Hezbollah to Feltman: Your Country First Terrorist State in World
Hezbollah to Feltman: Your Country First Terrorist State in World
Al Manar TV
A few hours following the statements delivered by Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman on Lebanon and Hezbollah, the Resistance party issued a statement in which it retorted to the US official and commented on his renewed interference in Lebanese internal affairs.
Hezbollah's statement emphasized that Feltman's statements and meddling in the Lebanese affairs were not strange. "Since he was the US ambassador to Lebanon, Feltman used to interfere in every Lebanese internal detail," Hezbollah said.
"Mr Feltman doesn't hesitate to talk with relief about Lebanese issues just as if he was the head of a Lebanese party or group," Hezbollah said, recalling that the US official had always dreamt of engaging the country in the American tutelage's club.
"It seems that Feltman still suffers from the shock that preceded his country defeat in the region," Hezbollah stressed, accusing the US official of hallucinating and irrationally thinking that he was the center of the existence. "Thus, Mr Feltman doesn't hesitate to classify people, define "terrorism", misrepresent and distort the truth of the Resistance and its achievements," Hezbollah's statement said, pointing out that Feltman's statements were desperate and absurd.
The Resistance party then recalled that it was honoured to be accused by US administration of terrorism after the latter put itself in the position of enmity against the liberation movements and people and their right of independence, sovereignty, dignity and freedom.
Hezbollah concluded its statement by reminding Feltman that his administration has and is still committing crimes in the world alongside supporting the criminal entities led by Israel. "All these facts make of the US administration the first terrorist and pro-terrorism state in the world," the statement read.
Feltman earlier told the House Subcommittee on Middle East and South Asia during a hearing that the US support for Lebanon depends on election results, adding that the upcoming polls will "offer an opportunity for moderate voices" to reinforce the country's independence. He even went on to say that US assistance to Lebanon will be evaluated following the elections.
Feltman also claimed that Hezbollah "clearly remains a danger to Lebanon and the region," adding that what he called the group's "violent actions" against Lebanese citizens reveal that the party is a threat to peace and stability. "Our longstanding policy remains in effect: should Hezbollah renounce terrorism—both in Lebanon and abroad—and submit to the rule of law and the authority of the Lebanese state, we would reconsider this status," he said in reference to Britain's decision to start contacts with the group's political wing.
