OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israeli "Peace Now" movement has revealed that the track of the new Israeli railway linking Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would be built on large areas of Palestinian lands in the West Bank.

The movement said in a statement on Tuesday that it tabled an objection to the path with the planning and construction committee of the civil administration of the West Bank and asked for amending the path.

The movement underlined that the path of the railway passes through Palestinian lands near Beit Surik village turning the lands into roads leading to tunnels and bridges to accommodate the railroad.

It stressed that most of those lands do not belong to Israeli local or regional authority while the railroad was planned to serve Israelis and not Palestinians.

The construction of the railroad would confiscate 50 dunums of lands in five Palestinian villages.
