Local Editor
Massive rallies took place in Egypt Friday to condemn the negligence in applying the demands of January’s uprising. They defended “January 25 revolution”, assuring that it will never die down, and insisted on prosecuting the ousted regime figures, chanting “people want to topple the regime” in reference to the regime figures that are still in the authority.
After Friday’s prayers, thousands of people took to the Tahrir square and to various Egyptian streets to express their rage at the military authority that took control of the regime after toppling ousted President Hosni Moubarak.

Marches also took place in Alexandria and Suez.
Protestors’ slogans and chants included: “Our revolution continues;" another sign said: “Change, freedom, social justice;” one of the protestors indicated that “we haven’t felt any change”.

The protestors’ major demands are to end military trials of civilians, prosecuting security forces accused of killing protestors during January’s uprising, and trialing the previous regime officials.
The Egyptians were strongly supportive to the armed forces for siding with the protestors during January 25’s uprising, but were later accused of various abuses.
