Elderly Palestinian farmer Ahmad Ghanem lies injured after being assaulted by IOF troops

TULKAREM, (PIC)-- IOF troops, at dawn Friday, raided the Nur-Shams refugee camp to the east of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem and arrested an 18-year-old Palestinian boy.

Local sources reported that IOF troops raided the home of freed Palestinian captive Mahmoud Asas at 3:00 am, ransacked it and then arrested his brother Ahmad Asas.

Meanwhile, in the nearby village of Deir al-Ghsoun IOF troops physically assaulted an elderly Palestinian man on Thursday, according to sources in the village.

The sources said that Hajj Ahmad Ghanem (75 years) from the village of Deir al-Ghsoun to the north of Tulkarem, arrived at the gate of the apartheid wall to the west of the village on his way to his farm, when he was assaulted by the IOF troops manning the gate.

They hit him with rifle butts, punch and kicked him until he fell on the ground bleeding. They left him on the ground until he managed to stand up and ride his donkey back to the village were he was taken to hospital. His injuries were described as moderate.

Ghanem owns 40 Dunums of land which lie beyond the apartheid wall and he has a permit to go to his land to tend, but despite having the permit he was assaulted by the IOF troops.
