AMMAN, (PIC)-- Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the secretary-general of the OIC, said that the Israeli practices in the occupied city of Jerusalem call on the Muslim countries to take decisive stand against them, stressing that Jerusalem is a red line for Muslims.

In an interview with the Jordanian Al-Ghad newspaper, published on Thursday, Ihsanoglu stressed that rescuing the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem from the Israeli occupation is a religious duty on every Muslim, underlining that his organization rejects the Israeli "transfer" policy against Palestinians in the West Bank.

"Jerusalem is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian lands, and thus all the Israeli settlements built on it are illegitimate and flagrantly violate international laws and conventions", he said.

He also pointed out that the OIC informed US and EU officials of the need to stop the Israeli policies in the occupied city, and that Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque is a redline for the Muslim Ummah that it won't compromise.
