OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The family of Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier captured by resistance forces more than four years back, said failed negotiation efforts by Netanyahu were to blame for their son's continued detention.
Shalit's father Noam told Israeli Radio there ”enough talk and excuses” and demanded that Netanyahu see to their son's release.
The Shalit family marked Saturday 1,700 days of Gilad's capture by Hamas's armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, and other Palestinian factions.
He was found taking cover inside his tank during the ”vanishing illusion” resistance operation that targeted Israeli army posts along the eastern border of Rafah and ended in the death and injury of several Israeli soldiers.
The captors have since demanded the release of some 1,400 Palestinian captives held in Israeli prisons in return for Shalit, with women and children captives being on top of the list, but talks with the Netanyahu administration have been so far fruitless.

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian ministry of prisoners' affairs urged Hamas Movement to raise the ceiling of its demands for the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
Information director of the ministry Riyadh Al-Ashqar said in a press release on Sunday that the ousted Egyptian regime was not neutral party to the swap deal talks and now that it was removed, Hamas should reconsider its demands in this regard and increase the number of Palestinian detainees who have to be released for Shalit.
Ashqar emphasized that the Zionist entity understands only the language of force and only fears the Palestinian resistance fighters whose positions are firm and strong.
The official asserted that the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and their families line up behind Hamas's position and appreciate its skillful management of the swap deal.
