By that they mean that newly the established 'security forces' (funded and trained by the US/israel) shot a solider by mistake. The security forces have expressed 'regret'.
To make it up for it, dictator abbas said he would draft yet another 'peace' plan for israel, which he will submit to his holiness, president obama.
In response, Bibi said he would support abbas and the 'palestinian authority' while staying clear of support of any type of state. (i.e., he will prop the regime in the palestinian bantustan) abbas happily agreed.
if this isnt apartheid, i don't know what is.
A shift in US policy vis a vis Israel? Keep on dreaming

despite what some palestinians might tell you, obama is no savior in this regard. remember, he is not prepared to put his money where his mouth is. on the contrary, the money is going right where it usually goes- israel.
some say that unlike the bush admin, which did not have anything to say regarding settlements, the admin is enaging in tough talk with israel encouraging it to stop settlement buildup.
in reality though, the admin is essentially saying the following:
"settlements....um, maybe like, it would be good if you like, didn't do that? just a thought..."
to be sure, settlement build-up will continue- and the US will not go out of its way to stop it.
bush said he was a believer in the two state solution- obama's admin is touting the same line, despite the obvious reality on the ground: the fragmentation of the west bank due to settlements, checkpoints and jewish only roads. bibi doesnt want a two state solution. will this in fact alter US foreign policy vis a vis israel? not really. bibi's gov will not be boycotted- not in the way the palestinian coalition gov was boycotted in 2007.
at the end of the day, the obama admin, like the bush admin, is clear on one thing: rejecting the results of the Palestinian elections, the continued shameful embargo/siege of gaza, and the propping up puppet abbas. all together now: ch-ch-changes!!!!
