OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Arab members of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) accused Israel of pursuing racial cleansing and called for greater Arab and Islamic support to counter the growing Israeli extremism.

Abbas Zakur said on Wednesday that he did not rule out the Knesset's endorsement of the draft law that stipulates the imprisonment of anyone not recognizing Israel as a "Jewish state".

He said that several such laws were being deliberated lately in a bid to further persecute the Arabs living in 1948 occupied Palestine in a bid to force them into "voluntary transfer" outside Palestine.

The follow up committee, grouping all Arab parties, would stand up to this "rabid" campaign, stressing that the Arab citizens were in need of greater Arab and Islamic backing to counter such practices.

For his part, Talab Al-Sane charged Israel with pursuing racial cleansing, forced evacuation, demolition of homes and uprooting of trees while championing democracy, equality and peace with the others.

Sane denounced in a statement on Tuesday the Israeli "barbaric" act of uprooting 250 olive trees in Hamamde area in the Negev.

He described the Israeli government as "racist" that is following a systematic policy to pressure Arab citizens into forsaking their lands.
