GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian ministry of culture in the Gaza Strip said on Thursday that the Israeli settler’s crime of running over Palestinian youth Waseem Meswady in Al-Khalil city was indeed a reflection of Zionist terrorism and criminality against the Palestinian people.
The ministry said that the incident confirms Israeli barbarism and sadism, if a confirmation was needed, adding that the sadism behind the act goes beyond the lexicon of fictitious Dracula stories and real life serial killers and murders.
Meswady had sustained serious injuries when IOF troops shot him with six bullets, four of them settled in his stomach, in the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba’s before a fanatic Israeli settler exploited the youth’s inability to move and ran over him back and forth in front of the Israeli soldiers and the crews of the Magen David Adom (MDA) who made no attempt to stop the settler despite the youth’s screams for help.
“How could media cameras miss covering an ugly incident such as this incident that leaves no doubt on the level the Zionist terrorism has reached, and portrays the Israeli Nazi-like and criminal practices against a people defending their country and defending their legal rights”, the ministry questioned.
It added that the incident represents a simple example of the acts of terrorism which the Israeli settlers practice against the Palestinian people on daily basis under the protection of the Israeli occupation army and police.
In this regard, the ministry urged all legal and human rights institutions to play their role in suing that criminal settler and to prosecute him before the international criminal court, urging all media outlets to expose this flagrant crime and to uncover the series of crimes the Israeli occupation has been and still is committing against the Palestinian people.
For its part, the PA information ministry deprecated the awful crime, saying that the incident confirms that the Israeli circle of criminality against the Palestinian people was getting wider.
It also urged the family of the Palestinian victim to go to the court and to sue the Zionist criminal and not to go easy with him or drop their legal right, underlining that the Israeli criminal record against the Palestinian people was full of varying styles of torture and terrorist policies.
Further, the ministry highlighted that based on international laws such Israeli behavior against the Palestinian people is classified as war crimes that urge an immediate international mobilization to prosecute leaders of the Israeli occupation before international courts.
In the same context, the ministry strongly condemned the cancellation of the id cards of thousands of Palestinian Jerusalemites, accusing the Israeli occupation of ethnic cleansing and of aiming at emptying the occupied city of Jerusalem of its indigenous population.
Israeli occupation authorities arbitrarily cancelled the residency IDs of 4577 Palestinian Jerusalemites this year, making it the biggest number in one year since Jerusalem fell under the Israeli occupation in 1967.
