Hamas renews its commitment to struggle for liberation

WEST BANK, (PIC)-- On the anniversary of the assassination of four of its leaders Hamas has issued a statement renewing its commitment to struggle against occupation until liberation is achieved.

The four leaders were assassinated in July of 2001 and July 2002; Salah Shehadah was assassinated in Gaza on 22 July 2002, Jamal Mansour and Jamal Salim were assassinated in Nablus on 31 July 2001 and Salah Darwaza was assassinated in Nablus on 25 July 2001.

The statement read: "We in the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in the West Bank, from the heart of suffering and from behind walls of oppression and conspiracies renew our pledge to our fallen leaders to shoulder the sacrifices to tread in their footsteps towards dignity, honour and liberation."

Salah Shehadah was assassinated by the Israeli occupation airforce dropping a one tone bomb at an apartment block in Gaza, killing him along with 17 others, including his family and some of his neighbours.

Jamal Mansour and Jamal Salim were assassinated by a rocket fired by an Israeli occupation fighter jet and hit the office they were in.

Salah Darwaza was assassinated by a rocket fired from the air at his car.
