2014 book, ‘World Order’, Kissinger defines the Monroe Doctrine as the US having “the right to intervene preemptively in the domestic affairs of other Western Hemisphere nations to remedy flagrant cases of wrongdoing or impotence.”
Bolivia’s Evo Morales – who criticized US intervention in Venezuela, spoke out against the blockade of Cuba, denounced the military coup in Honduras and applauded Edward Snowden’s revelations – was no doubt guilty of “wrongdoing” on the Kissinger scale.
But more importantly, perhaps, Morales had picked the wrong economic partners.
In February of this year, Bolivia chose a Chinese consortium to be its strategic partner on a new USD 2.3 billion lithium project.
The deal essentially handed Beijing a foothold in Bolivia’s huge untapped reserves of the prized electric battery metal.
Morales is guilty of other sins against US hegemony, too. He brought in Russian energy giant Gazprom for the development of a number of lucrative natural gas fields. The Russians have other massive investments in Bolivia, including the construction of a nuclear research facility. Moreover, Moscow had plans to build hydroelectric power stations and transportation networks.
The time had come to remind Morales and other Latin American states that the Monroe Doctrine was “alive and well” – as John Bolton had famously declared in April.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Bolivian opposition was flushed with millions of dollars from Washington ahead of the October polls.
The Caracas-based Telesur television network reported last month that leaked audio recordings involving Bolivian opposition leaders revealed a plot orchestrated and coordinated from the US embassy in La Paz to unseat the government there.
The recordings reportedly mention contacts between the opposition and hardline American senators Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Bob Menendez.
A message to Maduro
Morales’ exit will likely lead to significant changes in Bolivia’s geopolitical vector.
That means that Russia and China will have a much harder time securing contracts for gas exploration, lithium mining and arms sales.
But the coup in Bolivia is particularly bad news for Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro. The success of the right-wing opposition in La Paz is undoubtedly intended to encourage and inspire their ideological counterparts in Caracas.
And as Maduro loses another friend on the Latin American stage, the message from Washington to the government in Caracas is clear: you may have won a battle against the US-led push to oust you from power, but the war is ongoing.
