A Trillion Dollar War So Neo-Cons COULD Have Bank Robber Chalabi Run Iraq
Dick Cheney must be smiling from ear to ear, he and his conservative, war mongering neo-cons have nearly accomplished one of their goals, giving Iraq to Ahmad Chalabi. So what if it has cost a TRILLION dollars and untold lives AND LIES and misery? Wasn’t Cheney’s friend and confident, Chalabi worth it? Wasn’t that one of the hefty goals of Project for the New American Century? To get rid of Saddam Hussein and put Chalabi in charge!
WE WERE WARNED, “Marine Gen. Anthony C. Zinni (ret.), then Commander-in-Chief of the Central Command, who bitterly battled Sens. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the Senate Armed Services Committee in January 1999 over the Senators’ desire to invade Iraq with a small band of Iraqi exiles? Review General Zinni’s speech to the U.S. Naval Institute in March 2000, in which he warned, “There are congressmen today who want to fund the Iraqi Liberation Act, and let some silk-suited, Rolex-wearing guys in London gin up an expedition. We’ll equip a thousand fighters and arm them with $97 million worth of AK-47s and insert them into Iraq. And what will we have? A Bay of Goats, most likely.” [Executive Intelligence Review, 4/9/2004]
But look who was in charge, a puppet named George W. Bush who had no foreign experience, had never even been to Europe, who handled the oval office like he was CEO of America and placed executive decisions with Dick, prince of the Neo-Cons, Cheney. The goal, reward their confident, Ahmad Chalabi with Iraq once Saddam was gone. It was such a sealed deal that Ahmad was Laura Bush’s guest, sitting side by side at the 2004 State of the Union Speech.
It was as dubious as Paul Wolfowitz claiming oil revenues would pay for the war.
Yesterday, the Tribune Newspaper via Liz Sly, reported, “Chalabi is Back, Dimissing US wishes. This needs to be a test for Obama, will Chalabi be handed over Iraq and the billions we are supplying it with or not?
According to Sly, …the former exile has a good chance of re-entering Parliament as a leading candidate for the main Shiite coalition.” [http://articles.latimes.com/2010/feb/28/world/la-fg-iraq-chalabi28-2010feb28]
This is the misery brought to us by conservatives placing their faith is phony idols. They ran with Chalabi as their “main man” via Wolfowitz, RichardPerle, Don Rumsfeld, Newt Gingrich, and of course, Dick Cheney. I am seething, feeling we are back to square one debating a health care bill that could have been signed sealed and delivered to all of the American people had it not been for Iraq and all the debt racked up to China to fight a bogus war. My blood is boiling, but I am not going to let Chalabi make me become a stroke casualty, I am going to tell you that you should be writing your elected officials to demand Chalabi’s arrest and trial! And to have the Neo-cons brought up on charges of conspiracy and lies used to invade Iraq! They catered to their “friend” who was a bank robber and looter of our treasury who now is big ally with Iran! Please feel free to cut and paste links or do your own search. Chalabi is a slippery evil, will we keep catering to his wishes? Is this the legacy of Iraq? If so, we Americans were soooooo duped, we should be demanding heads, (or at least the demand the pacemaker of Dick Cheney, the man without a heart.) Read on for more details…

Read the links I have supplied, Chalabi he faces 22 years behind barsif he steps back into Jordan after looting the Petra bank and fleeing. The guy is right out of a comic book, so slippery and so evil, he should have his own character to match what he does, grab cash and control. This Iran friend and sympathizer, Chalabi milked us of $97million when he set up the Iraqi National Congress and lobbied for an Iraqi liberation act which passed in ‘98′.“… 2003, the U.S. State Department paid nearly $33 million to the Iraqi National Congress, according to a General Accounting Office report released in 2004.[21] Subsequently, Chalabi’s Iraqi National Congress was paid about $335,000 per month by the Defense Intelligence Agency until May 18, 2004. [United States General Accounting Office. April 2004]
…” June 2004, it was reported that Chalabi gave U.S. state secrets to Iran in April, including the fact that one of the United States’ most valuable sources of Iranian intelligence was a broken Iranian code used by their spy services. Chalabi allegedly learned of the code through a drunk American involved in the code-breaking operation. Chalabi has denied all of the charges, and nothing has ever come of the charges nor do the Iraqi or U.S. governments currently seem very interested in pursuing them. [check Wikipedia source]
An arrest warrant for alleged counterfeiting was issued for Chalabi on August 8, 2004, while at the same time a warrant was issued on murder charges against his nephew Salem Chalabi (at the time, head of the Iraqi Special Tribunal), while they both were out of the country. Chalabi returned to Iraq on August 10 planning to make himself available to Iraqi government officials, but he was never arrested. Charges were later dropped against Ahmed Chalabi, with Judge Zuhair al-Maliki citing lack of evidence. [Wikipedia]
More info about Chalabi” http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2004/3114chalabi.html
Chalabi wears many hats, all given to him by the U.S. occupation. Among his positions:
- Chalabi is the most powerful member of the Iraqi Governing Council (IGC), placed on the body as a spy and U.S. puppet by Dick Cheney’s neo-con cabal. According to businessmen operating in Iraq, Chalabi, the bank embezzler and “aristocrat,” can be seen ordering around U.S. generals as if they are children. After all, Chalabi, unlike the U.S. uniformed military, has a direct hot-line into the most powerful offices in the United States: Vice President Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, and Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz.
- Chalabi has direct access to the Oval Office, through Dick Cheney’s shadow National Security Council. On Jan. 20, 2004, the day of Bush’s warlike State of the Union address, Chalabi visited the President in his office, and was seated next to First Lady Laura Bush in the VIP gallery during the speech. While Chalabi was not chosen by his colleagues on the IGC to be part of the delegation on Jan. 19 to brief the UN Security Council, he travelled with them to the United States and ran things from behind the scenes. With this access and muscle behind him, Chalabi can eliminate the opposition—as long as the U.S. military is there to protect him.
- Chalabi is in charge of the “de-Ba’athification” program, deciding whether Iraqi families can obtain work—a matter of life or death in occupied in Iraq. According to U.S. Sen. Jack Reed (R-R.I.), Chalabi is “most divisive person in Iraq.” Reed was one of five Senators who visited Iraq in mid-March 2004, along with Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), and Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), who warned that Iraq was on the edge of “a civil war.” At a March 18 news conference, Reed and Rockefeller, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that there is no justification for the U.S. government appointing Chalabi to run the “de-Baathification.” After seeing the conditions in Iraq “on the ground,” Reed prophetically warned that he expects that violence will increase and become even “more sophisticated and lethal.”
